@Laska2Meryls

Happy birthday Nanasue what a fab present!
Thank you❤️❤️
Countmeout · 28/01/2022 18:32

Thank you @neveradullmoment99. I think both the oil and terracotta will work well with a T-shirt in summer. Certainly could have done with tights or leggings underneath today.

Yes Happy Birthday @Nanasueathome that’s a lovely gift. Lovely to look forward to spending it.

I wonder is Toast trying to make the brand more exclusive by taking it out of John Lewis and hiking prices. The sale never was in shops either, did I read that somewhere?

Laska2Meryls · 28/01/2022 20:40

Could be Countmeout , When I was in Barh store, I picked up the crinkle trousers that I had ordered and thinking that they didn't have a sake sticker.. but now I think of it there were no sale things highlighted in the shop, but there certainly were some things there that were in the sale.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/01/2022 20:54

I read they don't do sales in their stores? Only online? Can't remember where I read that.

Laska2Meryls · 28/01/2022 20:57

Bath store! And sadly no Sake stickers ( I could have done with a pick me up!)
Sorry tired typing..
. Ive been up crack of dawn..

mizu · 28/01/2022 21:08

They definitely used to do sales in their actual shops.

Nanasueathome · 29/01/2022 08:48

My Toast gift cards came in little cloth bags.
Very impressed
I’d not had gift cards before as previously you could only use them in an actual Toast store. That’s all changed now though.

Happy Birthday @Nanasueathome and enjoy spending the gift vouchers. They do look lovely in their little Toast bags!

I am wearing the navy blouse from last season with the big frill tan embroidered edge collar. I have it on with a pair of wide and very slightly cropped M and S jeans from a while back. I haven't worn this blouse much but when I put it on this am I wondered why I hadn't because it feels and looks lovely.

ilovecherries · 29/01/2022 11:03

I am wearing that blouse today as well toast. I’ve got mine on with navy jersey wide leg trousers from JL.

I’m in a bit of Toast today too. The ginger cord pleat front skirt with an ancient black cashmere roll neck jumper and my old black wool Toast cape. I’m currently sitting in River Island waiting for my daughter to emerge from the changing room….. we have very different taste Grin

TheChattyRat · 29/01/2022 11:56

Ooh I'm also toasting in old slate balloon trousers and swingy charcoal cardigan. I love hearing (and seeing how people wear their toast).
I just looked at toast website on my pc and some sale items are still in my basket. I am quite tempted to press 'buy' Smile
Did anyone but the nordic jumper and lam skirt?

TheChattyRat · 29/01/2022 12:03

I've also got my brand alley bargain cheaney brogues on, thanks to a recommendation from @SmaugMum

applecatchers36 · 29/01/2022 12:07

Also fairly toasty today. In my Toast dungarees and cardy, breaking it up with my jigsaw tweed coat but an old Toast bag. Hoping to get out in the bright ⛅ sunshine for a walk with friends this afternoon.

SmaugMum · 29/01/2022 16:08

And then there was none. A search for Toast on the JL website has returned the attached terms only.

I have been wearing Jude wool check trousers (JL 70 per cent off) and marzipan lace yolk neck sweater, plus Fracap Explorer boots and Uniqlo +J down coat to take the children to their various activities (and mooch for books and treasure in the local charity shops). Now I’m ensconced back at home, I’m wearing my ginger double cotton nightie, an ancient kimono gown, a big cashmere wrap, long socks and Birkenstock shearling clogs (boiler problems!)

missmoon · 29/01/2022 16:37

I also came on to say that there seems to be no Toast on the John Lewis website any more. I wonder if it’s the same in the physical shops?

mizu · 29/01/2022 16:40

I'm in pretty much all TOAST too - Jesse dungarees with roll neck striped TOAST long sleeved top.

With Nike high tops Grin

faustina · 29/01/2022 16:41

It's a sad day

.. on a slightly brighter note, Kin have a nice denim jacket which I just ordered (in two sizes to take advantage of the £15 discount offer)

@SmaugMum - I hope your boiler gets fixed soon - it's too cold for that kind of thing!

Stoic123 · 29/01/2022 16:56

I bought the last seed dress from JL this morning to feel part of JL's Toast swansong. I've tried it on in a shop and think I quite liked it - but that was a while ago. Jan salary just landed in my account and £75 seemed a bargain compared with the prices for new season.

If I retun it, Toast JL may come back briefly.

Countmeout · 29/01/2022 17:14

I wonder will the pink dress resurface a few more times on JL yet!

SmaugMum · 29/01/2022 17:46

@faustina, I know, it’s blowing an absolute hooley here; I keep thinking the storm has forced my doors or windows open but it’s just the wind stealing in through the locks. I am rather pleased at my foresight in ordering a pair of Brora cashmere fingerless gloves in the JL sale - I’m just off to click and collect (but I need to get dressed first!)
TerrierOrTerror · 29/01/2022 19:57

Went into the Richmond store today, didn't buy anything as my dog did decide the curtained changing room wasn't for her, but I have added lots to my wishlist. I did manage to try on a pair of size 10 cord Gabi's and can conclude they do not fit! I have also decide that the Oil colour isn't what I need in my wardrobe right now, gorgeous though it is!

I saw a beautiful Ochre cardigan, it is gorgeous, so soft. But at £195 it has to be a sale purchase. I also loved a couple of other bits of knitwear, the cord pinafore and I absolutely need an apron at some point!

There was also a green jacket/coat which is definitely not online. It was more outdoorsy, like a short parka. Very much a fan!

Stoic123 · 30/01/2022 15:08

Collected the seed check dress from Waitrose (so easy to do!) and will be keeping it. Not super elegant but very comfortable and usual high quality.

Goodbye Toast at JL 😩

Very nice Stoic. Lovely colour blue on you.

alliscalm · 30/01/2022 15:46

I went to Llandeilo yesterday and bought an Egll blue check shirt. They had a lot of gorgeous tweed coats. One I tried on pulled slightly so they rang Kilver Court and they are posting the next size to me. I’m hoping it will be ok as I’ve been searching for one for ages. Also went to the full price section and the colours of the new stock are amazing. Loved the Vale dress and the spring check shirt.
