I saw that in store @neveradullmoment99, and really liked the colour. I like it on you. I wonder if it would look better with a higher necked top underneath (I just mean one that comes up higher than the dress), or a blouse/shirt?

ScottishMouse · 14/02/2022 19:49

@faustina, I will try and take one tomorrow. The light is no good here in the evening.

Yes, to be honest, I shoved it on with a scoop tee I had on. The colours aren't nice together. I have loads of other tops. It also looks nicer tied slightly tighter.
neveradullmoment99 · 14/02/2022 19:51

Thanks for your feedback.

faustina · 14/02/2022 19:53

@ScottishMouse - thank you!

@neveradullmoment99 - I agree with Scottish actually - try it with something higher necked ? It is a lovely colour

neveradullmoment99 · 14/02/2022 19:59

Yes, thank you👍
I think that will be so much better😃

AmethystMoonShine · 14/02/2022 21:30

I also love the colour @neveradullmoment99… it’s a colour that I suit also… but I can never pull off pinafores. Not really sure why but I always return them. Or when I have kept them they’ve ended up on eBay. I like it on you, the proportions are good…. Be good to experiment with lots of tops though. I wonder if a roll beck would work for chilly weather?

Countmeout · 15/02/2022 07:33

Yes lovely @neveradullmoment99. But agree with a different top. It’s a lovely colour and has great pockets.

Laska2Meryls · 15/02/2022 08:24

Neveradullmoment I think you could possibly size down .. it looks a bit big on you ..

ToastCosILoveIt · 15/02/2022 09:50

@neveradullmoment99, I agree with @Laska2Meryls, maybe a size down might be an option?

@couldhavegonethen, welcome: looking forward to hearing about your peacock coloured dress and will be interested re sizing. With the SML sizes it it very diffcult to prejudge. I am a high street 12 and am a S in the loungewear type garments from Toast (eg the loopback trousers and top) but do have a jumpsuit which I am a M in and wouldn't have been able to size down in.

Like everyone else, I am fed up of how they have drip fed the new stock. I would like to have seen it all loaded up in one hit. It is a pain scrolling through to see if anything else has been added.

ScottishMouse · 15/02/2022 10:10

Re new stock, they told me in store recently that deliveries have been all over the place. They have received some stock that is to launch in March but not everything that was to launch in January, for example. Brexit, covid, who knows…

couldhavegonethen · 15/02/2022 10:41

@ToastCosILoveIt. Thank you for the welcome. I’m a UK 10 so we shall see how the size works for me. My most recent purchases are from Bauken & Aspiga and all size S so hoping sizing will be similar. Will let you know. It’s on it’s way.

ScottishMouse · 15/02/2022 11:16

@faustina - photos for you. I’m thinking they look too big from the back, but the 6 is just far too small on the waist sadly.

I love them on you Scottishmouse Gorgeous colour ..

ToastCosILoveIt · 15/02/2022 14:28

I agree @ScottishMouse, they look fab on you. Interesting re the stock, not very good for their customers though....

ScottishMouse · 15/02/2022 14:35

Not too big on the bum? Be honest, I can take it! 🤣

Countmeout · 15/02/2022 14:38

I’m going to differ @ScottishMouse. I think they look too big from the back and as you said I’d be afraid of them stretching. Could you not do without breathing too much in the smaller size 😬? I’m a great believer in not breathing for the sake of style. The colour is lovely and would be useful with navy etc.
They are a very similar cut to the cotton twill side dart trousers which I tried. I’m going to wait for the green Alix which have been mentioned.

ScottishMouse · 15/02/2022 14:43

Thanks for being honest @Countmeout. I think you are right. I tried the 6 again this morning but there is no way I could wear them. I have ibs so have to be careful about tight waistbands.

ScottishMouse · 15/02/2022 14:45

I am going to wait for the green Alix too!

ToastCosILoveIt · 15/02/2022 15:36

I suppose I was concentrating on the front which looks fab. Now you say it, the bum is a bit baggy @ScottishMouse. I sometimes have this issue with Toast skirts and trousers, more so the skirts probably (the lovely patch pockey linen skirt is an example: snug on the waist in a 10 but swamps on the hips at a 12.

ScottishMouse · 15/02/2022 15:38

Yep @ToastCosILoveIt, they look good from the front. I often have this issue with trousers (from anywhere), where they look ok from the front but the bum looks baggy. My Alix trousers look like this too, but I think I can get away with it a bit more because of the dropped crotch.
I often despair when I can’t find trousers that fit well, and think I should start wearing more dresses or skirts.

faustina · 15/02/2022 15:57

They are a lovely colour @ScottishMouse, but I think you'll regret buying the 8 (speaking from bitter experience here ) - I think as they look a bit big, you lose the nice tapered-ness of them in the leg (hope that makes sense!) - at least with the Alix they're supposed to look like that

I would definitely second the suggestion that you look at Cos - and if you ever want some tapered joggers, the oatmeal ones from Kin are amazing. I've worn them every single evening bar one day off to wash them. I think we have a similar figure and they fit like a glove and hang really nicely (slightly balloon shaped)

ScottishMouse · 15/02/2022 15:59

Thanks @faustina. I did have a look at cos the other evening but didn’t see anything I fancied.
Will check out the Kin joggers, thanks for the tip. How do you find Kin trouser sizing? I have only ever tried a dress from Kin.

faustina · 15/02/2022 16:05

I find them a bit odd and not very comfortable mostly. I have a mistake pair which I bought and never wear - cotton balloon trousers - can't remember whether it's a 6 or an 8 - I'll look later. Beautifully made, but very high waisted on me and they just feel; as if they're made for a bigger size and they haven't adjusted them down properly for a smaller size. Same with the denim balloon trousers which I tried and returned. Such a shame as they have a great little buckle at the back and everything!
