As I need inspiration to look after myself more but I hardly know where to begin other than I need to lose weight!

Hoping to get ideas from others as I'm not really into fashion and beauty and hoping to change this (within budget of course!)

Yes please can I join.

Inconsistency is my theme and it's mostly on the side of not looking after myself.

Diet could be better if I'm being completely honest. I also just tried to go for a walk and my preschooler point blank refused to get out of the car when we got to the woods 😂. It isn't very nice weather and it actually looked a bit dark up there, so I turned round and came home again. Brilliant 🙄😂

On the plus side, I fake tanned and it wasn't a total disaster. I'm definitely more tanned and can't see any major issues with evenness

@heelforheelandtoefortoe
Hello!
Have been for family lunch today, wore proper makeup and a dressy skirt (dressed it down with black boots and leather jacket)
Planning a soak in the bath in a bit.
Hope you’re day is going well Smile

Bessica1970 · 02/01/2022 16:32

Downloaded the Lumea app today so I don’t forget to do my top-ups.

I’ve stuck to my tick list so far with all my daily to-dos apart from steps. I’ve been doing hardly any during these holidays. Back at work on Tuesday though, so the steps will pick back up then.

NameChangeCity123 · 02/01/2022 17:55

Made an effort headgears with new dress, make up, jewellery, heels and painted nails and
Received lots of nice compliments. Was a real confidence boost. Hope everyone is doing well

@Katyppp

I have drastically cleared out my wardrobe as I am having a go at project 333. I have now 10 items hanging up. Including two scarves and a handbag. I have lots of new sales purchases ready to be assessed but I am still waiting for more deliveries before I decide what to keep. It is focusing my mind on what to keep and I LOVE the structure of rejecting large swathes of clothing websites as they clothes are the wrong colour for me.
What's project 333?
postivity · 02/01/2022 18:39

Is there a general summary of what joining in this thread actually means if we haven't come across it before?

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 02/01/2022 18:50

Good evening, I started the day amazingly well with my first yoga session of the year. Breakfast was healthy, dinner was healthy but lunch was not so as it was ds3s birthday party and too much naughty food. But I also knew today wouldn’t be great, it was a special day so that’s ok. Also my phone usage today is well below my usual usage and I’ve read lots of my book instead. But my clothes, make up, hair are not very great.
Might paint my nails tonight.
I have a babyliss big hair and when I use it it makes my hair look incredible but it takes like double the amount of time that it does to straighten it so I rarely use it. This months goal is to use it at least 4 times (so once per week minimum).

GiveYourHeadAWobble · 02/01/2022 19:08

I wore makeup today, cleaned and filed my nails (but didn’t paint them) and even wore a half-decent outfit to Pilates!
My diet has been ok, and I haven’t drunk enough water today, but I’m making a start.

Really it is about self care and looking and feeling better (using products we may have but never use perhaps)

Water. Perhaps vitamins. Skincare. Clothes.

vjg13 · 02/01/2022 19:56

Tried the YWA and found it tricky, will persevere!

IDKAYBIF32 · 02/01/2022 20:13

@postivity

The original thread where the concept of 'princessing' started:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/1156122-Project-Princess

It's basically whatever you what it to be, a self care motivation/accountability thread. You can make your own list of things that you would like to change or do, or just scroll through for ideas.

postivity · 02/01/2022 21:35

Thanks.

Today I had two showers if that counts.

I've put body lotion on my arms and toner and oil stuff on my face for bed.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/01/2022 22:31

positivity there's a theory that if you do something for 21 days it becomes a habit .

I used my very nice Liz Earle shampoo and conditioner today in the shower . I have the LE Hair Oil too so I'll put some of that one tomorrow .
I need to thnk beyond just rieing my hair back (at work it is tied and I wear a nifty little paper mob-cap ....I know , fetching eh ? )

I used to keep a buffer by my home computer so if I had a couple of minutes I'd give my nails a once over I can only be bothered doing a couple at a time .

Water I drink by the tonne , I get hot flushes .
Coffee I need to cut down on ( I don;t drink it at work ) so I've changed to a smaller cup .
Little changes I can cope with and continue .

My good changes for life 2022 will start tomorrow , I'm in isolation (Covid) till tomorrow evening ( what a fun Christmas this has been Xmas Hmm )

Once I;m able to get out I'l buy some new underwear ( like my Grandmother used to tell my Dad , if you get taken to hospital always make sure you have clean undewear on. Mine is always clean, I just need to make sure I wouldn't be mortified if I ended up in A&E wearing it )

Katyppp · 02/01/2022 22:57

@NameChangeCity123. I found it a couple of days, ago when I was reading up on creating a capsule wardrobe

Basically, 333 stands for 3 months with 33 items of clothing.
So you pare your wardrobe down to 33 items, including shoes, coats and accessories and you reassess every three months with the seasons.
My first three months is running from 1 Jan to 31 March.

SocksAndTheCity · 02/01/2022 23:05

I went to the gym and had a swim and sauna too; I also remembered to put on body lotion which I always mean to and hardly ever do.

I also didn't eat too much crap today and I did my Dr Dennis Gross peel pad things when I got in from going to see West Side Story again. Tomorrow I'm going to dig out my Nutribullet and start the new Yoga With Adrienne, since I forgot all about it today.

PrincessPorter · 03/01/2022 08:28

I thought I posted last night? Apparently not? Great thread. I rejoined for this thread after trouncing years ago after a security breach!

PrincessPorter · 03/01/2022 08:30

*flouncing I am having more trouble re getting to grips with this than I was expecting!

AlDanvers · 03/01/2022 08:33

So this morning I have had a shower, used body moisturiser, put make up on and placed a chantcaille order in.

I didn't get a foundation as I have just bought one and I am determined to actually use products up before trying something else.

But I will next time and, hopefully, by putting make on more often I will use it quicker.

PrincessPorter · 03/01/2022 08:37

Well done Alldanvers. I hope that's helped you feel a bit better. I was really sorry to hear about your Mum reading the thread. Also waiting for updates on the baby, was that regina?

ReginaaPhalange · 03/01/2022 08:41

@PrincessPorter yes it was me :) i was induced last night at 11pm! Regular cramps from the pessary but think it'll still be a day or two at the least x

PrincessPorter · 03/01/2022 08:43

Oooh exciting! I was induced with three of mine, went very very fast with one in the end! Is it your first?

ReginaaPhalange · 03/01/2022 08:51

@PrincessPorter yeah my first :) very nervous

PrincessPorter · 03/01/2022 08:55

Aw bless you! It'll be nice, new year, new baby, we may need to think of some high speed princessing for you though! Have you got people to help you afterwards?
