As on the previous thread, please critique the outfit rather than criticise the woman and keep Megxit talk for the many many threads already dedicated to that!

Kate really suits cobalt blue (and other bright colours) and jewel tones (especially when her hair is very dark) - like a 'winter' would.

Yes she does suit those colours ThisEnglish
Has anyone had their colours done? A friend of a friend did mine whilst doing her training. I'm a bright clear winter which didn't surprise me considering my wardrobe is full of jewel colours, plus hot pink, chocolate, black & white.
It also explains why navy makes me look like death warmed up.

Curly thanks for the link re the 75th Holocaust Anniversary. It's very important that it should never be forgotten.

frugalkitty · 22/01/2020 20:07

I'm a summer Tracy, so is my DH.

N0tfinished · 22/01/2020 20:08

I'm a former brunette who had to go dark blonde/brown due to greys. Regrowth shows up very quickly on dark hair. You get an extra couple of weeks out of your colour with lighter hair.

paradyning · 22/01/2020 20:30

I really do t like the coat. And much like Camilla yesterday the black boots dont go. They look better with the outfit underneath but I wish she'd gone with the slouchy look.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 22/01/2020 21:27

Anyone watching Channel Five?

Heygirlheyboy · 22/01/2020 21:37

Kate is gorgeous but that side shot is frightening she's so thin. Could she be a winter when navy suits her and black doesn't? I love her in block colours and that beautiful shade of green she wore in Pakistan. I'm sure her hairdresser would do a house call! Maybe she's not bothered if hair not perfect. Still fab hair though!

Thank you for the new thread, Queen.
I'm a Summer and DH is a Blue Spring.

7Worfs · 22/01/2020 21:56

Sorry to be off-topic but where does one get their colours done? Just any stylist or?

I think I look best in lilac and light grey, but would love to find out more.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 22/01/2020 21:56

@alliwantisagoodnightssleep I'm watching but commenting on the H&M thread with others rather than here.Smile

megletthesecond · 22/01/2020 22:00

queen I get lots of grey at the tips and dark at the roots. I guess it's my hairs way of gradually going grey over a decade or so.

Afrigginggoat · 22/01/2020 22:09

The pendant has the kids initials on it.
It's very plain now how personally important this work is to Kate and how much she is putting in to it. I think it was a great day. I loved the outfit without the coat, give it a pass with the coat, I think she needs something more tailored.
And did you notice her manners, she spoke to everybody she passed, interrupted herself to say thank you for tea etc. All basic good manners but very important to show it. I bet Carole felt super proud of her today.

@CurlyWurlyTwirly

Prince Charles has arrived in Davos in an electric car.
He is going to meet Greta Thunberg after his speech

Lots of articles in the paper about it too. Yet not one comment by anyone about hypocrisy or lecturing by him or William and Kate with their environmental focus Hmm

latedecember1963 · 22/01/2020 22:18

I had my colours done with House of Colour.
I have brunette hair, but I'm getting silver hair creeping into my temples just like my dad did at a similar age. (I'm 56.) I don't get greys at the roots yet. Dad's hair stayed dark apart from at the temples until his death at 67. My mum's hair still has a lot of black and some grey at the age of 81.

frugalkitty · 22/01/2020 22:46

Also a brunette, only a handful of greys do not noticeable yet (mid 40s). My mum isn't fully grey yet at 80 (though my dad went grey in his 30s). I also went to House of Colour, it's not cheap but I think it's the best option. The style part is interesting too.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 22/01/2020 23:34

Love these threads for the photos of the clothes!

latedecember1963 · 22/01/2020 23:51

Yes, I love all the photos too, especially the themed collage type ones. I started buying Hello from it's 1st edition because I loved all the photos and pre internet it was the best way to see Diana's fashions. I remember being on honeymoon in Devon and reading the one where Fergie and Andrew introduced newborn Beatrice in 1988. When Hello had an anniversary a few years ago and did a retrospective of front covers I recognised most of them.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 23/01/2020 02:02

I do think Kate suits being super slim and clothes hang beautifully on her but I just wanted to post this image when she is a bit curvier, I think she looks stunning, a few extra pounds suit her.

Camilla visited the Queen’s hand bag makers Launer, when she was in Birmingham.

Thank you for the new thread Queen

Love Kate’s outfit.

Touché @Becles but people are sheep!

Agree she looks better with a few pounds @BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo as the gowns hang and move better.

Kate used to have larger breasts and thighs (see rowing photo) and her torso has become more narrow over the years.

frugalkitty · 23/01/2020 08:02

Betty I love those pics of Kate, I think she suits a few extra pounds too. I think she blooms more when her face is slightly fuller. I'd love to see her rewear some of her earlier gowns too.

latedecember1963 · 23/01/2020 08:06

I think some people are just naturally very slim. My mum has always been tiny and has to eat loads to keep her weight up to between 7.5 and 8 stones. My dad's side was much heavier built and I take after him.
I used to think Kate was very thin, but when we saw the photos last summer of her sailing in shorts her legs looked strong rather than skinny.

latedecember1963 · 23/01/2020 08:08

William is also very slim, but he hides it under his cosy fleeces! 😂
