As on the previous thread, please critique the outfit rather than criticise the woman and keep Megxit talk for the many many threads already dedicated to that!

I like the flippy skirts and she wouldn't have been able to crouch down very easily in a pencil skirt.

I also think they appeal to children as being 'princess' like.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 28/01/2020 17:39

But really skirts blowing in the wind. How hard is it for someone to put weights in? Imagine if that had happened to Meghan!

That's a very good point. In fact, two very good points.

Rhubarbisevil · 28/01/2020 17:40

It was very very windy today. Maybe no one thought it would be that gusty?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 28/01/2020 17:56

True, Rhubarb. I remember Michelle Obama being similarly caught out. It must be your worst nightmare at a formal event.

Wetdogloveshubert · 28/01/2020 17:59

As it was mentioned... nope, no engagement ring today. Maybe it's off for a clean? Crown Wink or because she's being very close with the children she didn't want it being grabbed? It must be a risk wearing the real thing for meet and greets.

I quite like this suit. Yes, it's flippy, but the weight is nicer than the (red?) one she wore at some point last year. The hair is fab too - I wish I could grow my frizzball out and wear it like that.

I think ring off was probably to do with the event itself - doing arts and crafts in a children's hospital, not to mention all of the hand sanitizer is not very ring friendly

MrsGrindah · 28/01/2020 18:11

@Lunde I agree with all your points but can’t get upset about the no additional pay! I think she’ll manage to eek out the housekeeping somehow.

Re her engagement ring..whilst it’s not a style I like I can’t see she was short changed. It’s possibly the most famous engagement ring in the world and hugely emotionally significant.I think she was genuine when she said she felt honoured to wear it .

I like her look today. Happy and flippy!

Gooseysgirl · 28/01/2020 18:30

I'm not a fan of the flippy skirt at all, but otherwise she looked fantastic, and was wonderful with the kids. I'm not a massive fan of her fashion choices at times, BUT I think she is a huge asset to The Firm now and is really finding her feet at last with her causes and appears to be very dedicated to the work!

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/01/2020 19:41

I like the flippy skirts! To be fair, the video really shows that it was up for a split second - it looks far more of an event in the pictures than it really was.

paradyning · 28/01/2020 19:47

I don't like it. But then I never do like this style. And on her figure, the proportions are all wrong in the cut. Again.
I like the tweed though and it looks like there's a nice black lace underskirt thing going on to which is very D&G.
I thought D&G were persona non grata anyway. Didn't Max get hauled over the coals for them on a previous thread?

BlingLoving · 28/01/2020 20:02

I think she looks great and the flippy skirt might not be high fashion but it IS flattering on her. I think it would work a bit better if the jacket was a little shorter too - it seems to end too far down? But that's nitpicking.

I do think much shorter skirts are coming back in though. Whenever I'm in London I've been noticing younger women wearing very short skirts and dresses (although generally not flippy like Kate's).

Agree with a PP - I think (hope?) she's decided to wear more what she likes. She has great legs and it seems perfectly reasonable to want to show them off. Does anyone remember that scene in Crocodile Dundee where the woman puts her leg around the door while he's in the bathroom? Maybe that's Kate and William's thing...! Grin

BlingLoving · 28/01/2020 20:03

Oh, and I think she's had her hair done - the highlights are looking good and the colour more smoothed out. Maybe in the last day or two?

AlexGS · 28/01/2020 20:03

very dedicated to the work
Her engagement numbers haven't been very high, although presumably they will increase. Sophie had jobs, children and was carrying out engagements.

Everything has been a photo opportunity (although I'm sure the organisations were grateful), bar the garden project which went on tour (and got lots of publicity at each stage).

The Early Years project is being run by a team (though Kate must be doing some work in the background) and has only given us a 5 question survey in the years in several years.

Ultimately, it will be a steering group with a report summarising research by others and press invites for photographs. It is important that this research is highlighted, but so much more important work could have been done in this time and money raised.

I am glad that important issues will be looked at but I don't think it's unfair to be somewhat disappointed by all the delays and nothing concrete being shown this far.

I understand that this is a long term project and hope it will do a lot of good.

Horsemad · 28/01/2020 20:22

I liked her outfit today.

Freeshavocado · 28/01/2020 21:04

Leti in a black and white polka dot wrap dress which I love, not sure about the slouchy boots with it though.

MotherofPearl · 28/01/2020 21:09

I also love Leti's polka dot dress - it fits perfectly. She's smiling much more broadly than usual in that first photo.

BlingLoving · 28/01/2020 21:15

doesn't kate have a dress like that?

MotherofPearl · 28/01/2020 21:20

@BlingLoving - not sure, but they do sometimes wear similar outfits.

I know we've noticed Leti's greys before, but here they are more noticeable. It makes me wish I'd not started dying my greys - when I eventually decide to grow it out it's going to look revolting.

MotherofPearl · 28/01/2020 21:22

To clarify, I think Leti's hair looks great and it's a lesson to me in how to go grey gracefully.

TSSDNCOP · 28/01/2020 22:03

Flippy, but really quite fab. I loved the lacy, scallopy bit under the skirt.

RomaineCalm · 28/01/2020 22:03

I like what she's wearing today - she suits shorter skirts and tbh if I had legs like that I'd wear them all the time!

The polka dot wrap dress is a winner for me too.

thisenglishlife · 28/01/2020 22:32

Leti looks great, as always. She has Kate's pointy boots though!

These are Kate's polka outfits @BlingLoving

Another day, another nursery visit.

I'm loving that coat - fab colour on Kate. I'll forgive the double-breasted style because the cut and colour are spot on.

I'll even forgive the pie crust collar on the blouseWink. The boots and skinnies work, even if they're not 100 per cent to my taste. And I see she has her engagement ring back on.

Is it just me, or has the DOC raised her casual game in recent weeks?

I'm loving DOC outfit today especially the coat I really love the colour. I'm not particularly keen on her blouse though.

AudacityOfHope · 29/01/2020 10:11

Good look today from Kate. I love the colour of her coat!
