As on the previous thread, please critique the outfit rather than criticise the woman and keep Megxit talk for the many many threads already dedicated to that!

I noticed that too. Thought it was tape at first

frugalkitty · 02/02/2020 22:02

StCharlotte which is the blue Paris shimmer dress you like?

MotherofPearl · 02/02/2020 22:13

Is it this one?

I don't love Rebel Wilson's dress tonight, but doesn't she always just look beautiful? Her hair and make up are always great, and she looks really happy and comfortable with her look.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2020 22:44

The blue dress is pretty but I really don't think ice blue is Kate's colour.

Rebel gave me the ONLY laugh of the night when she said she was being sustainable by wearing a dress made from two dresses. One she wore when she didn’t win Miss Australia and one from a funeral she recently attended - for the screenplay Cats.

Was just thinking how amazing Kate looked and came here to hear the same but you lot don’t like it!!!! I think she looks amazing. Just goes to show doesn’t it - how different we all are Grin

Expo · 02/02/2020 22:52

Ps Kate if you are scrolling through this later - you look amazeballs Crown Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2020 22:53

Kate never looks bad, it's the gown we aren't a fan of! Her updo is great though.

pastaparadise · 02/02/2020 22:57

Like Kate's dress, love the hair. But i agree that a simple strapless gown with massive bling rocks and updo would look fabulous.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2020 22:58

I wish she'd rewear the black velvet strapless gown. That would've been perfect for the BAFTAs.

@QueenOfTheAndals yes I was talking about her gown and shoes!!!!

StCharlotte · 02/02/2020 23:02

Well I remember the picture on the stairs but apart from the colour I don't remember it like that at all!

I think I was confusing it with this one but I could still be wrong Grin I still really love tonight's though!

Dress was too fussy and looks like it’s for a Royal tour. I wish she would wear something slightly more youthful just once. Like PPs have said - something plainer with a great cut and some proper bling

katienana · 02/02/2020 23:07

Not sure who said it but I think the dress is too summery, it's the combination of the pale colour and flowy fabric plus that it was last worn in Malaysia. Nothing could be further than London in February! She looks beautiful but the context is just wrong.

Drinkciderfromalemon · 02/02/2020 23:12

Watching a bit behind - Renee's dress is gorgeous and perfect on her. Great upper arm disguiser too, not that there is anything wrong with hers!

Expo · 02/02/2020 23:16

You see. I didn’t like renee dress. Bleurgh. We are all unique

beanaseireann · 02/02/2020 23:25

I don't like Kate's dress, the updo or the jewellery tonight.

SpokeTooSoon · 02/02/2020 23:29

I didn’t love the colour of Renees dress and she could hardly walk in it. Sadly, her cosmetic procedures are very distracting but she does come over as lovely - if a tad otherworldly - in her acceptance speeches.

Expo · 02/02/2020 23:56

Renees dress looked like a bridesmaids dress. Made for her in a kind of off the shelf pattern. Sewed up. Kate’s looked like it was from a top designer. Soz but that’s the truth

Lunde · 03/02/2020 00:34

I liked Kate's dress in parts. I liked the very theatrical, gold embroidered material - almost like she was playing herself in The Crown. I thought that the dress looked fabulous and glamorous in motion. She seemed to be attempting to recreate the sort of old school Royal glamour of the gowns that the Queen and Princess Margaret wore in their youth

The bit I didn't like so much was the bodice. Personally I would have preferred the fabric below to have been formed into a bodice as the construction did look a bit "bra like" at certain angles

It seems to have some elements for Princess Margaret's 21st birthday gown - that had a similar bodice detailing

I think Kate looks stunning!

Agree with the poster who had hoped we would see dresses being changed as opposed to just rewears.

Also loved Zoe Kravitz

EdinaMonsoon · 03/02/2020 01:27

I think Kate's dress was a fail. I liked the general concept but the bust section of the bodice looked somewhat like an afterthought..as though the seamstress ran out of time to embellish it. It seemed desperately plain and disconnected with the rest of the dress.

Renée's dress, however, was stunning. Simple, elegant and very appropriate. It is reminiscent of an Alexander McQueen gown from 2001 (which...disclaimer...I almost got married in but decided to go for oyster rather than pale pink) I agree that she did seem somewhat on another planet during her acceptance speech but I think that's just her true self.

mathanxiety · 03/02/2020 05:24

I loved KM's dress - thought it looked more glam than boho. It has a look of classical revival meets 'Mystery of the East' to it.
It stood out from all the other gowns of the night.

StartupRepair · 03/02/2020 06:29

Loved Kate's dress. She needed to have some strong gold jewellery happening with it.
