Photo - What size do I look

I've put on around a stone which was the right thing to do. I was quite skinny and my face looked absolutely terrible (like a 40 yo heroin addict).
Now my face is normal and feels pretty again. But I'm not pleased with my body.
I do the gym and yoga, but honestly please - what dress size do you think I am? (In boden/john lewis/m&s etc - not h&m or topshop)

New photo today, sorry I should prob chuck out all my breton tops.

Anyway, they're gap size us6 uk8 cargos and french size 1 top, which is an 8.

Both slightly tight but ok for being on the go.

I like being thin, I won't lie. But I'm very athletic and from a tall thin family so it's the norm to me.

I had Botox recently though for the first time and although the Dr said I actually looked pretty good for my age (40), the second question she asked was 'are you a runner?' which I am. She said 'you can always tell a runners face' and I kind of think that's true. My running friends are all slim but probably all look a bit aged in the face as well. It is a balance, unless you happen to have a nice round face to begin with!

So yes, you often have to choose in my opinion. I choose a slimmer body but accept (or not, hence the Botox) that my face might not look as young!

Is your weight in the healthy BMI range? Is your waist smaller than 31.5"? If so then you are absolutely fine. You don't look overweight but you may be more comfortable at a BMI of 24 rather than 20 as you age.

Yes, waist is 29 and hips 38. I think it was just a shite unflattering photo, but I'm glad I realised that as it was one of my favourite outfits for hanging out.

How tall are you? for me that would be a 12-14 BUT I am 5’10. Obviously if you are shorter then you will be a smaller size to stay in proportion.

You look quite a bit thinner in the second photo. Not that That is better..equally good in both!
First one I would of said 12/14
But second one size 10

You look absolutely amazing to me. Slim, lovely legs, well proportioned. I am 5"11 and I would be about a 10 if I were proportioned like you (never going to happen sadly because you actually have boobs. )

OP if you're in the mindset of scrutinising your appearance to this extent atm then you may not be ready to hear this but honestly you look, risking the rage of some on here, and possibly yours, an ideal weight for your height.

@Dozer you could be right - I'm interested in the thread as I know objectively that I probably look better slightly heavier - as @mistermagpie says, it's the contrast in how I feel. I don't have such sticking out hip and collar bones, which is clearly much better for me, but I've looked the same for too many years that acceptance doesn't come at once.

OP, your second photograph is at a much better angle - you look even better.

This thread proofs exactly why everyone thinks they are the same size as Kate Middleton 🤣🤣

With second photo I’d reduce my guess from 10 top to 12 bottom to 8 top and 10 bottom.

@Lobsterquadrille2 are you often cold? This has been a biggie for me, I dont feel the cold 1/4 as much now!

I’d love a figure like yours. I would have said 10 on top, maybe a 12 on the bottom? Although if you were in a skirt I would have said 10 on the bottom too.

Second photo I’d say 10 on top, 12 on bottom.

OP what's your bmi? There's a huge range of different shapes that fit into one size and I don't think that focusing on people's subjective perception is helpful.
The fact that you are so focused on it and were prior to this seriously considering fillers makes me concerned about your self esteem

@hipslikecinderella yes, exactly the same! It's made a big difference - I've barely put the heating on this year. Thank you for this thread. As for the person who said size 16 ....!!! No idea where they shop.

Oh you look much smaller in the second photo! Yes I'd say a 10 now.

10 on top. 12 on bottom. I used to look great in anything when the same!! Wish I was now. You look great.
