Royal style & gossip: Breton stripes and skinny jeans...

Previous thread. I think we'll be a bit short of royal outfits as they're all off on their holidays atm. But Kate's regatta is coming up next week, hence the thread title!

Same rules as always - keep it light, critique the clothes rather than the women, and don't believe anything printed in the Daily Mail Grin

Definitely less controversial than Vogue in the title.
Looking forward thé the Cambridges Coordinating nautical outfits!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/08/2019 22:39

Thanks for the new thread Queen.👍

For anyone who's interested, Pippa Middleton is a weekend fitness writer for Waitrose magazine, this week writing about buggy running with baby Arthur. It's a thing apparently. Who knew?

Rhubarbisevil · 01/08/2019 22:43

Pippa does write well, I’ll give her that.

Wetdogloveshubert · 01/08/2019 22:43

Wine @QueenOfTheAndals

@Myimaginarycathasfleas it's all the rage in my city! Fitness buggies are a 'thing' and heavily debated among friends with small babies still. I imagine Pippa would have an excellent range of buggies, and fitness wear for jogging around the local parks!

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/08/2019 22:50

It's been a thing for a while hasn't it? I remember Tom and Nicole popularising running with buggies back in the 90s. It was when the 3 wheeled ones came on the market.

I believe Will n Kate are up in Norfolk at the mo. I guess they spend all school holidays in the UK up there.

StCharlotte · 01/08/2019 23:09

Checking in. Thanks for the new thread Queen.

frugalkitty · 01/08/2019 23:11

Checking in but still on holiday with dodgy signal! Need to find and catch up on the last thread, but hope everyone is well!

BigGreenOlives · 01/08/2019 23:12

I'm so pleased someone mentioned Suited and Booted, it's a very well run charity and does well at getting people interview ready. They go into prisons (which I think SmartWorks) does too and supply men with plain black polo shirts, hi-vis jackets etc as well as passing on suits, ties etc.

I will be wearing heeled espadrilles this weekend as I want shoes I can wear on grass which will give me a little height. Oh I hope that isn't too outing Wink.

mathanxiety · 01/08/2019 23:30

Are fitness buggies not already a thing in the UK? For years and years now I have run the risk of being flattened by them when I venture forth on foot.

They are fantastic - I actually had one myself in the late 90s. The big wheels bounce right over cracks in the pavement and over twigs, pebbles, etc. and they're easy to pull up and push down steps. They steer really well.

Daisypie · 01/08/2019 23:40

Thanks Queen.

RomaineCalm · 01/08/2019 23:43

Thank you for the new thread. I rarely have much to contribute but do love reading the discussion.

Apparently they are! Things have changed a bit since I had my DC.Grin
In my own defence, in my quiet corner of the world they aren't much in evidence!

beanaseireann · 02/08/2019 00:35

Thank you QueenoftheAndals for the new thread.

BigGreenOlives · 02/08/2019 00:38

I had a running buggy in 1998 and ran races with DD1 in it. There have been classes for mothers with babies in them for years. Very odd. It had proper tyres you could inflate and a brake and wrist strap.

I doubt she's actually writing it herself!!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 02/08/2019 07:53

There are fitness classes near me where you use your baby as a weight. So like body pump, but baby is the weight. All that jiggling around. Crazy,
