M&S Beauty Advent Calendar 2019

Starting a thread to discuss the contents as we hit December.

Who is getting this one this year?

This was my very first beauty calendar last year and it’s definitely got me addicted. I loved it!

This year you can order the calendar from 31st October. Price is £40 when you spend £25 at M&S. Contents are worth over £300.

If you do want to know the full contents you can find them over at ReallyRee (SPOLIERS!).

Please don’t discuss the contents ahead of time on here as most people don’t want to know (or as in my case, read then forget!).

I don't use shampoo so that's straight into the swap box! Xmas Grin
However, I used the Formula sleep cream last night and my face feels lovely today so I am happy about that, and my sparkly pink nails!

ReeRi · 09/12/2019 08:16

I used the Formula night cream (albeit the one I got in last years calendar as I only just started using this month) and the eye and lip cream and my skin does feel nice and smooth today.

I’m not excited about the shampoo. I try to use sulphate free mostly but what bothers me most is if it’s on its own without conditioner... Surely most would want to use them as a set?

ReeRi · 09/12/2019 08:16

I do like the way elasticised though and used that last night actually (think maybe I got that in a different calendar or set)

ReeRi · 09/12/2019 08:17

Sorry typos - I meant I do like the elasticizer though

Writersblock2 · 09/12/2019 08:23

Loving the polish from earlier in the week. Rocking it today. Need all the help I can get 13 hour shift. Boo!

Pleased with this as I love the elasticiser. And I definitely need the volumising! So it's a good one for me.

mammmamia · 09/12/2019 08:37

Also pleased today. Saving for work trips / holiday.

HollyHocks13 · 09/12/2019 10:16

I'm happy with today's - it'll be a nice little treat to take in weekends away. It would be nice if we got the elasticiser again too though...

ReeRi · 09/12/2019 10:46

I just think shampoo without conditioner is a bit rubbish

DobbyTheHouseElk · 09/12/2019 11:06

Apply with the shampoo. I have great hair so oils and serums are always useless. First time a hair product I can use.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 09/12/2019 11:06

That’s should read happy. Not apply but obviously I will apply it....

Beadstar · 09/12/2019 11:51

Not very impressed with today’s as I have the opposite to fine, limp hair...

I also think shampoo without conditioner isn’t great. The ASOS one gave a matching set the other day.

Saying that, it also gave a Phillip Kingsley leave in conditioner today so I’m sorted now!

PrincessWatermelon · 09/12/2019 18:22

I'll be interested to try this. Loved the Philip Kingsley elasticizer last year (took me a while to warm up to it, but nearly rebought. Not quite though!). So happy to try this. But also have very full, healthy and bouncy hair so don't really need any more body!

Vebrithien · 09/12/2019 19:07

Happy with the contents so far. Have given the mascara to DM, as I've only just started a new one.
I also have the Holland and Barrett natural beauty calender, which has been amazing so far.

NorthernLightsInWinter · 09/12/2019 19:14

Shame shampoo doesn't come with a condition. I think that should be mandatory, tbh.

littlepooch · 09/12/2019 21:05

Ah the shampoo is no good for me - I have the most ridiculously big hair as it is and spend hours trying to tame it and de volume it. 😂😂

So one to give to my mum I think.

wellthatsjustgreat · 10/12/2019 07:03

Good morning everyone! I'm feeling strangely cheerful despite also feeling utterly exhausted. I'm quite pleased with this mornings and am off to use it now,
Out of interest, has anyone found a new product in the calendar that they think they'll repurchase? For me it's the Aveda hair treatment- it seem to work miracles on my curls Smile

Teabeautyandturning40 · 10/12/2019 07:11

Happy with today's one, again, I haven't used this brand before. It is quite perfumed but I like the smell of it. @wellthatsjustgreat I will definitely purchase the aveda stuff as although its pricey for what I usually spend, I think it will last ages. And I am definitely buying the ren night cream again, I'm getting on with that brilliantly

AmethystMoonShine · 10/12/2019 07:13

Pleased with today’s. I’ve had a Nuxe advent calendar previously, I think it was a twelve day one. Love their products.

Writersblock2 · 10/12/2019 07:27

I love Nuxe so very happy with today’s!

Could someone else check this out. I took today's offering out of the box and left it by my bedside light. Looking through the tube now it looks like the tube is only about 1/3 full! Not sure if the photo shows it.

Is this normal?

M&S Beauty Advent Calendar 2019
ScribblyGum · 10/12/2019 07:35

Ha! OK so it says the tube contains 15ml which is pretty minuscule amount, they’ve just put it in a bigger tube to make it look like you’ve got more product. Righto then 😐

sluj · 10/12/2019 07:37

Mines the same.

HollyHocks13 · 10/12/2019 07:44

That's really dishonest! I can't believe they've only filled the tube by a third...
Not sure about today's anyway. I like the brand but not sure I'll use this. What is it supposed to do?

Writersblock2 · 10/12/2019 07:47

Alright that’s crap that they’ve done that.

I’m addition, the nail polish is rubbish. I’ve only had it on one day and my nails are a mess. And I use base coat and top coat! I normally use a variety of different brands and get two weeks out of it.

M&S, not impressed.
