As on the previous thread, please critique the outfit rather than criticise the woman and keep Megxit talk for the many many threads already dedicated to that!

I love the hat she wore in her joint engagement with HMQ.

That link you shared @Queen has a nice close up of the face and you can see the earrings well. They're a bit big for my liking but she seems to be able to pull them off

BigGreenOlives · 27/01/2020 17:21

Sheer black tights are in again, seen on late teens & early twenties regularly in London. Worn with distressed black skirts & clumpy boots/trainers. Also worn going out at night. I don’t know what else she could have worn, suggestions?

MotherofPearl · 27/01/2020 17:31

I think she looks great today - collar and all. I have no issue with the tights! Grin

paradyning · 27/01/2020 18:08

I like her tartan shoes. Just not in conjunction with a (clashing) tartan skirt!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 27/01/2020 18:23

Kate looked very respectful & appropriately dressed for such an important occasion.
Though it's not my favourite outfit she did look lovely.

SpokeTooSoon · 27/01/2020 18:26

I thought it she was turned out perfectly today, very beautiful and more rested than she’s looked recently.

MangoFeverDream · 27/01/2020 18:44

I hate the photos they chose of Kate, sober event and they chose ones where she’s grinning like a maniac. Was that on purpose?

Nice coat dress though.

paradyning · 27/01/2020 18:46

The waist is too high on that coat dress thingymebob she's wearing.
Perfectly appropriate for the occasion though.

justasking111 · 27/01/2020 19:01

The photo is so dark I did not see tartan shoes, wonder where they came from. I love tartan shoes.

AlexGS · 27/01/2020 19:06

I thought Kate's coat dress was boring and too flared (and more like a trousers material?). She has a better sober grey coat (attached). I also ♥️ this ivory one!

Okay, I have to admit, I like the tights. I never wear tights like that any more but actually, I think she looks great - they're very flattering. I'll be quite pleased if they are making a comeback! Grin.

I think the belt is just a smidgeon high in the pics I've seen (HRHDuchessKate - no Express or Mail links for me) but that might just be the angle or the moment. I have a dress I wear with a belt and I have to make sure to pull it down whenever I've got up from sitting. Overall though, she looks lovely and absolutely appropriate.

PineapplePower · 27/01/2020 19:43

It’s kind of an optical trick to elongate the leg. Kate’s rather short legged so hiking that waistline up helps balance everything out.

Longwaisted ladies take note!

MrsGrindah · 27/01/2020 20:18

I called it right! I said sombre rewear.

desertgirl · 27/01/2020 20:22

PineapplePower, it might be an optical trick but if you are long bodied it also happens whether you want it to or not in off the shelf clothes, any time I wear an ‘attached’ belt I seem to spend half my time trying to tug it down.....

derxa · 27/01/2020 20:26

Kate looked so great today.

kemfash · 27/01/2020 20:33

Princess Charlene was in head to toe Dior today in Monaco

MangoFeverDream
I agree with you te the photo chosen of Kate- sombre event and she's caught grinning like a
maniac as you said.

That's just mean of the picture editor.
Kate deserves better.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 27/01/2020 21:35

You see, I thought that the photos of Kate beaming were perfect. She has a wonderful "gurny" grin with a touch of mischief in it, and it was lovely to her connecting so warmly with those people. The occasion is utterly sad, but the human connection very uplifting.

paradyning · 27/01/2020 21:43

She is always, always is pictured with jazz hands and a crazy gurning smile. At every event.

MrsDoubtTried · 27/01/2020 21:43

I agree. She looked genuinely pleased to be in their company again. It was uplifting to see on a day so full of sadness.

MrsDoubtTried · 27/01/2020 21:45

I don’t think meanness was meant at all. She is warm and sincere and was suitably sombre during the sombre periods of the event.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 27/01/2020 21:51

That's what I like about Kate. She always seems genuinely pleased to be there & very enthusiastic.

StCharlotte · 27/01/2020 22:23

Love Charlene's soft hairdo in those pictures. Think that would suit Kate. Ditto CPV. Oh sod it, it would suit all of them from Sweden to Spain.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/01/2020 22:30

Some of the Swedish royals have attended a gala in Stockholm. I like the colour of Sofia's dress but I'm not sure about the 90s school formal hair. Carl Philip remains very easy on the eye...

Wasn't CPV at Auschwitz? Along with Wax and Max? If it was her (CPV), she was wearing a beautiful coat.
