M&S Beauty Advent Calendar 2019

Writersblock2 · 21/09/2019 15:53

Starting a thread to discuss the contents as we hit December.

Who is getting this one this year?

This was my very first beauty calendar last year and it’s definitely got me addicted. I loved it!

This year you can order the calendar from 31st October. Price is £40 when you spend £25 at M&S. Contents are worth over £300.

If you do want to know the full contents you can find them over at ReallyRee (SPOLIERS!).

Please don’t discuss the contents ahead of time on here as most people don’t want to know (or as in my case, read then forget!).

Not particularly impressed by today’s as I have loads of the mini versions of these from hotels and I never use them! I might start using them in the kids’ rooms...

AmethystMoonShine · 19/12/2019 07:05

@Beadstar I love today’s, would you like to swap for anything else in the calendar?
PM me if you’re interested Xmas Smile

This Works Sleep Together Calming Spray 75ml. I confess, I opened mine last night too as I don’t have time in the morning before work. I tried it out before I slept and I slept very well (I don’t usually). Could be because I’m poorly though lol.

OK, this product is my nemesis! Lavender makes me hurl. But I now have a present for my child’s teacher tomorrow.

ReeRi · 19/12/2019 08:04

I think today’s was good. I seem to recall we got a smaller version of the same thing last year but I’m not sure 🤔

It’s a good size.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 19/12/2019 08:11

Is this a different product to the "Deep Sleep Pillow Spray" or has it just changed name?
We definitely got a small pillow spray last year which I liked but NOT when sprayed onto my pillow! The smell kept waking me up, ironically...It's much nicer as a general room spray

ReeRi · 19/12/2019 08:13

Oh you’re right @IToldYouIWasFreaky it was a pillow spray. I just asked this was the same thing

ReeRi · 19/12/2019 08:13

I meant I just assumed this was the same thing

So where did we use this if not on bedding?

Butterymuffin · 19/12/2019 08:32

Don't really get the 'sleep together' branding, as if it's a couples' sleep spray. Good size though.

ajandjjmum · 19/12/2019 09:15

The pillow spray was the only thing I bought from last year's calendar - from memory, the large size was £45 - so not cheap! But it's part of my bedtime routine, and I do think it helps me to sleep better.

TheNavigator · 19/12/2019 09:16

Happy with todays. Just to add, after wearing it for a few days, I have found I absolutely love the fuzzy peach perfume - it is like a soft, warm hug.

Xmasbaby11 · 19/12/2019 09:22

Pillow spray looks nice - think I used it last time and it felt luxurious.

I love the hand cream. It is tiny and won't last a week - I might save it for a rare weekend away!

Xmasbaby11 · 19/12/2019 09:22

I'm enjoying the peach perfume too!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 19/12/2019 10:01

Can’t wait to try today’s. Even the DC want to try it.

ExpletiveFairylighted · 19/12/2019 10:03

Just dropping in to say that I was on the thread last year, decided not to do M&S this year but am loving reading this thread. It's making me want to go out and buy a few of the products! Last year the only thing I re-bought was the Prai neck cream, on offer a few weeks ago. Still using the nail varnish, eye liner and bronzer.

Some of you have mentioned swaps - I still have the English Cherry perfume from last year (sprayed once and didn't like) and wondered if there was anyone else who'd like to swap it for this year's perfume, which I like the sound of.

CointreauVersial · 19/12/2019 11:53

Sleep spray looks good, and it's something I do use - but you can buy the same thing MUCH cheaper in Boots etc if you aren't fussed about the brand name. It's just lavender and camomile usually.

L'Occitane hand cream is the "mutt's nuts", but I agree, that tiny tube won't last long with my leathery paws.

Teabeautyandturning40 · 19/12/2019 12:23

Love today's, sprayed my room before I left for work. I will definitely use it in the kids rooms! Might even bathe them in the stuff

Tupperwarelid · 19/12/2019 15:21

I love the sleep spray, I bought the bigger size after getting it last year. Looking forward to trying this out.

Bansku19 · 19/12/2019 17:35

How do you use this spray? Spray the pillows or the air?

profpoopsnagle · 19/12/2019 17:59

Expletive, if it's the Black Tulip one from last Christmas, then I would be happy to swop it for the peach.

PrincessWatermelon · 19/12/2019 19:24

I'm also happy with today's. I bought full size from last year and it's nice to have this clearly - room and pillow and for the whole family. I would occasionally spray my Pillow Spray for the kids, but didn't want to go too overboard on it. They both love it, so fingers crossed it helps them rest and sleep. Excellent size too.

Butterymuffin · 19/12/2019 22:30

Putting in another link to the swaps thread in case anyone would like to come over and make any offers of unwanted items:

ExpletiveFairylighted · 19/12/2019 23:17

@profpoopsnagle apologies, it was from this summer's box, not last Christmas, I remember disliking both but must have got rid of the Black Tulip one somewhere else I think.

wellthatsjustgreat · 20/12/2019 06:56

First disappointment for me today but only because I won't use it & not because there is anything wrong with it. I'm going to pass on to my daughter so all is not lost.
Can't believe there's only 5 more days left. I'm going to miss opening my calendar.

SirProjectofThigh · 20/12/2019 07:15

I don’t wear shadow that often buts it’s a nice quality brush. Was v pleased with yesterday’s.

Do you think the marketing team at M&S take notes on these threads? Grin
