Before you all say don’t be ridiculous, you’ll look like the bride- there is no bride- it’s a gay wedding. I love this. lOVE it. Could get the floral one but of COURSE I want the cream one. Can I???????

I love it. Go for it!

LondonQueen · 11/02/2022 18:51

It's horrible and looks like tissue paper!

ProggyMat · 11/02/2022 18:52

Late to the thread but the floral frock is a belter @Kenworthington!

tinierclanger · 11/02/2022 18:53

Just dropping in to say I love the dress! Kudos for going for it 😀

DavetheCat2001 · 11/02/2022 18:53

Not sure why you bothered asking on here to be honest OP...

Acquitaine · 11/02/2022 18:53

OMG the filter by OP function has never been more satisfying. You're a legend OP, and that dress is frickin amazing!

It is fabulous! Over the top of course, you really need to have a colour so as not to look too bridal. The dark pink would work. Also the pink or blue.
Looks a bargain. You would really want to wear that again.

HangingOver · 11/02/2022 18:58

Have a lovely time OP Grin

cherish123 · 11/02/2022 18:59

I like the cream one better. I think it's fine, if it suits you.

Dnaltocs · 11/02/2022 18:59

Beautiful if you are under 30 but not not not for the grooms mum. It’s a bridal outfit and not for you, beautiful tho’ it is.
If not for a bride perhaps then for a graduation ball.

MdNdD · 11/02/2022 19:04

I think the dress is fabulous. My favourite was even the champagne colour.

I also love the idea of both mums going all out - like a team sport!

Enjoy your beautiful dress on their beautiful day :)

BOOTS52 · 11/02/2022 19:04

Lovely dress but it does look like a bridal gown. You can still dress up to the nine's but something less bridal. But suit yourself as you are the one who knows your son best and life too short to be always pleasing others. For me I would go for something less bridal but equally gorgeous. Enjoy the day.

BOOTS52 · 11/02/2022 19:06

The pink/red colour is gorgeous. Would definitely go for that as a lovely dress.

CauliflowerBalti · 11/02/2022 19:08

Love the floral one - please post an update on whether you do too when it arrives. Agree with everyone else that the white would look like you were trying to be the bride - it’s as bad whether there is an actual bride or not imo. You have great taste though.

rosewater20 · 11/02/2022 19:08

@Kenworthington Ignore the weird and mean comments. I think the dress could be amazing on you, I hope you'll post photos of you trying it on. Some people on here have weird ideas about fashion and what is appropriate for a wedding and will try to force wedding guest into bombshell dresses and outdated mother of the bride outfits.

I recently got married and didn't care at all what my guests wore, I just wanted everyone to feel their best and have a great time. In fact, after the wedding photos came back I noticed one of the guest had worn a long cream dress, I had talked to that guest multiple times and didn't even notice, nor did I care. The wedding is about the two people getting married and all eyes will be on them. The guest won't care or pay attention to what others are wearing and the happy couple won't either.

RussiasGreatestLoveMachine · 11/02/2022 19:12

People who don’t even bother their arses to read the OP’s posts are next level annoying!

It says in the very OP that there is no bride.

Fair play to you Kenworthington - it’s a lovely dress and you’ve made your choice.

My DB and his now husband got married in December, and I know he wouldn’t have given a hoot about me wearing a dress like that.

It would be the raised eyebrows or silent thoughts of the guests that would have stopped me from ever doing it though, to be honest!

You’re a better women than me for not giving a 💩

Hope you all have an amazing day - would love to relive their day all over again! ❤️

DonaPatrizia · 11/02/2022 19:16

Yes you can if you have the figure but NOT in the ivory

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 11/02/2022 19:17

@Kenworthington I haven't commented on an MN thread for about 5 years, but this one has made me laugh so much I've broken my own rules.
You're going to look fucking gorgeous, I hope you have an absolutely fantastic time, and best wishes to your son and his husband-to-be for their upcoming wedding.

(and yes, highlight the OP's posts, RTFT to the end before posting, and it makes things a lot less frustrating)

Asamommy · 11/02/2022 19:17

Wear it if u don't mind people talking about you (badly) behind you but if you don't want to be middle of gossip, then please don't wear that.
Oh god... No...

YukoandHiro · 11/02/2022 19:18

No way OP, I'm sorry. That's far too much. Don't do something that could very likely upset or irritate your new DIL on her wedding day; it's just unfair

Thenextmrsreacher · 11/02/2022 19:18

Neither. Way OTT.

Yourcatisnotsorry · 11/02/2022 19:18

I think it’s lovely, if your son likes it go for it!

MusicByTheLake · 11/02/2022 19:18

Weird thread all round.

You don’t seem to give a fuck what anyone thinks apart from your son. Good for you. But then I wonder why you would post and ask opinions here, it makes no sense at all. It all comes across as attention seeking, especially the faux ‘this thread is driving me batshit’. As a pp said, you’re loving it. If not, just hide the thread.

RussiasGreatestLoveMachine · 11/02/2022 19:19

She’s already bought the dress, people.
