Before you all say don’t be ridiculous, you’ll look like the bride- there is no bride- it’s a gay wedding. I love this. lOVE it. Could get the floral one but of COURSE I want the cream one. Can I???????

@CantStartaFireWithoutaSpark

No don’t, unless you want to try and piss the bride off? If so, then you defo should.
Did you even read the op? You only had to manage 20 words.
PrincessNutella · 10/02/2022 23:27

Wow, if you wore that it would send a very strange message. Nice dress, but big no!!

Poppins2016 · 10/02/2022 23:30

Depending on the outcome of whether you like the floral dress, the dresses on this website might be worth a look: frockandfrill.com/

musketeersmama · 10/02/2022 23:34

Bloody love the dress & your attitude - have a fabulous wedding, you will look LUSH

milkyaqua · 10/02/2022 23:43

Even the model looks like she was caught in a blizzard in a doily factory. You risk looking like a sausage roll that has rolled around in fluff.

feelingfree17 · 10/02/2022 23:44

Absolutely love it!
Have a fabulous day all

Yoyokitten · 10/02/2022 23:46

Sorry OP Definately not.
Far too fluffy and bitty

NinaDefoe · 10/02/2022 23:46

It’s got the look of a swan lake costume that’s seen better days 🤭

LovelyYellowLabrador · 10/02/2022 23:49

Not unless you want to look
Like an attention seeking prat!!

Trethew · 10/02/2022 23:58

. I think you should run it past your son, as long as it won’t embarrass him go for it. A gay wedding is probably the only wedding you could wear it to. The floral one is messy, plain colour is better

Catra · 11/02/2022 00:12

Where will you be seated for the wedding breakfast? The top table or the top of a toilet roll?

Yearofthetygerburningbright · 11/02/2022 00:13

I haven't RTFT.

Presuming both grooms are planning to wear suits (it's not a given) I think it could be fine. OP will know if they are wearing relatively traditional grooms' attire or not, or can ask. I read an article not long ago that full-length gowns for MoTB was becoming a thing, so why not MoTG? It was more of an American thing apparently, that has found its way over here.

It does rather depend on several factors, including:

  • the overall style and formality (or not) of the wedding
  • the time of day and location of the wedding
  • whether it might overshadow whatever the grooms are wearing - it is their day and if they are understated it might be a bit much
-,whether it might cause confusion about who is who in the wedding party and how to handle this sensitively on the day or whether one or other groom is really shy or easily perturbed when stressed, and it would affect their day so it's best not to risk it)
  • how both grooms would feel about you choosing such a dress*, based on how they want their day to be, how it will fit in with the other attire of guests, and so on
  • whether it might clash, upstage or cause some other kerfuffle* with regard to what the other MotG is wearing or any groomsmaid/best woman.

*Yes you can wear what you want, of course, regardless. But, I think you come across as wanting to be sure on many levels. Or you wouldn't be asking Mumsnet.

I do like the dress, and it is nicest in cream, although I like it in red too and it depends on your colouring which others would be nicest on you. Is there a colour theme for wedding party for you to try to fit into? Or at least, not clash horribly with? It would look horrible on me as it's not the right shape and style for me. It could be perfect on you. So it's a definite 'maybe' from me Grin.

Yearofthetygerburningbright · 11/02/2022 00:16

Just looked. Personally I think the floral version is hideous.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 11/02/2022 00:21

@harriethoyle

Oh God - it looks like a toilet roll dolly from the top of the loo!
I'm sorry, it looks more to me like the toilet roll that wasn't under the dolly once the TwatCat has got to it.

Yes. It really does. Sorry, but it's hideous.

Yes that too or after being attacked by NeverDropYourMooncup's TwatCat
AuntTwacky · 11/02/2022 00:36

It's a wedding dress!

HalfGoddessHalfHell · 11/02/2022 00:52

Cream one reminds me somewhat of a 60's candlewick bed coverConfused

ladydimitrescu · 11/02/2022 00:53

Firstly op, you're fantastic and I'd like to be your friend. Can I come to the wedding?? 😅

Secondly, I'm glad you ordered what your heart was set on! You'll feel fabulous in it. Please show us when you try it on!

Twocrabs30 · 11/02/2022 01:01

Just no.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 11/02/2022 01:01

OP I love the dresses you've chosen. I'm worried the fluttery fabric may make you look much larger than you are. I've seen this one though - similar colour and floral pattern but in a more streamlined look. The cut is very flattering on an hourglass

AKASammyScrounge · 11/02/2022 01:21

@Kenworthington

Ha lol fair enough. I just bloody LOVE it. Hmmm, so not even in the floral????
Both are beautiful. I think the floral one is more suitable for this occasion -- the colours make it less bridal. Go on, get the one you like. It looks to be a flattering style with a touch of glam. Post us a pic of you wearing it.
Anonymouslyposting · 11/02/2022 07:34

100% not the cream one. I’m sure people have actually worn that as a wedding dress and it would look far far too much like one. I think the floral one is fine depending on the style of wedding.

Kenworthington · 11/02/2022 07:36

Good morning! Woken up to more frock love and more frock hate. Just shown dh. He thinks it’s really cool . So 👍🏼
