Ladies, I’m so late to this. Are there any decent calendars left? I enjoyed the M&S one last year and didn’t think I’d bother, but now I’ve got fomo.

Doubleraspberry · 30/11/2019 18:41

There are some reselling on Amazon for not totally crazy prices. John Lewis still seems to be going I think?

Tetraread · 30/11/2019 18:46

I sub anyway, but I'm tempted to try for the Christmas box. I wasn't going to, but actually most of those I would definitely use, so for £30 it seems decent. The Huda pallette was on sale for £8, but even then for just £22 more the rest is good. The Laura Mercier obviously isn't full size, but as a little goes a long way happy with that. The only thing I won't use is the candle, but it would make a nice present. Do you think it will be hard to get if trying at 7 on the nose?

The Lego calendar was at a local shop, but I wouldn't be surprised if places half price them soon, ideal for next year!

problembottom · 30/11/2019 19:21

I’m so excited for my Look Fantastic one tomorrow. No idea what’s in it just hope not too samey from two years ago.

Bansku19 · 30/11/2019 19:24

John Lewis calendar has sold out but Debenhams is still available at £45 if anyone is interested.

I made dh calendar using my last years Mugler 12 day one. I am excited about M&S tomorrow. Dh thinks the calendar is beautiful. I might fill that for him next year.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 30/11/2019 19:52

Sooo excited for the morning. I have the Debenhams one and my dd & ds have playmobil, LOL and a chocolate one each Blush

Sammi38 · 30/11/2019 20:47

Just one more sleep to go!

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 30/11/2019 21:42

Looking forward to the morning! :)

Costacoffeeplease · 30/11/2019 22:24

Has anyone else got the Harrods one?

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 30/11/2019 22:45

I don't, but I have just gone and looked at the page for it - £250 considering the sizes of the products? Bloody hell! www.harrods.com/en-gb/harrods/the-harrods-beauty-advent-calendar-p000000000006506107 talk about ridiculous!

I have just taken the calendars out of their cardboard packaging boxes (if i couldn't see the shiny boxes they weren't really here and I didn't want to open them ;) ) I'd forgotten how heavy the birchbox one is! It weighs an absolute tonne!

whyamidoingthis · 30/11/2019 23:03

Debenham's daily thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/3757217-Debenhams-Advent-Calendar

LEELULUMPKIN · 01/12/2019 00:14

Thanks for the links. Are there threads for Liberty and Look Fantastic too?

LEELULUMPKIN · 01/12/2019 01:13

Thanks for that Talisin. I couldn't find a Liberty one so started it myself. Here is the link

I’m holding off starting the Grazia since I won’t get mine until Monday night. Anyone wanna start it?

Day 1 of the MotherMade Calendar is.....Clarins one step cleanser!

Writersblock2 · 01/12/2019 09:38

I thought a general swap thread may be useful: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/3757449-Advent-Calendar-Swap-Thread?watched=1

OP posts:
Doubleraspberry · 01/12/2019 09:47

Won’t that need a big spoiler warning? One of the threads I’m on has just accidentally spoilt someone’s Jadvent calendar!

Would anyone be interested in a Cult Beauty thread? I’m very impressed with my day one.

Writersblock2 · 01/12/2019 09:48

If someone is opening in January then tbh they should stay clear of the threads.

OP posts:
Doubleraspberry · 01/12/2019 09:51

Even on different calendars? Someone just commented that they had swapped with their mum, who has ‘x’ calendar. It’s fraught with peril! I think a general swaps thread might need a ‘here be dragons’ warning, just to remind people.

Writersblock2 · 01/12/2019 09:54

No, not on different threads - probably a bit unfair to post about different calendars in the specific calendar threads.

Happy advent calendar day!
I've now got fomo as I didnt order one, tempted to order the debenhams or asos so I'm not missing. Has anywhere else got them still in stock?

My birchboxes arrived yesterday and I'm quite impressed so I'll be keeping the sub for December at least. Glossy boxes are arriving Tuesday

buckeejit · 01/12/2019 10:56

Mankind looks good! I've got an ASOS advent & love the box it came in-so nice!

I'm debating opening the jo Malone on dh bought me as considering selling it. Didn't really want it & for the money I could buy myself some jewellery which I'd probably prefer....

LEELULUMPKIN · 01/12/2019 11:19

Just to let you all know that I have started a Mankind thread if anyone is interested. Link below.
