As on the previous thread, please critique the outfit rather than criticise the woman and keep Megxit talk for the many many threads already dedicated to that!

Ten pages in and I still have no clue what a furbelow is.

Either it's Erdem's specialist subject or it's a twee name for a merkin.

banivani · 27/01/2020 07:54

A bosco is a twee Irish name for a vagina

AudacityOfHope · 27/01/2020 07:58

I had to Google furbelow Grin

I find it an unreasonably irritating word, for some reason.

frugalkitty · 27/01/2020 08:42

Saw this on Pinterest and thought I'd share to add a bit of bling to the morning.

That's the first time I've noticed how similar HMQ's and Sophie's rings are. It isn't the best photo of Camilla's but I like hers very much. Is that emerald cut?

I do like the trio setting with one large diamond and two others flanking it, less keen on the big central stone with a halo of diamonds. Sarah F's is my least favourite I'm afraid.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/01/2020 09:45

I love Beatrice's ring but wouldn't have guessed it cost £60k!

I love Camilla’s ring and Beatrice’s ring is beautiful. £60k isn’t that surprising if the quality of the diamonds is excellent.

Spudlet · 27/01/2020 10:01

Ooooh shiny!

I like the ones that are just diamonds best - the big ones with the ring of little diamonds around them just look a bit dated to my eyes. I tend to prefer simple jewellery for myself - mine is a little diamond solitaire in white gold, teeny tiny compared to all those boulders of course. But I like it more than any of those, I like understated. The Queen’s is my favourite, I think, of those pictured. Not that it’s very understated!

BlingLoving · 27/01/2020 10:24

Queen, Beatrice, then Camilla for me.

Didn't like Diana's on her. And don't like it on poor Kate. Plus remain confused about why you'd give your fiancee your mother's engagement ring when her marriage was such a complete and utter disaster. Particularly when your mother probably had shedloads of other gorgeous rings/loose rocks lying around that would work equally well.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/01/2020 10:32

@BlingLoving I thought for a moment you meant you liked my engagement ring best!

Zara's is pretty too - aquamarine?

I agree that Kate's ring comes with a lot of baggage but hey, she seems to like it!

I just thought it was the really annoying puppet on afternoon tv in Ireland. Smile

7Worfs · 27/01/2020 10:42

I don’t like any of those rings, especially Camilla’s - Art Deco jewellery makes me shudder for some reason.

My ideal would be a single diamond emerald cut daintily attached to a thin band.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 27/01/2020 10:59

Either of Grace Kelly’s engagement rings would be acceptable to me!

FATEdestiny · 27/01/2020 11:06

I don't know why William didn't use the stones in the ring and redesign. If he was so keen to use his mother's ring, is have the very least changed it in some way.

7Worfs · 27/01/2020 11:20

Tbh I wouldn’t mess with what is probably the most famous/recognisable ring in the world. It’s a piece of history as it is.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 27/01/2020 11:33

Anne’s ring is a bit of a surprise. It’s very feminine and pretty. I’d have thought she’d have something practical and classic.

Love Sophie’s ring.

I never liked Fergie’s ring.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 27/01/2020 11:48

I love HMs ring the most then Beatrice's & Autumn’s. I disliked Diana’s & Fergie's.

frugalkitty · 27/01/2020 11:55

I like Meghan's best but on its original band, I'm not keen on the skinny band in the photo.

allIwant I agree, I'd have Grace's ruby and diamond one for day to day and break out the diamond for special occasions showing off

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 27/01/2020 12:04

Frugalkitty I’ll let you borrow them when I’m not wearing them.

Spudlet · 27/01/2020 12:11

I suspect that if Diana’s ring had been redesigned, there would be have been whispers about her legacy being erased, and lots of anger from the sorts of people who photoshop her into pictures of the Cambridge family and things...

Also the ring wasn’t William’s alone, afaik - there was supposedly an agreement between William and Harry that whoever got engaged first got the ring. So it may not have been as simple as William being able to do whatever he liked - Harry would have no doubt had an opinion too.

Anyway maybe William isn’t reminded of his parents’ marriage woes - just of his mum. 🤷‍♀️

justasking111 · 27/01/2020 12:42

I do not like the fashion of diamonds on the surface of the ring all the way round. My favourite ring is the aquamarine that MM wore on the night following of her wedding.

The Monaco RF.
Not so keen on Charlene’s coat, but Princess Gabriella looks adorable.

beanaseireann · 27/01/2020 13:16

I like the Queen's engagement ring, Soohie's ring and Beatrice's.
I don't like the cut of the diamond in Camilla's.
I'm not a fan of Diana's, Fergie's ( i think they got a ruby because of the colour of her hair ), or Eugenie's ring.

I like cushion cut best.
If I had the Royal money I'd like a 2-3 carat cushion cut up to F in colour.
A girl can dream Smile

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/01/2020 13:31

My engagement ring is a halo style with a princess cut diamond in the middle. I thought I didn't like halos and looked at every other style before going shopping but in the end I just fell in love with this one!
