Anyone else got the Space NK or Fenwick calendars? Great first items in both Grin

Butterymuffin · 01/12/2019 12:30

Looking forward to using the swap thread, though I'm happy with my 1st Dec items. Maybe on that thread we could just say what item we want to swap rather than which calendar it's from? That minimises spoilers.

ashmts · 01/12/2019 13:32

I've just started an ASOS thread as I couldn't see one. Not sure it's as popular on here as the others but I had it last year too and was pleased with it.

diamondsandrose · 01/12/2019 15:00

Just started a Grazia one, come and say hello Smile

OnTheFirstDayOfChristmas · 01/12/2019 15:43

@eatsleepmoverepeat I'm really happy with the Space nk first day. Might have a long soak in the bath and use this and the M and S one tonight

Writersblock2 · 01/12/2019 16:04

@diamondsandrose thanks for starting the thread! Mine won’t get picked up until my hubby goes to work tomorrow night so my first opening will be on Tuesday when I can then open three. I will be joining you then for Grazia openings!

Can anyone point me in the direction of an Amazon thread? I bought one for DD and am curious as to what is in it - I don't think she'll have time for daily updates this month, so thought I might cheat and look here! Grin Happy Advent all!

eatsleepmoverepeat · 01/12/2019 17:10

@OnTheFirstDayOfChristmas I’ve got M&S too! It’s DH’s birthday though so no nice long bath for me to enjoy them today!

dedee · 01/12/2019 18:11

I picked up my Space NK Calendar today.

I prefer this item to the one in my M & S Calendar.

Wolfcub · 01/12/2019 18:25

Very happy with my l'occitane calendar today. Definitely something I will use

RedInferno · 01/12/2019 22:12

I used the day 1 Space NK today. Gorgeous! Are we allowed to say what’s in them or does that ruin it for others?

RedInferno · 01/12/2019 22:13

Oh just read back. No spoilers!

ReeRi · 02/12/2019 08:48

@RedInferno There are separate threads for opening of the various calendars. Not sure if there is one for SpaceNK but you could start one...

doadeer · 02/12/2019 08:49

I started a space nk one last night!

motherofdoodles · 02/12/2019 09:00

Hi can anyone direct me to the M&S beauty advent calendar thread? Can't find them and it's the 2nd 😳

motherofdoodles · 02/12/2019 09:01

Sorry just rtft and found it!!

whyamidoingthis · 02/12/2019 10:09

Is anybody else finding the coyness about the products on the calendar specific threads irritating? I want to discuss the items I got and check out some of the calendars I didn't get to see were they worthwhile.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to say what the item is on the relevant day (obviously not mentioning stuff further on in the month). If you don't want to know what it is, don't go onto the thread until you have opened your own.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 02/12/2019 10:14

Yes, absolutely @whyamidoingthis
(And that's why I said the Clinique 'product' on your thread)
It's ridiculous to not be allowed discuss the contents in December. That's the whole point of the threads, surely Confused

BlueSkyAtChristmas · 02/12/2019 10:49

I have a few advent calendars which I’m sharing with my mum, sister, mil. We all have different makeup tastes/ skin/ hair needs. So sharing them has been ideal. We don’t use them as advent calendars so already opened them and split up the haul. Well we have used two boxes to fill with treats (mainly activities) for the children. I won’t post spoilers here, but will discuss in general. we decided to buy them instead of re-stocking our makeup bags due to the value and chance to try new things.

We had the Liberty, Look Fantastic, Glossybox and Elle.

For me (late 30s, love high end makeup and luxury skincare for skin which is starting to show signs of ageing but not dry skin) my favourite box has been the Elle. It’s just so fabulous- literally every day is an awesome or cult product. It’s so impressive for the price. I am surprised it didn’t get more press.

The Liberty looks amazing (it’s currently being reused for my daughter!) and we all loved some of the products a lot. But I would say the Elle calendar was more universal in its appeal.

Day 1 hair product in Liberty I reacted to. Day 2 oil is now my holy grail!!

The eyeshadow palettes were popular from the LF and GB calendars.

But the Elle calendar has literally blown me away. Marc Jacobs mascara and Nars multiple orgasm in Day 1 and 2! And the calendar gets better !!

ajandjjmum · 02/12/2019 12:16

So glad you've said that - I've bought the Elle calendar for DD as a Christmas present - we all need cheering up in January!

Sammi38 · 02/12/2019 12:24

The beauty expert calendar you can now get for £70. It was originally £100, I paid £80. There are some amazing products in the 12 doors and they’re all full size.

LEELULUMPKIN · 02/12/2019 12:40

I agree with you all of you PP's. If you don't want to know what it is, don't read thread for that day.

I was on my PC before I had a chance to dive into my stash this morning and purposely avoided those threads.

Soon as I had, away I went.

Not difficult is it?

KeithPartridge · 02/12/2019 12:45

I thought the Elle calendar looked amazing too. I didn't get it as I have already tried the vast majority of products in it. All brilliant but I just wanted to try new things. Loved the Elle calendar last year as well and did buy it hen.

KeithPartridge · 02/12/2019 12:45

Then!

Sammi38 · 02/12/2019 13:11
