I should add that it looks fabulous on AFingerofFudge but she has the colouring and figure for it! I'm a washed out, dumpy oldie with grey hair.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/01/2022 10:36

@ToastCosILoveIt

I see the Vale shirt has sold out online already.
The price is reasonable for Toast considering the green spring ruffle neck shirt. £175 is a ridiculous price. The green spring ruffle is gorgeous though and I do love it but not enough to buy it at £175
neveradullmoment99 · 27/01/2022 10:37

Do love the chambray shirt though. Its also not too ridiculous a price for Toast. You have that @ToastCosILoveIt?

ToastCosILoveIt · 27/01/2022 11:00

@ToastCosILoveIt

I daren't go near another Toast shop to sus out the beaded shirt for us all: every time i cross the threshold, I spend more money Blush. Thankfully the colour of the shirt itself is one that is very draining on me, but the beaded collar might just lift it so that it suits my complexion!
Yes, I have the chambray shirt. It's in the wash. I've worn it twice already. I love it. A review on the website said it's true to size but I went down to a 10 and it's plenty roomy.

Oops, that reply above was to @neveradullmoment99

Countmeout · 27/01/2022 11:08

Thanks @Gonegrey31 it was me who asked the colours.
Hope the video goes ahead in February, maybe they’ll have more things by then.

I got it. Its gorgeous!
neveradullmoment99 · 27/01/2022 11:17

I mean I got your message. Not the shirt! Smile

neveradullmoment99 · 27/01/2022 11:18

I love it and would consider it but I am kind of hanging out to see if they add more things as currently, there isn't too much I like on the website!

neveradullmoment99 · 27/01/2022 11:19

I would be very annoyed to order it and then see something I love even more. I bought loads last season and lots at full price only to see them being reduced heavily. This time, I am definitely going to be more selective.

ToastCosILoveIt · 27/01/2022 11:34

@neveradullmoment99, I try to be selective too. I go into the shop to bulk try on and decide what I want to buy in the future but a couple of pieces always slip into my basket while in the store! The store is terrible for temptation in that it displays the clothes beautifully, the asistants are all wearing them and looking fab and of course they are very complimentary when you come out of the changing room to ask for sizing advice (all part of the hard sell, I know). It is like a complete assault on all of your Toast senses when you go in there: plus, some of the things that look so so on the web, look fabulous in the flesh. Of course the same thing also applies in reverse too - my last visit cured me of the itch for the thick cords and the check alix trousers. But, I ended up with the vive la diffference freeway bag which has been in and out of my online basket for months.

For those of you who haven't tried the Toast belts - I would definitely recommend the jeans belt. I have had the black one for a couple of years and it is great quality. I keep meaning to buy the brown one.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/01/2022 11:44

@ToastCosILoveIt thank goodness my nearest Toast is quite far!
I would be SO tempted!
I can quite believe that going into one of the shops would leave me bankrupt!!!! Ive seen the way they are set out on instagram and that is tempting enough.
I love the viva bag. Its gorgeous too. Love the new one as well.

ScottishMouse · 27/01/2022 13:19

@neveradullmoment99, I think there will be new stuff added online in the next few days. When I was in the Edinburgh store yesterday, they were unpacking lots of boxes, and the things they were taking out, while I didn’t get a proper look at mostly, were definitely new and not online.
I would also second the jeans belt that @ToastCosILoveIt mentions. I have the brown and wear it with all my trousers, and have also worn it with a dress too. Classic but a wee bit different, and the brown colour is very nice.

ScottishMouse · 27/01/2022 13:21

I often find going to the store a bit frustrating, as they tend not to have many sizes. I wanted to try 5 or 6 things yesterday, thinking that would save me placing a big order and sending some/most back, but they only had one of the things I wanted to try in my size, so it didn’t really help.

Saurus72 · 27/01/2022 13:43

Yes, this was the benefit of it being stocked in JL, much better range of sizes available.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/01/2022 14:08

Are they definitely not stocking it online in JL? I know they have ceased doing it in store. So far, nothing has been added on JL. It certainly looks like they are not.

Sounds good :)

Saurus72 · 27/01/2022 15:02

@neveradullmoment99 well don’t know about online, however the value for me was being able to go to JL in Cambridge to try on stuff, and then wandering across to the Toast store for anything not at JL. It’s a real bummer for them not to be in that JL anymore.

faustina · 27/01/2022 15:23

It was good to see and try them there - but it was also great to be able to order online and pick up the next day at Waitrose - with an equally fuss free return. I'll miss that too

Laska2Meryls · 27/01/2022 15:36

.... delivery and returns definitely... but the price match when they further reduced the sale stuff was the best !

Saurus72 · 27/01/2022 16:11

Yep definitely click and collect will really be missed. I hope JL survive - the £15 discount they’re currently running doesn’t necessarily bode well.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/01/2022 16:14

loved click and collect. I wonder why they aren't stocking Toast in shops? Maybe its a bit marmite?

Countmeout · 27/01/2022 16:53

Yes I think it’s a bit niche maybe for them and if prices continue to rise they couldn’t risk being left with a lot of stock.
I have no John Lewis either so I’m stuck with online anyway.

ScottishMouse · 27/01/2022 17:28

This is the nice new jacket I saw them unpacking in Edinburgh yesterday.

I find this, too - frustrating
