Yes, @chocolatesaltyballs22 it's the palm.

I liked the elephant but thought it looked a bit blue-ish and I already have a couple of blue bags. I like the colour though, a good neutral so should get plenty of wear eventually!

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 18/05/2020 19:27

Gah! My 16 year old has just told me the bag in elephant looks 'a bit grannyish'!!! Still haven't ordered...

Ninkanink · 18/05/2020 19:33

Your 16 year old is supposed to think that.

It’s not grannyish, it’s classic. The fashionable youth generally don’t understand timelessness...

Ninkanink · 18/05/2020 19:34

But...I’m not sure you actually love it. If you truly loved it you wouldn’t be persuaded otherwise so easily. So maybe there’s a better option out there for you.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 18/05/2020 19:40

You are very wise.... The truth is I want that bag in black. But it's not in the sale.

makingmyway10 · 18/05/2020 19:43

Therein lies the truth Chocolatesaltyballs22 Grin

Ninkanink · 18/05/2020 19:47

Then wait and buy it in black if it ever goes in the sale (not likely, I guess) or just go ahead and buy it now at full price. It absolutely is not worth it if you don’t really love everything about the bag. You’re just cheating yourself out of really enjoying it, and blowing a load of money for less than total satisfaction. Not worth it!

Rebelwithallthecause · 18/05/2020 20:00

My problem is I can’t decide on a colour and love them all. I’d have them
In all colours!!

Green, Orange, bright blue, dark blue, yellow...

How can I ever choose??

Ninkanink · 18/05/2020 20:08

I have the same problem. If I love a bag I usually love it in many colours.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 18/05/2020 20:25

I have to picture stuff with my clothes!

Now looking at the Darley satchel in dark Palm. I think there's a gap in my handbag collection for a small bag in earthy tones!

OP posts:
makingmyway10 · 18/05/2020 20:53

Chocolatesaltyballs22 that is a great choice.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 19/05/2020 13:56

Any more deliveries today? I'm still deliberating. Am boring myself with it now!

OP posts:
Ninkanink · 19/05/2020 14:14

Perhaps there’s nothing you really love this time? Park the money in your handbag fund (so it doesn’t get spent elsewhere - or maybe that’s just me) and keep it until there’s something you actually want...That way you’ll have twice as much to play with by the time the next Mulberry sale rolls around!

Bananabixfloof · 19/05/2020 14:44

Well I wasn't in a buying handbag phase but the small hampstead is just my style in the bright navy at £477.
I love it in deep amber too at full price. Sadly I cant afford both. So it'll probably be navy.

Sigh.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 19/05/2020 14:49

The navy is great and will go with loads, I really like that bag style too.

OP posts:
Ninkanink · 19/05/2020 14:50

I love the deep amber. I’ve got a Millie in that colour on my list for sometime in the future.

If you wear white, denim, navy or black a lot, or at least navy/black/burgundy/olive or khaki outerwear, I’d definitely get it in the Amber rather than the navy...a little more interesting, I think. And it works for summer and winter. It would add such a nice pop of colour and brightness to dark, gloomy winter days.

Ninkanink · 19/05/2020 14:51

Oh missed that the amber is at full price...

Bananabixfloof · 19/05/2020 14:58

Oh I was wrong the amber is £516 in the sale. So actually I can do both but that seems silly. I should buy a small hampstead in amber and something else. I think.

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 19/05/2020 15:02

The problem I have is I keep changing my mind ! Hampstead owners, does it do up ok after a while? I've had draw string type bags before and they've ended up getting looser and not closing properly over time. But they were cheap and chearful, so thought perhaps the Mulberry one would work better...

Rebelwithallthecause · 19/05/2020 15:29

I’m liking the small Hampstead too

Anyone bought one yet?

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 19/05/2020 15:41

Never had one so can't advise, sorry!

OP posts:
Ninkanink · 19/05/2020 15:48

I’ve not had a Hampstead either, sorry. But I haven’t heard of any problems with the closure. I guess you could see if there are any reviews on YouTube.

sammylady37 · 19/05/2020 16:37

I have a Hampstead, the large size one. I love it but the drawstring/closure isn’t great-tbh I wouldn’t bring it if I was going on a train or a crowded place as could get pick-pocketed. It suits me fine for work cos I drive there and then mostly leave it on my office floor or at most am carrying it from office to the ward, so low risk in terms of getting robbed!

makingmyway10 · 19/05/2020 21:32

My Abbey arrived this afternoon. It is just what I expected but I don’t love it as much as my other Mulberry bags. I don’t know why, the leather is lovely , it sits beautifully and is a good size . I think it’s the colour, I played it safe with oak and I have a few oak bags, I probably should have gone for a bright colour but I wanted something I could use All year round and with everything. A casual grab as you go. The last Mulberry I bought was a pink Bayswater and I LOVE it! So perhaps that is it. I will keep it as I will get lots of use out if it.

Ninkanink · 19/05/2020 21:34

I love my abbey! I’ve got it in the coral rose, it’s such a pretty colour for spring/summer. I think it’s beautiful in the oak and as you said, you can use it all year round.
