As on the previous thread, please critique the outfit rather than criticise the woman and keep Megxit talk for the many many threads already dedicated to that!

This is old news about Beatrice in some ways because I had read that the Guards chapel was out before Christmas because of PA's interview and stepping down - from an article on Dec 15th
"The source said: "Only three weeks ago, friends were expecting to watch Bea walk down the aisle at The Guards Chapel, but that location is now looking unlikely."

Although the date of May 29th is new

paradyning · 04/02/2020 12:59

Late looks v matronly today. I'm afraid she and Steph of Lux are morphing

hopeishere · 04/02/2020 13:11

I like her look today - it's obviously very cold and windy so she looks warm at least. I like the scarf.

That dress is gorgeous @mathanxiety - one of her best!!

SunshineCake · 04/02/2020 13:13

Yes, I meant it has been reported that Beatrice is getting married then. I feel so sorry for her that she doesn't appear to be having the elaborate wedding that Eugenie had and if it is due to her fathers actions it isn't fair.

I feel sorry for Beatrice her wedding planning has been totally derailed by factors outside of her control. Firstly by her car crash father, then, it was stated, that her wedding would be announced during the 2nd week of January which was when all of the Megxit drama blew up!

The fact that the Queen has offered a reception at Buckingham Palace is a good idea. It is grand, glamorous and Royal but it will be much easier to control security than somewhere like Windsor.

itswinetime · 04/02/2020 13:33

Is that a navy coat with black boots! It's a no from me and I'm glad there's no fleece but I'm not a big fan of Williams jumper either here's hoping what's underneath the coat is better for Kate.

Lunde · 04/02/2020 13:36

Looking at the weather - I guess that Kate has her thermals on underneath for clambering on lifeboats in high winds!

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 04/02/2020 13:40

Grin @QueenOfTheAndals

I don’t mind her coat/dress/scarf - but Kate’s boots are just wrong. I don’t like them at all.

Lunde · 04/02/2020 13:40

I also notice that the crowds are wearing ski-wear or are wrapped in blankets

Llareggub · 04/02/2020 13:52

It’s actually very sunny here in Swansea today. It’s always pretty windy on the seafront though, but it was very mild on the school run this morning. We dress for constant rain here.

UrsulaPandress · 04/02/2020 14:24

K&W always manage to look so animated together. And Kate's smile could crack ice in most of the DM pics. She is either loving being out in the coastal air away from London or putting on a really good performance.

itswinetime · 04/02/2020 14:46

They are visiting an ice cream parlour so the coat is off. I can't see a front ob photo yet but I like it classic but not fussy with bows frills patterns ect and appropriate for her age and the occasion although I'm no where near Swansea today doesn't seem like ice cream weather to me!

Rebecca English is saying it's a zara dress but I'm not sure if she knows that or it's just a guess

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 04/02/2020 15:03

Is it me or is Zara EVERYWHERE?

Which is fine, but it's affordable fashion for people who aren't quite up the Reiss, Hobbs and LK Bennett end of the high street. It would be nice if celebs and royals didn't appropriate Zara too, just to give those on a budget a fighting chance!

CarrotVan · 04/02/2020 15:14

I've just had a flick through the midi dress section on the Zara website. Considering how much lovely Zara stuff I pick up second hand the stuff in their current collection looks pretty much 100% unwearable, hideous, badly styled and dreadfully fitted. I'm not sure what their target market is but I'm assuming it's people who dress in the dark

BlingLoving · 04/02/2020 15:24

Honestly, in another life, Kate is an Oscar-award winning actress. Seriously. Remember how calm and in control she was the day the topless photos were posted (I think they were in Malaysia)? She's totally cracked the ability to be "on" when she needs to. Ditto during all the issues with william - whether they were true or not, it must have been a really difficult time and she managed to pretty much always look her usual calm, engaged self (and yes, she does have a little bit of a BRF but I can't hold that against her. When she's out there talking to people and engaging, she always looks animated, interested and involved).

itswinetime · 04/02/2020 15:38

It might not be a zara dress the one they are tagging on Twitter looks like it has puffier sleeves to me but I guess Kate could have had them tweaked if it is it's a bargain at £50. The coat is Hobbs the scarf belua London and the rest are rewears.

kates closet

I think it's hard people do seem to love it when Kate wears high street and it definitely fits with the working family message the Cambridge's have been sending out lately and today's outfit is on brand for that.

MotherofPearl · 04/02/2020 15:38

I agree @BlingLoving, but I think it's also a crucial part of her job - always appearing calm, smiling, engaged - it just happens that she's extremely good at her job. Or has become good at it. I admire how she has worked at and now mastered her role.

Quite like what I can see of her dress today but violently opposed to the boots!

banivani · 04/02/2020 15:46

Bling was that a typo for RBF? Because I prefer the idea of a bitchin’ resting face Grin

beanaseireann · 04/02/2020 16:03

Isn't Kate's scarf sweet with the hearts and the month that's in it, and its red for Wales.

BlingLoving · 04/02/2020 16:07

Haha @banivani yes, it was a typo! But I like your version better I think! Grin

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 04/02/2020 16:11

I agree with you about Zara CarrotVan but the few nice wearable things seem to be snapped up by whoever dresses these famous ladies and are then sold out immediately everywhere.

beanaseireann · 04/02/2020 16:35

it'swinetime
I like that Kate wears High St clothes. Better than wearing £65,000 dresses.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/02/2020 16:43

Hell if you can't wear a £65k dress when you're a royal then when can you?
