As on the previous thread, please critique the outfit rather than criticise the woman and keep Megxit talk for the many many threads already dedicated to that!

I wasn't fond of pairing a black pump with the white Mouret but the Jimmy Choo silver sandal with it was fab.

Agree I couldn't find any good pics with the silver Jimmy Choos

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 24/01/2020 22:11

I like these dresses.
(But also like the other ones that have been posted)
My favourites being the red dress in the middle & the lilac dress in the first photo.

The all-time greatest royal gowns according to Town & Country magazine. Princess Margaret's dress with one strap is rather daring!

The Choos vs the black pumps

The silver Choos English

itswinetime · 24/01/2020 22:27

Thank you thisenglishlife it's definitely much better with the silver Choos

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 24/01/2020 22:33

Thanks for that link Queen

I think Kate would look fabulous in this dress of Diana's c1996 (if it was still in storage. Though I don't know if the boys or Diana's sisters kept any of her clothes)

I see Kate got her inspiration for that marmite mustard Erdem dress from Anne c1973

Wow look at Sophie, hot, hot, hot! c2012

Much better wit the Choos. Why on earth would you think a black court would go well with that dress.
Although I don't like the platform on those shoes. Thanksto the poster who has a pair of them! I know I've dissed them before.

frugalkitty · 24/01/2020 22:43

Tracy I thought the same about that photo of Sophie!

Prince Charles has visited his Grandmother's grave (Princess Alice) in Jerusalem

Such a pretty lady.
I think Eugenie & Beatrice favour Princess Alice in looks, Eugenie specially.
I can also see Anne in Alice too.

I really like Kate with the pony tail in that white dress, actually much prefer it to the usual bouncy blow dry that we get. Agree it's much better with the silver shoes though.

Spudlet · 25/01/2020 08:56

If they want any of Diana’s clothes, all they need to do is look in Paul Burrell’s attic...! Confused

CarrotVan · 25/01/2020 09:02

Looking through those top 50 gowns it struck me that a lot of Diana’s gowns weren’t quite right in the proportions. The waists fall at the wrong place or there are draped/wrapped details that really don’t work. But they’d look good on Kate. I wonder if Diana was fairly straight up and down but Kate has a more defined waist.

Princess Anne was very pretty and fashion forward in her day! I can see Kate wearing a lot of her old wardrobe too. She suits that 70s draping style

Now I’m wondering if Kate could go the full Annie Hall?

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/01/2020 09:45

As long as he's not in them at the time @Spudlet!

@CarrotVan wasn't that just the 80s styles with Diana's dresses though? She looked so much better in the sleeker outfits she adopted later in life. She really was at her style zenith when she died. Ah royal life would be so much more interesting if she still was around!

Yes, drop waists were very 'eighties. Did absolutely nothing for anybody's figure as I recall. Also leg 'o' mutton sleeves, I hope never to see those again.

I wonder which of today's royal gowns will date quickly?

StCharlotte · 25/01/2020 10:31

I always love this picture of Princess Margaret. She was at the top of her game on that tour. I have a similar style duster coat but it really needs a tiara now...

I bet Max has serious Princess Anne envy. She (Max) would absolutely rock this! I could see Kate in it too. But less rocking.

Oh my god that coat ❤️

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/01/2020 11:09

That's the tiara from the bath photo isn't it?

queenofarles · 25/01/2020 11:36

Is that really Sophie!! Wow, she looks amazing.

StCharlotte · 25/01/2020 12:38

Yes Queen - it's the Poltimore Tiara which was her wedding tiara. I think it was sold after she died Sad

justasking111 · 25/01/2020 12:42

They sold it!!!

justasking111 · 25/01/2020 12:52

Estate duties it went to an Asian buyer. Now if I was the Royal family I would have bought it.
