Before you all say don’t be ridiculous, you’ll look like the bride- there is no bride- it’s a gay wedding. I love this. lOVE it. Could get the floral one but of COURSE I want the cream one. Can I???????

Probably @whattodo2019 . I like to think it’s part of my charm.

Marimaur · 10/02/2022 22:43

Of course! It’s amazing

Kenworthington · 10/02/2022 22:44

Anyways it’s away past my bedtime and I need to be up for work in the morning so I can earn enough money to buy ludicrous loo-roll-cover dresses to satisfy my insane longing to marry my own child. Nighty night

I know you've already decided, but just wanted to say that it is perfect. It's flamboyant and fierce and will look great with all your tattoos cause you'll look so colourful (presuming they're colour!) I know what you mean about wearing sleeves due to being heavily tattooed, I am the same. However, I reckon even if you get hot and take your cover-up off, you'll still look fantastic and like a colouring book (this is a compliment I get lots in other countries. I hope it doesn't offend you!)

user1493494961 · 10/02/2022 22:51

I think you should go for the bin bag.

mistermagpie · 10/02/2022 22:52

@Kenworthington

Haha oh dear well I hope all the haters aren’t gonna be at the wedding. That’ll be awks. Oh well. I’ve provided you all with some light entertainment and suitable pearl-clutching so my job here is done. Genuinely I LOVE the dress. I’m ordering it in the floral. The red is nice but won’t go with the colour scheme. The ivory is clearly too bridal. I know this. However everyone also knows my son is not marrying his 46 year old mother as that’s illegal and weird. Also- as you may have seen half way through this thread- I sent him a link to the frock and he thinks it’s FABULOUS. So winner winner.
Good for you, I bet you look brilliant. You sound lovely!

I love the red, if I had anywhere to wear it and any money I would buy it, but the floral has grown on me since you first posted. Please post a pic when you get it, I'd love to see.

AppaTheSixLeggedFlyingBison · 10/02/2022 22:55

There's a red one, blue, pink, and floral. Why pick the one that might cause outrage

AppaTheSixLeggedFlyingBison · 10/02/2022 22:56

Unless it is a Hindu wedding (I am a Hindu myself), where you should avoid red (the bride's colour), but still white (a funeral colour)!

Aphantasia · 10/02/2022 22:58

@Kenworthington I’m going to get flamed bad for this but I BOUGHT THAT DRESS IN RED AND WORE IT TO A WEDDING LAST YEAR AS A GUEST (gasp! Horror!!) it’s fucking lush, it’s quite high waisted though so if you’ve a long back it won’t be flattering, and its long so you’ll need good high heels.
In my defence it was a small wedding and we’re all really good mates so I wasn’t in danger of upstaging anyone as no one cared.

Scbchl · 10/02/2022 22:59

I think it's great but I do think you would somewhat overshadow the couple in the pictures.

SRS29 · 10/02/2022 23:00

OP thread of the year...thank you...plus you'll look gorgeous I can just tell you will 😊

Thewindwhispers · 10/02/2022 23:00

You definitely can’t wear the cream one, you’ll look like you have massive psychological issues 🤣

You might be able to get away with the floral one if it’s a flamboyant wedding, depends what everyone else is wearing. If they’re all going to be very traditional then you will look a bit strange. Bug I suspect that you may not have very traditional friends in which case go for the floral

You mean no one thought you were trying to marry the groom?! I'm shocked 🤣

Winterautumn · 10/02/2022 23:00

The baby blue would be nice maybe not the Ivory though

Anyone who thinks a mother wearing a cream dress to her sons wedding makes it look like she wants to marry him has psychological issues.
peachgreen · 10/02/2022 23:06

Ohhhh it's so beautiful. Shamelessly placemarking for the photo.

Mamanyt · 10/02/2022 23:06

Ask the grooms. And if one of them is wearing a white tux, absolutely not (although that's fairly rare).

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 10/02/2022 23:09

@Kenworthington

Fuck it. I’m going to order it . In the floral. Eeeeek. I will look like a frilly toilet roll cover with some weird mummy/son issues. And I will be FABULOUS doing so
Rock it OP
coodawoodashooda · 10/02/2022 23:10

@BurntO

Ask them
Yes. Ask them.

Wolf and Badger have some amazing dresses without looking like wannabe brides/bridesmaids

slightlysnippy · 10/02/2022 23:14

Definitely not the white one, but if your tall and it's suits the glamour level of the wedding, don't see problem with the floral one.

Blossomtoes · 10/02/2022 23:17

If you want to look like a toilet roll cover do wear it. Not only is it ridiculous, it’s hideous too.

CantStartaFireWithoutaSpark · 10/02/2022 23:22

No don’t, unless you want to try and piss the bride off? If so, then you defo should.

OhGingleBells · 10/02/2022 23:23

I think the floral one could work if you had a big traditional ‘mother-of-the-groom’ style hat and carried a mumsy bag! Just so that you don’t look like a bride when you stand with your son!
