Before you all say don’t be ridiculous, you’ll look like the bride- there is no bride- it’s a gay wedding. I love this. lOVE it. Could get the floral one but of COURSE I want the cream one. Can I???????

Dammit! That should have been to cope with those who haven't RTFT

me4real · 11/02/2022 18:19

Maybe if you accessorize with a different colour so it looks less slightly bride-y.

Furbulousnous · 11/02/2022 18:20

No. It’s not about you so calm down. You’ll look like a wannabe bride at your own sons’ wedding.
Get yourself a nice hat if you want to be froo froo

Thatbliddywoman · 11/02/2022 18:20

This thread has just really amused me.
I'm a lesbian
I dress pretty outrageouslytoo but I have toned it down a teeny bit since hitting late thirties.
I think that dress is fabulous and you and your son obviously have a great relationship. :) heartwarming 💖
I want to be your friend too OP Grin
Hope you have a fantastic day all of you.

Prettybubblesintheair · 11/02/2022 18:20

I love it! I don’t know if it’s weird but I wouldn’t wear it to a wedding where there was a bride (even in the red or floral) but considering there is no bride and the way you’ve described your personal style I think it’s amazing, you’re going to look fab! Have a wonderful day Flowers

payens · 11/02/2022 18:21

NO, NO, NO

Twospaniels · 11/02/2022 18:23

Absolutely not!

What are you thinking?

FontSnob · 11/02/2022 18:25

I love it! I love that you’ve ordered it and I hope that it makes you feel fucking awesome on. You and your son sound fabulous and I wish him and his husband a wonderful wedding day. Have fun!

MazzleDazzle · 11/02/2022 18:26

Fantastic!

Your son sounds lovely.

Hope you all have the best day.

Molly499 · 11/02/2022 18:30

@Crispynoodle

I found it very difficult to find a mother of the groom frock. I finally decided on the pale blue, it was comfortable and looked great. So good I did the same again for his sister this time in emerald.
Fabulous in emerald. The other dresses look just too ‘trying too hard’, desperate and tacky.
Lennybenny · 11/02/2022 18:30

@Kenworthington

When I read a really long thread- I highlight al the ops posts and read just them. Does NOOnE else do this?!

Fml

Anyway I am KNOWN for mad dress sense. It will NOT be a surprise.. it would be WEIRD if I wore a traditional mother of the groom outfit. I am even considering what boots I can get away with it.
Anyway that’s it.

I HAVE BOUGHT THE FUCKING DRESS

Me.....thats what I do every time... I read the posts so I know there is no bride and I know your ds thought it was fabulous and you've bought it! It's gorgeous and you and ds have great taste!
Snoopsnoggysnog · 11/02/2022 18:31

I absolutely love the one you ordered OP. Have a fabulous day all of you

Shona52 · 11/02/2022 18:31
@FeckTheMagicDragon there isn’t a bride!
Think this put a different spin on it. If your son and partner have no issue with it go for it. Enjoy the day it will be great whatever you wear 🥂🍾

MuffinStrops · 11/02/2022 18:32

It’ll look like you think you should be marrying your son. Very odd.

gingercat02 · 11/02/2022 18:33

Fuck me OP! What do you have to do. The dress is so not me but it fantabulous. Wear it, enjoy it, have an amazing day and post some pics

LittleMissTeacup · 11/02/2022 18:33

I think it’s lovely!
I normally would say not for a wedding, but I read the thread and since there’s no bride, I think it’s grand!

Chocolatehamper · 11/02/2022 18:33

@harriethoyle

Oh God - it looks like a toilet roll dolly from the top of the loo!
I was coming to say the same thing! Smile
HelloFrostyMorning · 11/02/2022 18:34

@Kenworthington

It doesn't matter if it's a GAY wedding. Hmm It's a WEDDING DRESS for a bride to wear.

Only the most EPIC attention-seeking-diva would wear that if they were not a bride. Plus it's a hella fugly dress.

And yeah I KNOW there is no bride, but you are clearly a massive attention seeker wearing this. The day should be about your son and his husband-to-be, not YOU. He is only being polite by saying he doesn't mind.

netflixfan · 11/02/2022 18:34

Im with MuffinStrops. You will be a laughing stock.

JackieLou · 11/02/2022 18:35

£450 to look like washed out big bird dragged through a hedge?!

WouldBeGood · 11/02/2022 18:35

I’m assuming this is a joke

THEDEACON · 11/02/2022 18:36

Don't be ridiculous too bridal and too young for MOG Your son and his partner should be the focus NOT you

Pleezgivemestrength · 11/02/2022 18:36

It's a beautiful dress. Love the floral one. I think you should be ok, as assuming the relevant couple,wont be a dress involved . Speak to your son, and ask what he thinks
