Photo - What size do I look

I've put on around a stone which was the right thing to do. I was quite skinny and my face looked absolutely terrible (like a 40 yo heroin addict).
Now my face is normal and feels pretty again. But I'm not pleased with my body.
I do the gym and yoga, but honestly please - what dress size do you think I am? (In boden/john lewis/m&s etc - not h&m or topshop)

I'd say about a 12

morriseysquif · 27/03/2020 23:29

You look nice and curvy and a size 12/14 bottom, 10/12 on top.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 27/03/2020 23:30

From the picture I would say a 12-14 but you have not done yourself any favours with the photo you have posted, you could be very tall with long legs but your picture cuts you off mid thigh and gives the illusion you are bigger than you probably are.

NemophilistRebel · 27/03/2020 23:32

Gorgeous body shape

10 on top with a size 10 waist and size 12 hips would be my guess

SetMeFree40 · 27/03/2020 23:34

10/12. You have a lovely figure op.

Pentium85 · 27/03/2020 23:35

10 top 12 bottom.
You look bloody brilliant.

Waiting1987 · 27/03/2020 23:46

I thought a 14.

Affirmative106 · 27/03/2020 23:50

You look great OP!

Overtired123 · 28/03/2020 06:58

I think you look great and size 10-12. Please tell me how you gained the weight? I am trying to do exactly the same thing and finding it really difficult without just eating crap (naturally tall and slim so need a lot of calories)

hipslikecinderella · 28/03/2020 07:12

Ironically I started at the gym to gain a bit of weight. I do weighted squats and dead lifts, lunges etc.
I do eat about 30% crap though and 70% healthy food.

I've just seen so many fillers on a slim face create a bubble head. So many on Kings Road. Normally filler is the first thing you notice, rather than the skinny body iswim .

Size 12 on top 14 on mid section.

hipslikecinderella · 28/03/2020 07:17

BMI being within the range and waist measurement are reasonable indicators health wise.

Dozer · 28/03/2020 07:23

Hard to guess but your BMI could be 24 and waist (tummy) measurement just over 32 inches.

I lost 20lbs+ and went from BMI 26 to 22, for health reasons, my tummy is still not smaller than 32 inches, partly due to diastasis recti.

vegas888 · 28/03/2020 07:37

12/14

Thermalvest · 28/03/2020 07:48

You look great.
I want to do the same thing - I'm 51 and have always been very slim. I'm 5'6 and a size 6. It's very aging in my face; I look quite gaunt, I think. I cook and eat fairly healthy meals but eat crap in between. I could very happily eat loads more junk or high-fat foods but am obviously wary of this for health reasons. What is the healthy way to put on weight, how did you do it?

Lobsterquadrille2 · 28/03/2020 07:53

You look about 10/12 and great. I'm interested as I have done the same, partly on my GP's advice. I'm 50 and have gone from 8 stone 5 to 9 stone 5 at 5 foot 8. Logically I know I'm not overweight but I feel it - clothes feel tighter (obviously) and I've kept my coat on wherever possible.

Have you found it fine?

hipslikecinderella · 28/03/2020 08:08

Doing weights at the gym helped me gain some weight. At first I liked it, but probably would have liked to stop at 9lb gained and not 14!
It's not like a bank transaction though, it's so hard to control.....

Dozer · 28/03/2020 08:11

Lobster, bottom of the BMI range for your height is the weight you are now, so you were previously well underweight: this kind of thread might not be a good idea for you.

mistermagpie · 28/03/2020 08:18

No I get how lobster feels. I'm 5'8" and before I had my 4.5 month old baby I was about 8 stone 11 - so really quite slim. I'm now 9 stone 10 and although other people tell me I look great, and I know logically that I'm still slim, I feel big. It's just what you're used to and if your old clothes feel tight or logical to feel conscious of putting weight on.

Im surprised the OP is a size 10 though, I'm a 10 and she looks bigger than I do I think, but photos aren't always accurate.

Livingoffcoffee · 28/03/2020 08:25

OP you look great. And 10 / 28" is small!
Try high waisted jeans though as then they'll highlight the smallest bit of you, rather than your hips, if you're self conscious. Honestly changed the way I look at myself when I started wearing high waisted trousers

FrankieGoesToLiverpool · 28/03/2020 08:30

12-14 darl. And you look great!

JoanJettPack · 28/03/2020 08:37

Big 10/ small 12 on top
Big 12/ small 14 on the bottom.

And thanks for getting "Tame" stuck in my head @hipslikecinderella ☺️

Boireannachlaidir · 28/03/2020 08:50

The moment has arrived to choose between face and ass

I'd love to know the male equivalent to this sexist rubbish. You look absolutely fine OP but somehow I think you'll fret about your appearance no matter what.

4amWitchingHour · 28/03/2020 08:57

I thought 10 as soon as I saw the photo - I'm amazed at people saying 14!! Just shows how much we've been brainwashed by excessively skinny imagery (and I say this as a natural size 6-8). You look great OP.
