Lipstick Challenge January 2020.

Hello lipstick junkies and a very Happy New Year to you all! (And a new decade!)

So, the point of this 'challenge' for any newbies is to go through your lipstick stash and wear a different colour everyday! Pictures are useful (although not mandatory) although colour descriptions are good too! Definitely post brand and shade name/number please!

(So many exclamation marks, can you tell I'm excited? I love this, it's something fun during a dreary month.)

I will begin, I'm wearing L'Oreal matte lipstick in 'Stay the night'. I think it was a Boots exclusive or freebie or something (I got it on eBay.) It's a purple-y wine shade and very comfortable to wear.

@Honeybee85 no I haven’t looked for a dupe yet- still got quite a lot left.

Today is YSL Rouge Pur Couture in no9- it’s a lovely colour but I find it doesn’t last that well and dries my lips out even though it’s a moisturising formula. Very fragranced too!

I think if you like the finish of the Shiseido, my advice would be to check other Asian brands like Etude House, Sensai Kanebo etc.

I live in Asia and the Asian brand lipsticks are very different from Western ones, colours are generally also more ‘watery’ (I have no other way to describe it) and the Shiseido ones are ‘typically Asian’.

Today more subdued with MAC Whirl.
I have a Primark dupe for this that was £2, might wear that tomorrow.

I went for Mac Rebel today, a purply colour I love. Really great staying power. I've only worn it on nights out before so felt weird on a Sunday morning!

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk. This is one of the best lipsticks from CT IME.
I have no issues with quality or longevity. The colour is a nice warm medium pink nude, a MLBB. Easy to wear and works with everything.

I think I need to switch it up a bit and wear something other than pink nude lipsticks...

Today was NYX Shimmer down lip veil in Pink Pong, a bright pink semi-sheer lipgloss with lots of sparkles. It's very pretty.

Chanel Dimitri. A pinkie red and my everyday red.

Today is Mac Lustre in Spice it up! This is a great thread - I have loads of lipsticks/glosses and this is really making me think about what I'm wearing rather than just reaching for the same ones all the time.

First time wearing as part of a Christmas set. Lovely MLBB shade on me.

Primark Lustre Rosewood Mauve! I love it after seeing it on this thread. Managed to buy the last two in the shop today

I'm wearing Mac Tendertalk Lip Balm today in Pretty Me Up - I can't get a decent photo of my lips so here's the lipstick instead.

It's very sheer, and a lot more pink than the peach it looks in the photo. Very moisturising and stays on ok, not amazing.

This thread has made me sort through my lipsticks... so what do you do with lipsticks you don't like, don't suit you, you've only worn a couple of times? I'm loathe to throw them away!

Coffee I sorted out some barely worn lipsticks (literally worm once or twice) and gave them to friends.

I've got some barely worn lipsticks too Coffee, no idea what to do with them.
I'm wearing Mac Stay Curious today, the most wearable red ever, it's really nice and soft. Has a really weird smell though, I hate strong smelling lipstick!

Today I’m wearing Colourpop Little Weapon.

It is one of their ultra matte liquid lipsticks in a very bright, warm red. It is absolutely stunning, and my favourite red.

It is getting old and was a limited edition, so I’m looking for a dupe, but no luck yet.

Forgot to post mine earlier. Maybelline crayon seek adventure. Can’t get too excited about this one.

This is a primark Jena Frumes semi-matte liquid lip. It has good staying power and was 2 quid. There is no shade number but it's very close to MAC whirl that I wore yesterday.

Oh I've missed this thread! Only just found. I had new ones for Christmas but I'm on a no spend now so will be working my way through all of my current ones.

Great thread! I love lipstick. I was trying out a red today Urban Decay 714 but I find red hard to wear. Even with a lip liner. Any tips on how to apply for good coverage and staying power. Do you use lip liner first or last and how to you tackle the red lip and then inside lip without colour iyswm.

I love this thread but I've up graded (or downgraded as the case maybe) my phone and for some reason I can't post with pictures!
I've just come back from Japan and I agree that the make up is very different to western make up. The eyeshadows are more slurry like, they kind of are sheer and have more shimmer, which I find refreshing and rather flattering. The lipsticks are definitely more watery. I picked up a lovey Canmake lipstick in a brown, Berry shade. It's called a Melty lipstick and it's lovely and buttery.

Today I am wearing Mac New York Apple.
It matches my topshop corduroy flares lol

This is Clinique pop splash lipgloss in the shade Tenderheart. Not sure it does much for me but never mind!
