M&S Beauty Advent Calendar 2019

Writersblock2 · 21/09/2019 15:53

Starting a thread to discuss the contents as we hit December.

Who is getting this one this year?

This was my very first beauty calendar last year and it’s definitely got me addicted. I loved it!

This year you can order the calendar from 31st October. Price is £40 when you spend £25 at M&S. Contents are worth over £300.

If you do want to know the full contents you can find them over at ReallyRee (SPOLIERS!).

Please don’t discuss the contents ahead of time on here as most people don’t want to know (or as in my case, read then forget!).

@sunshinecake - Thanks

friedbeansandcheese · 05/12/2019 21:20

I'm loving the calendar. Great brands, a good mix of products.

But someone mentioned hints on the boxes - I've not noticed that!

I got the M&S calendar two years ago and was pleased with it. This is even better!

Was away yesterday so just done a double open and am v pleased! Skin care is what I’m here for and I love the smell of roses! Night cream always good. Slapping both on now with the eye cream!

plightofthealbatross · 05/12/2019 22:35

Really enjoying mine ... delighted to have another nice night cream to try.

Doubleraspberry · 05/12/2019 22:42

I’m wearing the night cream and my skin feels like it’s burning. Might just be the shock of a product applied.

ReeRi · 05/12/2019 23:01

I’m actually wearing the night cream we got last year as it’s the same brand as the eye and lip cream. TBH I never noticed any effect with the night cream but it’s hydrating enough...

poorremus · 05/12/2019 23:14

I am loving the rose cleanser - thing is, my skin feels so hydrated that I don't want to try the night creamGrin

Hoping for something a bit different than skincare tomorrow - but I think this Advent calendar is great quality this year so far

AmethystMoonShine · 06/12/2019 06:35

Hi all
Bit late joining but have been on previous years’ threads under a similar user name.
Today’s is okay but personally would have liked brown. I’m ageing and can’t really pull off black these days Hmm
So far liking the Aveda hair stuff the best.

Beadstar · 06/12/2019 07:09

Today’s is the first that I won’t use as I never wear it.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 06/12/2019 07:18

Little bit meh about today's. I seem to have a million eyeliners stashed away from previous advent calendars etc. And I also prefer brown to black. The Stila one in last year's calendar was lovely!
However if this gets positive reviews from everyone then I will give it a try.
It's another full size product too so can't moan about that!

Writersblock2 · 06/12/2019 07:24

I’m a bit meh on today’s too. Mostly because it’s pretty boring. I mean, who doesn’t have a black eyeliner (if they like eyeliner)?

Don’t get slack now, M&S calendar!

I love an eyeliner but normally use brown. I'm using this today though to see what it's like. It's not the most exciting of products but I will use it (unless it's rubbish) and it's full sized which is good.

AmethystMoonShine · 06/12/2019 07:37

Just thinking it might be okay for what I think is called tight lining? The thing where you line under the top lashes and kind of in between them. My lashes are dark, so might be okay for that....

Writersblock2 · 06/12/2019 07:55

Oh yeah. Tight lining. Don’t try when half asleep! Grin

I use black eyeliner a lot, so for me, it's quite practical. But I'm here for the excitement and products I mightn't normally try. Would have preferred a liner in a less safe, less ordinary colour.

Butterymuffin · 06/12/2019 08:12

Meh, I'm not thrilled with this as I don't use it and also already have many eyeliner pencils from previous boxes and calendars. And I agree that it's not exciting. Oh well! Filler items will crop up I guess.
To whoever asked, a swap thread was started and linked on the general calendar thread. I'll look for that and head there with my eyeliner...

ReeRi · 06/12/2019 08:12

I like today’s product. It’s something most people would use and, if you had one already, you would surely need to replace it at some point...

It’s not exciting but I used it this morning and it’s nice

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 06/12/2019 08:13

also a bit meh for the black eyeliner, not least because I had 2 in the glossybox mystery boxes and also one in the lookfantastic that i got.

Eyeliner overkill - especially as I don't wear it Grin

Autograph Khol Black Eyeliner (fullsize)

fitflopqueen · 06/12/2019 08:14

This is the first product I won't use, it will probably go into my daughters stocking. Otherwise love the calendar, get it every year?

ReeRi · 06/12/2019 08:24

@CottonHeadedNinyMuggins Eyeliner and mascara are something you’d get in most calendars / sets I think so you risk duplication if you’re getting a several sets... Easy to gift though!

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 06/12/2019 08:38

Aye :) I pass everything I don't/won't use to my cousin and her daughter so it definitely all gets used :)

ReeRi · 06/12/2019 08:43

It’s quite nice and creamy tbf

Also BtW for anyone interested it’s the big Soap & Glory offer today in Boots £30 set worth £82

MysweetAudrina · 06/12/2019 08:48

Completely meh with today's offering. I found last years one in dds room at Halloween, she was using it to decorate her face. Last year was my first year to get a beauty calendar and I found it so exciting opening it every morning but I am just not feeling it this year. I think a nice perfume or something a bit different is needed for me to get that feeling.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 06/12/2019 08:49

I don't really mind about getting eyeliners but you do seem to get them in every bloody box/calendar and even though I wear it every day, I only seem to get through about one a year! Can't remember the last time I actually bought eyeliner! Crown Grin
