As on the previous thread, please critique the outfit rather than criticise the woman and keep Megxit talk for the many many threads already dedicated to that!

Thank you @alliwantisagoodnightssleep. Perhaps it is no longer the same, at least if I read your link right?

I'm old enough for it to ring a bell, although sometimes I do need reminding, about venues etc at the time. Even in 2005, there clearly was some tricky foot work for the heir to the throne, and future head of the CofE, to marry a divorcee, in a "suitable" church.

Imagine the horror (🧐) of opening the gloriousness of a palace to the great unwashed for three years!

BlingLoving · 07/02/2020 11:58

Maybe Hello will get the rights and we'll see endless fab photos after as it's not going to be televised?! Obviously just want to see the dress and the outfits of all the guests!

SenecaFallsRedux · 07/02/2020 12:15

I do hope that there are some pictures and video of Bea's wedding, especially guests arriving. I am going to feel deprived if we get only a few glimpses.

I know we generally stay away from celebrity fashion on these threads, but I am looking forward to the Oscars on Sunday.

peridito · 07/02/2020 12:47

@Lunde Princess Anne talking about attempted kidnapping with Parky is great fun

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 07/02/2020 12:55

@DevonUkelele - I don’t think Edo is divorced (although he does have a son with a former fiancée).

DevonUkelele · 07/02/2020 13:09

Thanks @Hainault - that's a very good point. I may have known that, but if I did I have definitely forgotten.

It's a difficult one for a family as traditional as the RF to negotiate, I reckon. Even without the complications with the father of the bride. 🤔

justasking111 · 07/02/2020 13:13

Poor Beatrice, this should be the happiest time of her life.

AdaColeman · 07/02/2020 13:28

Oh that's nice for Bea, the Chapel Royal was where Victoria & Albert were married in 1840.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/02/2020 13:52

I don't really care if the ceremony is televised as long as we get to see the wedding dress and the guests' outfits.

@SenecaFallsRedux I'm looking forward to Oscars fashion too but these days everyone has a stylist and things are too damn tasteful!

I agree Queen. My closest friend and I have a long-standing tradition of watching the Oscars together; she usually comes to my house for the night (bigger TV); we have champagne and fancy nibbles, and critique the clothes to our hearts' content. It was lots more fun when people showed up in things like this:

Just thinking I’m a regular name changer & perhaps Curly & Bertrand have done the same

justasking111 · 07/02/2020 14:21

Do not know why there is so much fuss about Beatrice wedding, Margarets children had quieter weddings, had not realised how gorgeous Sarah`s dress was.

BlingLoving · 07/02/2020 14:28

Well, beatrice is the granddaughter of the queen, not a niece/nephew.

Also, at this point, with the whole Andrew thing, it's kind of topical and overshadowed by that.

And in 2020, our desire and access to the outfits is unparalleled! Grin

SenecaFallsRedux · 07/02/2020 14:38

Oh yes, Sarah's dress. One of my all-time favorites.

itswinetime · 07/02/2020 14:44

We should get fairly good shorts of the outfits we saw all the arrival outfits of Ellie Goulding and she isn't royal and Lady Gabriela who is much lowers down the royal rankings we saw they guests and the dress so I would expect the same of Beatrice I'm not sure on the layout out of at St James's though from memory it's not as open as Windsor??

Moving to Norway: 20 dresses we've forgotten that Queen Sonja has worn

pallisers · 07/02/2020 15:49

I think I've liked every single thing Sarah Armstong-Jones has worn.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/02/2020 15:55

Queen Sonja was so pretty and even now she looks fabulous considering she's mid-80s. Martha Louise is very like her.

This one is timeless!

The turban! No royal women wear turbans anymore. Surely it's a trend Maxima needs to revive?

That clip of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips is amusing- despite the fact that people got shot.
Doesn't Anne look so Edwardian.

BennytheBall · 07/02/2020 17:40

I too love Sarah Chatto’s wedding dress. By far the nicest of them all.

SpokeTooSoon · 07/02/2020 17:44

I used to love Sarah Chatto’s wedding dress too until someone commented the bodice is shaped rather oddly over the...ahem...pubic area to look like a codpiece.

I can’t unsee it now.

frugalkitty · 07/02/2020 17:51

Off to the naughty step with you Spoke ....I can't believe you've lowered the tone of the thread! Grin

I love Sarah's wedding dress, and the flowers. Timeless.

StCharlotte · 07/02/2020 17:54

Max would look brilliant in turbans! and it would also cover her sometimes iffy hair

I also suit a turban. Surprisingly.
