Previous thread. I think we'll be a bit short of royal outfits as they're all off on their holidays atm. But Kate's regatta is coming up next week, hence the thread title!

Same rules as always - keep it light, critique the clothes rather than the women, and don't believe anything printed in the Daily Mail Grin

Did someone leak the pictures to the Press? Or was it someone close to them? I think it’s a very smart PR move.
Kate looks like she is dressed in an old fashion sloaney circa 80s kind of way.

Wetdogloveshubert · 22/08/2019 14:37

It's odd, because they've all taken (and will inevitably continue to take) budget and private flights, and it's probably entirely dependent on availability / threat level / privacy potential etc. A quick flight to Aberdeen is not the same as a longer flight to somewhere in Europe, though I remember Kate and William both taking budget flights for 'work' trips.

Maybe the PR just needs to be better planned? sigh

queenofarles · 22/08/2019 14:42

The Cambridges went to the Mustique on a commercial flight right?
They’ve always had, someone on MN posted about being on the same flight as them few years ago, probably when George was still a baby.

BertrandRussell · 22/08/2019 14:43

Does anything but Flybe fly from Norwich to Aberdeen?

Doyoureallyneedtoask · 22/08/2019 14:45

For goodness sake William and Kate are just back from a £27.000 a week accommodation alone holiday.

If comparisons are to be drawn it should be annually surely.

They certainly have good PR behind them but using public transport isn’t going to be compatible with William’s desire for privacy.

We see a tiny glimpse of their lives, usually controlled and what they want us to see. I think there would be public outcry if their lavish lifestyles of the RF were fully known which is why it will never happen.

It really is time for them to go.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 22/08/2019 14:46

I love Flybe! Exeter airport is still small and relatively civilised. Used to be lovely. Before the security clampdown you could be in the cafe having coffee within sight of your plane half an hour before take off. When we used to put my parents on the plane home we could practically wave them off from the tarmac!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 22/08/2019 14:48

Not sure you can fly directly into Mustique. I think it would have to be St Vincent then onward by small aircraft. I could be wrong though. I've only ever been there by boat!

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/08/2019 15:00

The video seems a bit too staged with William lugging all the bags and George helping him. It's just so that people can say "oh look they're just like us really" etc.

itswinetime · 22/08/2019 15:06

I'd be very surprised if it came out they flew commercial to Mustique! I was t sure the press were even sure exactly when they went I don't see how they could do that without a picture being taken when this flight is photographed.

My guess would be it is a genuine public shot from the angle or quality but you can bet any money they didn't make it hard to for people to catch a snap which is hardly the normal Cambridge line!

All seems very petty to me!

queenofarles · 22/08/2019 15:08

Or maybe Queen they do want their DCs to be independent and carry their own luggage.

BertrandRussell · 22/08/2019 15:09

Good thing it wasn’t Ryanair- all those bags would have coat a fortune!

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/08/2019 15:19

I'm sure they would've got a discount for booking early @BertrandRussell...

OP posts:
GotToGoMyOwnWay · 22/08/2019 15:23

I don’t reckon that’s all their luggage. 6 people with so few bags? For a weekend with HM? No chance. IMO.

queenofarles · 22/08/2019 15:27

Its just one blurry photo, and yet it’s not.
IYKWIM. The timing the message it’s sending out.
I really think the Cambridges are very savvy and have a better control on what should be public and what should be kept private.

Glower · 22/08/2019 15:28

For goodness sake William and Kate are just back from a £27.000 a week accommodation alone holiday.

It’s not really the money that people are annoyed about (in this case!) it’s the environment.

I don’t think it was necessarily planned as a PR move since we know W&K do get commercial flights and apparently just got one to Mustique, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t good PR!

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/08/2019 15:30

I think it's just a little bit too obvious and both brothers are coming across as childish.

OP posts:
itswinetime · 22/08/2019 15:44

It's blatant they obviously unloaded them first leaving all the normal folk waiting or is it just me who ends up on planes were unloading is pretty similar to a stampede! If it wasn't a point making exercise they would go last and it all would go unnoticed! Like every other year they have travelled to balmoral when we have no idea how they got there!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 22/08/2019 15:46

I get the feeling that William isn't very nice to Harry, for whatever reason. There is often a barb in his banter. I wonder if the distance between them hasn't been a long time coming. It's easy to say they should just grow up but sibling conflict runs deep. I find it sad though, given their circumstances and their loss.

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/08/2019 15:50

New thread!

beanaseireann · 22/08/2019 15:52

Gosh the knives are really out for Harry and Meghan in the Daily Fail.
Why ?

NoTheresa · 22/08/2019 15:55

I think the British people aren’t able to cope with her beauty.

That is the most silly contribution to the thread. 🙄

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/08/2019 16:00

The tabloids love nothing more than to tear down women. Confident women even more so. The Daily Mail couldn't care less about climate change - they aren't covering this story because of concern for the planet, they're doing it to have a pop at the Sussexes. Just like their story about how Archie's blanket was made in a sweatshop (only it wasn't) was published not out of concern for underpaid factory workers but because they wanted to have a go at Meghan.

Why QueenoftheAndals?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 22/08/2019 17:40

That made no ( autocorrect)
Coming back.
