Before you all say don’t be ridiculous, you’ll look like the bride- there is no bride- it’s a gay wedding. I love this. lOVE it. Could get the floral one but of COURSE I want the cream one. Can I???????

Reminds me of Alexis in David’s wedding (Schitt’s Creek)

Not the dress, but the attitude.

Kenworthington · 11/02/2022 21:09

@1309usernameu is that…. A good or a bad thing??? (Never seen it)

Firstly this thread is hilarious.
Secondly I think in the wedding pictures you will look like the bride which might be odd!
But if you’ve ordered it I’m looking forward to finding out the final decision!

Derkle · 11/02/2022 21:11
@Derkle are you pulling my plonker?
I don't know. Have you got a plonker to pull?
I freely admit I only read your original post, and looked at the link.
But I believe my comment would still stand if you're a 6'4 truck driver with a beard to your knees, if you good in the dress, and your Son and SIl love it, then go for it.
I myself wore a long flowing light Gray with flowers, strapless dress as MoG, I sent pics of a couple of dresses to my DiL and she "ordered" me to wear that one. It was certainly the least MoG and most out there of the dresses.

Derkle · 11/02/2022 21:11

Feel good! Ughhh typos!

Firn · 11/02/2022 21:12

I fucking love the dress and you are going to look amazing, OP!

Can't believe some of the absolutely shockingly rude and disgusting (incest, wtf?!) comments.

Rock it OP!

Kenworthington · 11/02/2022 21:12

@Derkle haha no no actual physical plonker. My point is/ there’s NO BRIDE

maybloss2 · 11/02/2022 21:13

If you and yr son are happy with comments like I can see where he got his dress sense from then go for the it.
I wore a bright red dress at my daughters wedding at her insistence. I don’t normally wear bright colours but she was all for it. It wasnt remotely bridal In Style though, so there is that.xxx

Noni123 · 11/02/2022 21:13

The floral version would work for sure

winkywonky · 11/02/2022 21:13

Your personality and the way you describe yourself says 'scamp & Dude' to me. I have a few of their dresses and wore to weddings and my 40th birthday party. Check them out 😊 But I am sure your personality will shine whatever you wear! Have a great wedding!

sometimespeopletakethepiss · 11/02/2022 21:14

Some people have been really fucking ride on this thread. Have a word with yourselves.

I don't like the dress in all honesty OP, and I do think it's taking Argentinian from the grooms but you know your son better than anyone and if he would like it and you would like it then wear it.

Kenworthington · 11/02/2022 21:14

@Firn thank you 😊 I know right. I’m not easily shocked tbh but some comments I’m like/ that’s a bit unnecessary and mean
@Derkle For the love of god read the thread!
Haha ok. I will when I get a chance and I'll shut up until then! Grin

Kenworthington · 11/02/2022 21:17

Well he ‘told’ me he liked it so I assume he meant it?? We are very close. He is lush. We are also very similar actually. He dresses very plainly actually, but is ‘flamboyant’ and arty in his manner/personality if that makes sense.

@Derkle sorry 😂😂 I’ve had a stressful day.

Jjones8 · 11/02/2022 21:18

No - it looks like you’re trying to be the bride. It’s not about you.

Derkle · 11/02/2022 21:19
@Derkle haha no no actual physical plonker. My point is/ there’s NO BRIDE
Yeah I know, I got that. My short hand in the original was DS (Dear Son) and SIL (Son in law). Smile

Fluffmum · 11/02/2022 21:20

I love it buy the floral one

Lol all good. I've just woken up (Au) and having my morning coffee and skimming the posts.

Kenworthington · 11/02/2022 21:22

Ohhhhhhhhh sorry @Derkle my mistake

OP posts:
j712adrian · 11/02/2022 21:23

....why on earth not? I think the floral is nicer.

Derkle · 11/02/2022 21:24

@Kenworthington

Ohhhhhhhhh sorry *@Derkle* my mistake
Oh gosh I've never had so many comments from a misunderstanding! I'm quite enjoying this. Grin And it's all good. And I will read the entire thread when I get a chance.
Looley · 11/02/2022 21:25

I love the cream dress, it’s beautiful! The floral one looks a bit like someone fell into some curtains with a pair of scissors . It’s not as elegant. I’d ask the grooms. It’s what they think that counts , not mumsnetters after all. Why shouldn’t you want to look and feel great - not every day your son gets married (assumed this from other posts) ! They will have plenty of attention on them anyway I’m sure . Most of my gay men friends have impeccable fashion sense and would appreciate an amazing dress. I presume you’re slim and willowy- lucky you you can carry the dress off !! Enjoy it before you get older and can’t. Who knows what’s round the corner - live life while you have it and enjoy!!
