TOAST

Now I never thought I'd say this, not until my mid 40's at least, but I feel like celebrating the wonders of TOAST! I'm not sure I'm game for the wintry stuff but their summer dresses are just perfect. For years I've longed for the undone, easy linen look but usually end up looking like a sack of potatoes... not this summer my friends!

My dad earlier said I looked "outrageously well sorted" in my new orange linen number - I think he meant well put together, and I've just got the navy on sale on JL. Yipppeeeee!

I don’t think she’s wearing leggings but slim trousers.

SirVixofVixHall · 10/06/2020 18:13

Count which jeans are they ? I like a side zip.

GazeboParty · 10/06/2020 18:16

I've decided to return the honeycomb jacket to JLP - it was a total bargain at less than half price but I couldn't make it work, it's beautiful and feels very special but it is not something I am going to be able to wear very often so that's it.
Have ordered www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+sale+skirts/c3lbc/freya+cotton+linen+wrap+skirt.htm?clr=C3LBC_Parchment_sw from JLP but it's not arrived yet.

GazeboParty · 10/06/2020 18:23

Also ordered this this is a direct replacement of a cheapy from H&M which I have literally wore to death - I love the deep cuffs.

Countmeout · 10/06/2020 19:24

@SirVixofVixHall I think they were described as balloon leg. I would have needed to be 2 or so inches taller too. So I’ve returned them they should reappear at some point, size 10.

AmethystMoonShine · 10/06/2020 19:32

For those that liked the mustard fair aisle sweater.... it’s back in stock in a M!

AmethystMoonShine · 10/06/2020 19:33

Arghhh! Isle not aisle Blush

friendlyflicka · 10/06/2020 19:49

I know the clothes are made of nice natural materials etc, but my heart sinks every time I see their clothes either online or in the shop. There is something so droopy and depressing about the clothes en masse

HieronymusBoschLAPD · 10/06/2020 20:26

Thank you, @Yorkshirelass04, I'm sorely tempted! I think I'd go with the blue, too - much easier to put other things with navy than mustard.

Those pictures of the check dress are lovely. You'll have to have another try on Cherries!

simplificate · 10/06/2020 21:10

I returned the honeycomb jacket too. It is lovely but those washed out orangey colours made me look unwell! I hope they do it again in navies or greens maybe

GazeboParty · 10/06/2020 21:31

@simplificate oranges usually look great on me - I don't know what it was.

SirVixofVixHall · 10/06/2020 22:05

Thank you Count that is the size I need I think ! Maybe I will get lucky. I can only see balloon leg denim trousers online that have a front zip though.

Railingsohno · 10/06/2020 22:15

@AmethystMoonShine it’s so random when the stuff gets added!

SteakDiane · 10/06/2020 22:37

Love that striped shirt Gazebo. Shame about the honeycomb jacket but sounds like the right decision. I'm trying to be stricter about only buying/keeping things that are useful, not just pleasing to look at hanging in the wardrobe. My new Toast trousers are doing well on that count - I've worn them every time I've left the house (this is admittedly not much). Fancy silk shirt less so, but hoping it'll come into its own post-lockdown.

Is it the balloon shape you were after with the Kin jeans countmeout? Levi's do a balloon leg I like, though they're tapered. More like the Whistles barrel leg jeans, which I also really like. Very comfy and flattering.

ilovecherries · 10/06/2020 22:47

The stripe shirt is gorgeous, gazebo. I like it in the yellow as well.

AmethystMoonShine · 11/06/2020 04:11

@Railingsohno it is isn’t it?! I guess things literally pop up back in their inventory as returns are processed. Some companies seem to do it first thing, say around 9am but a Toast it truly random.... adds to the excitement Grin

Countmeout · 11/06/2020 08:04

@SteakDiane I was just looking for something to move on from skinnies. I think I’m going to leave it until autumn now. I have spent enough and I’ll not wear them until then. I though the Kin ones might have worked but I could believe how heavy they were - and I don’t think side fastening is for me, too much wrestling to get them done up.

Pity about the honeycomb jacket @simplificate it looks lovely .

Floisme · 11/06/2020 08:38

I've resisted all the sales trousers as I'm holding out for my current season faves to get reduced. But I've sent for the Solovair hiker boots. They're not exactly a seasonal buy but hopefully it means I can get them broken in by autumn. Sorry I can't link as they're now sold out.
Solovair are one of my favourite shoe brands so I was really pleased when they started doing a line for Toast - the dream team!

I imagine the extended return period will be slowing down the re-stocking. A lot of people will wait and see what happens with lockdown and the weather before deciding whether to keep or return.

Railingsohno · 11/06/2020 09:13

I got a few things from Arket. I do struggle a bit with the lack of waist in Toast as although I’m slim I have big shoulders and the straight shape does nothing for me.

I got this skirt which I love and hopefully will be good with a fitted top tucked in

Also these trousers, I wanted to experiment with a different shape.

And this cardigan

Railingsohno · 11/06/2020 09:15

I’m interested in the barrel jeans from Whistles. I really need to get away from skinnies but straight leg is not as flattering - short and stocky my husband said the Top Shop ones made me look. Haha- and I’m a 8/10!!!! I did ask for his honest opinion Grin

Floisme · 11/06/2020 09:18

I'm no longer a Whistles fan but I love their barrel jeans. They're narrower in the leg than the Kin and Cos ones.

Railingsohno · 11/06/2020 09:31

Thanks @Floisme I think I’ll try them. How are they size wise?

ilovecherries · 11/06/2020 09:38

I have dark blue and black in the Whistles barrel jeans - got them in a half price promotion in the autumn. I wear a 30 (In a size 12). I like them, they are high waisted, so hold everything in, and I like the change of outline compared to skinnies. Having said that, I do find more thought needs to be given to styling them. My standard winter chunky loose jumper doesn’t look right with them, and they poke out of outerwear in a disturbing way.

ilovecherries · 11/06/2020 09:43

Love the Arket cardi railing. I love a good cardigan. I got a very similar Baukjen one from Brand Alley last year that is never off my back.

mouldygrapes · 11/06/2020 09:45

I had a green jumper dress from them last year which was amazing, I always got loads of compliments till I accidentally shrank it in the wash and buggered it.
I have just ordered the Toast tie neck dress in the sale. The fabric looks beautiful, I hope it suits me
