TOAST

Now I never thought I'd say this, not until my mid 40's at least, but I feel like celebrating the wonders of TOAST! I'm not sure I'm game for the wintry stuff but their summer dresses are just perfect. For years I've longed for the undone, easy linen look but usually end up looking like a sack of potatoes... not this summer my friends!

My dad earlier said I looked "outrageously well sorted" in my new orange linen number - I think he meant well put together, and I've just got the navy on sale on JL. Yipppeeeee!

Railings - that dress looks gorgeous, very glam!

Bernice - fantastic summer dress, looks fabulous.

I really hope JL isn’t ending its Toast concession, I don’t leave very near a shop so it’s a great way to see the fabrics before I buy.

ilovecherries · 15/06/2020 19:10

I’ve just put in a price match for the Anni dress. There were other hints that I know were further reduced, but they’ve removed them from the website so you can no longer see the final price.

GazeboParty · 15/06/2020 19:10

@Railingsohno

Crosshatch dress arrived. So lovely! Quite creased but I can live with that. The pleating at the back is beautiful. It doesn’t gape but it is a bit dangerous when I move around! I might get a bra that’s more a vest top/bralette rather than wearing a full camisole.
It's beautiful - what about a press stud?
Moominmammaatsea · 15/06/2020 19:15

@ilovecherries, if you’ve other items that have been further reduced, simply refer back to the Toast website for the original selling price and then work out the new and final price at 70 per cent off. Apologies if I’m teaching my grandma to suck eggs!

Alsohuman · 15/06/2020 19:27

I’ve just applied for a refund too. They’re going to be cursing us!

Moominmammaatsea · 15/06/2020 19:29

Yes, I think my name will be on a JL hit list! 😂 Anyway, I’m pleased to have saved my fellow Mumsnetters some pennies - that I’m sure they will reinvest in Toast and JL. God willing both make it through the pandemic in good shape.

Countmeout · 15/06/2020 19:48

@Moominmammaatsea oooh that’s interesting

ilovecherries · 15/06/2020 19:59

Omg. JL has just refunded me £75 via price match for the sale items. It would never even have occurred to me to do that. And within 30 mins, too.

ilovecherries · 15/06/2020 20:00

Moomin- thanks for advice, will try that. It’s made a dress I was dithering about a no brainier now.

Countmeout · 15/06/2020 20:01

@BerniceBobsHerHair I bought it too and find it flattens a bit but it’s a beautiful dress.
I have claimed the price match but I’m not sure I’ve done it right. Will have to see what happens.

Railingsohno · 15/06/2020 20:31

@GazeboParty thanks! I think a press stud might pull a bit and affect the nice flowing look. I’ll try a higher cut bra and see what that looks like.

SirVixofVixHall · 15/06/2020 20:37

It looks so much nicer on you than on me railings . Did you size up ?
I am a 28GG bra, so gaping not good .😢

Alsohuman · 15/06/2020 20:40

Fuck a duck, I’ve got a refund too! So I got the dress currently selling for £130 on the Toast site for £39! This thread rocks. Thank you.

Railingsohno · 15/06/2020 20:42

It’s a shame it wasn’t for you. You sound more hourglass than me. I’m quite straight up and down. I’m in a 8 - my normal Toast size.
Whatthefoxgoingon · 15/06/2020 20:42

Ahaha we made out like bandits Grin

Sorry JL. But I promise I will come back and spend more money on Toast from you in the future!

Thank you! I’m very happy with it. And there ends my Toast purchases (for now!)
Railingsohno · 15/06/2020 20:45

@BerniceBobsHerHair

Wonder if anyone on here could help - I bought the kado dress at JL before the final reductions. Am keen to try to get the difference as another poster has managed it but I don't remember what price the dress went down to. It's no longer on JL website. Does anyone else have it? I love the print but finding the bodice seems to flatten my chest down. Love that cross hatch dress railings Been lurking on this thread a while but it's not good for the bank balance. Another brand i think is toast like which I don't think I've seen yet is kate sheridan. Margaret howell is the dream though!
That’s a lovely dress! Looks fab!
Whatthefoxgoingon · 15/06/2020 20:54

@Railingsohno
@BerniceBobsHerHair

You both look FABULOUS in your new dresses.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 15/06/2020 21:06

Thanks everyone. I also got the extra discount refunded back. I like the idea of reinvesting it in more toast Grin

ilovecherries · 15/06/2020 22:55

Does anyone know if the garment dyed linen dress, the checked Zoya, or the pintuck shirt went down in price?

GazeboParty · 15/06/2020 23:11

@BerniceBobsHerHair had to listen to your song this evening - love it!

Alsohuman · 15/06/2020 23:17

Yes, after refund, I paid £39 for the garment dyed linen dress. It was originally half price.
ilovecherries · 15/06/2020 23:20

Excellent, human, thank you. Will do that one in the morning.

Alsohuman · 15/06/2020 23:25

Does this mean you’re not sending anything back? 😜
ilovecherries · 15/06/2020 23:58

Wellll. It’s almost getting to the point where it would be rude and ungrateful to return them, don’t you think Grin?
