Photo - What size do I look

I've put on around a stone which was the right thing to do. I was quite skinny and my face looked absolutely terrible (like a 40 yo heroin addict).
Now my face is normal and feels pretty again. But I'm not pleased with my body.
I do the gym and yoga, but honestly please - what dress size do you think I am? (In boden/john lewis/m&s etc - not h&m or topshop)

Yep, that's what I meant @waterlego.

For example..
Someone who wears all size 8 clothes from Fatface will think they're a size 8. And they'd be right.
And someone who wears all size 8 clothes from Topshop will also think they're a size 8. They're also right. But their own ideas of what a size 8 looks like will be very different. No "soft brains" involved.

Which is one of the reasons why the OP has got so many different responses on this thread. It's not that some posters are right and some are wrong; it's just that dress sizes differ, and so do people's perceptions, as a result of that.

It also shows how photographs aren't a very reliable gauge.
As someone up thread (an ex model) was saying, to look fashionably slim in a photo you need to be about a 4 or 6 irl.

I also asked in my op about Boden, m&s etc. and not Topshop, h&m etc, as I am aware of different demographics and sizing of different shops.

OP, what response did you want from this thread?
I and others have told you you look great, but you still don't seem happy with that?

hipslikecinderella · 31/03/2020 18:57

Just interested in answers to my original ?

I always find these interesting, I'm 5'7 and weigh 9'10 and I'm a 10, rarely an 8 (unless Next!!). Some 10s are snug too. I want to get down to 9 stone really!!

I'm not a pear, I'm an apple. I also have really large shoulders so often need a 12 for my top so the sleeves fit me.

I sound a right catch don't I Grin

It has to be a bad photo

Because if wearing size 8/10 then you must be pretty slim (or are you very short?) - only the photo looks like you’re much bigger - like a pear shape and carrying weight around the stomach. I don’t mean that bad as clearly you’re slim - Anyone wearing a size 8 clearly is so it must be a bad angle!

I also just find it interesting how people with the same weight or measurements can look so different, but agree it's not really what you were asking op!

I'm similar waist and hip sizes to you op but a tiny bit taller. But I have never shopped in fat face or Boden in my life and also don't own anything from marks and Spencer's or next. I imagine that I might easily fit a 10 or an 8 in those shops if you do, but I still consider myself a 12!

To return to the point - I personally wouldn't put weight on my body to make my face look younger. I just wouldn't. But I'm willing to do other things to achieve that and, as I said upthread, have just had Botox. I would consider fillers too.
