@RoseyOldCrow I have the medium continental french pure which fits easily into the larger Antony with loads of room for other stuff.

@strictlybakeoff good choice - it's a gorgeous bag. You must post a pic to this thread when you get it. Sadly I've decided against ordering as I can't justify it with everything else I've got which is sat not getting used! (I have the small Amberley too, we have very similar bag taste)

@DisgruntledGuineaPig what about an Antony as a good 'sling everything in' bag? The larger size. You'd struggle to fit a kindle in the smaller Amberley or Darley shoulder bags unfortunately (I do love the Darley, the crimson is gorgeous! But more an evening bag I think)

@OlafLovesAnna - small bays definitely too small to wear on the shoulder.

@Rebelwithallthecause I always think blue bags look great if you're wearing dark denim jeans.

Come back and share pics of all your purchases ladies - I do love good bag thread!

A friend has the small amberley and has just sent a photo of her kindle fitting in it, clearly can fit a few other bits in as well, so we're good on that front, I can justify it! Grin

Of course, now I've lost my mind, having seen this www.mulberry.com/gb/shop/sale-preview/small-amberley-satchel-black-white-patchwork# bit of fabulousness. I think it would look rather jolly this winter. However, I have been stuck with small kids mithering to play Minecraft and watch other people play minecraft on youtube, whilst only being able to eat food I've cooked for several weeks, so my judgement might be off....

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 15/05/2020 14:39

(The before mentioned minecraft whinging and not killing any of them is my justification for buying any bag today)

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 15/05/2020 14:40

The Anthony doesn't really appeal to me. It is the practical option, which is possibly why.

Ninkanink · 15/05/2020 14:41

I always say go for the most interesting option! - a lot of people think, I’m spending a lot so I should go safe, but I personally think the average person already has plenty of safe accessories and it’s more fun to play a bit.

I like the monochrome.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 15/05/2020 14:56

Ah I'm a bit of a traditionalist and prefer plain leather! But you have to love it. And I do love the style of the Amberley, the lock is fabulous. I bought mine a couple of years back when I saw a woman in our local pub wearing one, and I just HAD to have it!

Any tips on purses / wallets? Something not too big as currently manage with a cardholder type one. Then I'll walk away from the sale I promise ...

Ninkanink · 15/05/2020 15:00

I’m a traditionalist for a basic set of bags, absolutely. But once you’ve got the basics covered, I like to have bags with at least some point of interest so either an interesting shape or design, or an unexpected colour, or maybe something just a little but subversive (for me - so if it doesn’t quite go with my perceived style, but I know I can make it work, I’m quite likely to buy it).

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 15/05/2020 15:07

@frustratedandworried I have this purse in lilac and I used it a lot in my smaller bags. It's very cute. Room for cards and coins.

That purse is lovely @chocolatesaltyballs22
I sell the bags I am fed up with/ shouldn’t have bought on some of the Facebook mulberry selling pages to fund the new ones .
Will post a pic when it comes

RoseyOldCrow · 15/05/2020 18:36

Disaster! I was about to buy the elephant silk Antony and it isn't there any more!
I'm bereft!!

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 15/05/2020 18:42

@RoseyOldCrow I can still see it - just had a look!

@Srictlybakeoff I use the FB selling sites as well, they're really good. We may have bought from each other!

Sorry wrong thread

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 15/05/2020 21:26

Beautiful, @OlafLovesAnna. That's what I would buy if I was buying! My husband has told me to go for it but I'm still holding back!

The belted Bayswater in elephant is pretty. I saw this bag in store before Lockdown and the leather was different to other Mulberry bags. More smooth and easily marked. It is lovely though but I have a few similar style Mulberry’s so decided against it . I have treated myself to an Abbey. I don’t have a bag in a style similar to this , I thought it was a useful addition Smile I have a lot of structured bags and fancied something a bit more casual.

makingmyway10 · 16/05/2020 08:10

It does say in the description‘silky calf’ leather so that will be why the leather is different! Grin my mistake Olaflovesanna will you post a pic when it arrives? I bet it is beautiful Smile

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 16/05/2020 09:48

Has anyone ordered this? Can't work out the colour. Looks brownish.

I was wondering about that colour too Chocolatesaltyballs22 ! It is called Crimson but look more like a cross between oak and oxblood. It’s not Crimson is it?

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 16/05/2020 12:01

Definitely not red....I really like the bag style but wonder what that colour would go with.

OP posts:
makingmyway10 · 16/05/2020 12:34

Chocolatesaltyballs It’s not red is it. There is another bag the same colour and it has a light blue contrasting colour on it. Will try to find it.

makingmyway10 · 16/05/2020 12:35

Oh it’s the Keeley satchel in Crimson multi colour block.

Ninkanink · 16/05/2020 13:02

It’s that orangey brown colour that’s very hard to describe...it’s quite close to maroon, though, imo.

It would go well with any of the warmer colours I think.
