Love the trousers @ScottishMouse shame about the sizing, I never buy anything too tight on my waist, so uncomfortable, it would just sit in my wardrobe unworn.

Has anyone bought the Painted Gingham Kin dress? I see there’s a review saying it comes up really large.

TheChattyRat · 15/02/2022 21:52

Just jumping on with a random question - someone recommended a jewellery brand which has silver sculptural rings - it may have been @toastcosiloveit
Anyone have any ideas what it may be? I think the website was the designers name (a woman)

ToastCosILoveIt · 15/02/2022 21:55

This is the one I have recommended @TheChattyRat - www.sarahherriot.com/

TheChattyRat · 15/02/2022 22:23

Yes! That was the one, thanks

neveradullmoment99 · 15/02/2022 22:58

@Laska2Meryls

Neveradullmoment I think you could possibly size down .. it looks a bit big on you ..
I also agree with this but strangely its big at the bottom but not so much space up top. I think for the price I am going to return it. I've made a rule for myself that it has to be perfect and for me, it isn't. Thanks for all your helpful comments :)

Did anyone watch the Live? I thought it was good, but I wish they had included far more outfits, felt like a bit of a missed opportunity to me! It definitely made me consider the orange skirt as an option - maybe with a white linen shirt in the summer. I’ve ordered the grid check dress and the peacock linen dress so will report back once they arrive - hopefully tomorrow! Good to hear there’s another drop in March, annoying to have the drip-drip though.

ScottishMouse · 16/02/2022 13:48

I watched, but they didn’t feature any of the things I had my eye on.
Still thinking about that blue gingham shirt they showed with the big ruffle collar. I tried it on in store and it fitted so well, but I have visions of the collar blowing about in a breeze and me feeling a bit stupid having to keep adjusting it.

MrsCat1 · 16/02/2022 13:57

I watched it. That orange skirt is lovely but very expensive! I'm waiting for the March stock I think. At these prices things have to be fantastic to justify the price.

faustina · 16/02/2022 14:39

Just watched the video - did anyone else think it was a shame they used proper models, instead of Toast people?

ScottishMouse · 16/02/2022 14:57

Yes @faustina! I really didn’t like the proper models. The Toast staff are a little more variable in their body shapes, and added to it with a bit of chat too. I found using the proper models made the video a bit stiff.

Saurus72 · 16/02/2022 15:00

I think using models is ok if there is some variety of heights/sizes/ages etc which makes it more relatable.

faustina · 16/02/2022 15:32

They did spend longer at the end chatting, but yes, I missed the chat between the people wearing the clothes too. Having models (who were all the same kind of shape/height) made it a bit more formal

Stravaig · 16/02/2022 15:42

It's a bit odd to realise that although present day Toast is almost unrecognisable from early years Toast, one element has remained true throughout. Toast Woman has never had breasts. Diversity of height, age, ethnicity, yes; but breasts, curves, not once that I recall. It makes it so hard to visualise clothes on. Huge thanks to the community here for real life pics X

Countmeout · 16/02/2022 15:51

Yes I think a bigger variety of models would be more useful. The models were very tall. The orange skirt looks lovely.

Laska2Meryls · 16/02/2022 15:54

I'll do it (if I get an outfit thrown in as payment, if you are reading Toast...) I have boobs aplenty!

faustina · 16/02/2022 18:41

I have two different colours of the Novesta plimsolls arriving tomorrow (wind permitting). Couldn't decide which I preferred so have ordered the Sedlova which is a lovely pecan-y colour, and Sesame. It'll be my first swerve away from white, but there is so much mud here, I thought it might be worth a go!

Saurus72 · 17/02/2022 11:49

Hmm well my two dresses arrived. The green linen one is a definite no - the colour is amazing but the sleeves make me look like a rugby player and it’s too short.

The grid dress I’m unsure about. I don’t love it on first impressions but on the other hand, it might be a super useful wfh dress that is quite smart on zoom calls but also comfy. Plus I think I could wear it most of the year with/without layers etc. just not sure if that’s good enough to justify the price. Not sure if it’s something I will grow to live because it’s so useful. Also is it frumpy? Really not sure.

I actually just sent the grid dress back. I liked it but didn't love. Felt a bit like you. It had zero wow factor. I also didn't get on with the fabric. It felt scratchy. It's the sort of thing I'd be pleased to get in the sale.
It looks nice on you.
I like the green dress on you!

neveradullmoment99 · 17/02/2022 11:54

In fact, between the two, I prefer the green one.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/02/2022 11:56

Could you do a slight roll on the sleeves?
They don't look big in the photo.

Saurus72 · 17/02/2022 11:57

I know what you mean about the fabric. I don’t love the grid dress and am returning them both #decisive

neveradullmoment99 · 17/02/2022 11:57

Its funny because I lived the grid dress when I first tried it. Then tried it again and it felt too big.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/02/2022 11:58

I think its quite dull. I think I was pretty dissapointed with it when I took it out of the bag.
couldhavegonethen · 17/02/2022 13:12

My garment dyed dress in peacock has arrived. Opinion in my house is it’s lovely but too big. Not sure how it’s supposed to look ! Size is S.
