Thank you Ninkanik I think the coral rose is beautiful and if that was available I would have got that colour. After I posted I got it out again and it really is a lovely bag. I don’t know what’s wrong with me Smile It is a classic and I will get year round use with it. I do love the gold hardwear on the oak colour Smile

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 20/05/2020 09:26

Morning ladies,

Full sale is out today rather than just the preview and there have been new lines added!

ooh, the small amberley is in elephant in the sale. What is the elephant colour like in real life? It looks pretty... That's a good casual bag isn't it and I'm not just being swayed by it being in the sale...

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 20/05/2020 09:56

Ooh I absolutely love my small Amberley @DisgruntledGuineaPig - I have it in black and it's probably my favourite and most used Mulberry. i don't know what that colour is like in real life but the style is fab.

Ninkanink · 20/05/2020 10:01

Goddammit I realllllly want even more bags now!

And I agree, the Amberley is a beautiful bag. I really want it in a gorgeous oak colour.

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 20/05/2020 10:21

Do you know what @Ninkanink - so do I. I think it would look gorgeous in oak with my navy and beige winter coats and with summery clothes now.

Thanks, I was about to buy because it was in the sale. I'm going to keep an eye on the factory outlet and jump fast if one goes in the oak, otherwise I'm going to keep saving and buy the bag I actually want.

(although that said, I'm pretty sure I would happily buy a lily right now too, I do have a bag gap of clutch style bag that's not too evening/formal and isn't plain black...)

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 20/05/2020 10:38

The elephant Amberley is out of stock online.

Have finally made a purchase!

The Amberley is far more versatile than the Lily IMO so I’d definitely suggest saving and getting that one in oak.

Ninkanink · 20/05/2020 10:43

Ohhh fantastic! I’m sorely tempted by the croc make up pouch to be used as a clutch. But I’m going to be good (for now).

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 20/05/2020 10:49

The Lily in oak is beautiful @DisgruntledGuineaPig - depends if you want evening style or daytime. I definitely class the Lily as an evening bag, and the Amberley as daytime. Not trying to sway you though!

You have will power @Ninkanink! I don't.

OP posts:
Ninkanink · 20/05/2020 11:00

Yes the Lily in oak is lovely too. I sometimes use it in the day if I want to look a little more dressed up, but generally it’s an evening bag for me too.

However if it was between the two I’d definitely choose the Amberley.

It’s not easy to be good, salty but I’m really trying hard to make very considered purchases from now on - otherwise I will never have some of the more pricey bags and other things I want to save towards...

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 20/05/2020 11:02

I think the problem is I want lots of bags.

I want something that's eveningy without being too posh (which I think the lilly works in).

I want casual but not too big. And then I'm still drawn to massive shoulder distroying totes - and yes I could just not pack a tonne of stuff in them, but I never do, the bigger the bag, the more I carry and the more the physio shakes her head at my inability to help myself...

The croc makeup bag would work really well as a clutch. And if you have things like a big beach bag in the summer, help to have your important stuff together in it as an insert so you aren't scrambling around the bottom of it trying to find your keys/lip barm and you can just grab the insert with valuables in when you walk away from your sunlounger. (A dear friend taught me this on holidays, after watching me not being able to find the room key card in a massive beach bag)

Ninkanink · 20/05/2020 11:17

Oh yes I use pouches a lot to organise things in my bags - even the Abbey, which isn’t big, is quite cavernous inside and needs structure in order to be able to find anything.

But I couldn’t use the mulberry pouch in that way - it would be too likely to be beat up. I would keep it just for evenings, as I don’t like my evening bags to have any obvious wear. So I can’t use the multi-use excuse to make it a worthwhile buy. 😔

I also want all the bags. I’m sure i could buy a different bag every week and never run out of new wish list items. 😄

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 20/05/2020 11:42

I promised myself no more bags for this year after pre-lockdown purchases. But it's only a teeny little clutch...

I had the Abbey and sold it after a couple of years use. Drove me nuts that I could never find my keys in it! Maybe I should have tried the pouch approach!

OP posts:
Ninkanink · 20/05/2020 12:21

It is only a little clutch. ☺️ Looking forward to seeing unboxing!

makingmyway10 · 20/05/2020 13:29

Good choice chocolatesaltyballs22 . I will definitely be using the little pouch that comes with the Abbey for my keys. Will save me having to hunt around the bottom of the bag for them Smile

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 20/05/2020 14:07

Ah that was my mistake - never used it!

Ah it's gorgeous! Amberley clutch? Enjoy!

Said to my daughter earlier I didn't know why I'd bought that Bayswater clutch as I have nowhere to take it at the moment and she said I should take it to Tesco!!

OP posts:
Ninkanink · 20/05/2020 15:09

Absolutely beautiful colour! I love warm nudes/neutrals like that. So gorgeous. 😍

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 20/05/2020 15:11

Oooh, that is pretty, I do like the Amberley lock.

Yes to taking your clutch bag to tescos. It's perfect for now, you literally need to have your phone, house keys, your payment card and club card and a pair of plastic gloves, it would be pointless lugging a normal sized bag! Frankly, we all need lockdown clutch bags. Why did I not think of this before?!

MotherofDragonsandPigs · 20/05/2020 15:19

Does anyone else with an amberley find the strap unclicks itself quite often? I've dropped it quite a few times now where the strap has just flung open.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 20/05/2020 15:21

Hahahaha the lockdown clutch, love it!

OP posts:
Ninkanink · 20/05/2020 15:25

@MotherofDragonsandPigs someone mentioned that on a previous thread (maybe it was you!), but I’d forgotten all about it. That doesn’t fill me with confidence, tbh. I couldn’t deal with potential damage from repeatedly dropping a bag.
