Previous thread. I think we'll be a bit short of royal outfits as they're all off on their holidays atm. But Kate's regatta is coming up next week, hence the thread title!

Same rules as always - keep it light, critique the clothes rather than the women, and don't believe anything printed in the Daily Mail Grin

Padded fabric headbands? - hmmmm. Only for the very young or the very beautiful. Like many fashions Grin

ElspethFlashman · 03/08/2019 17:47

I loathe them with a passion. Too Sloaney for me. Asos is awash with them.

In fairness some of the blingier ones you could wear instead of a fascinator at a wedding and anything > fascinators in my book.

Boilingfrog · 03/08/2019 17:51

I was a bit like omg they’ll RIP HER TO SHREDS wtf is she THINKING? About Meghan. I mean I do think kate has managed her own role brilliantly, but a lot of that has been living in Anglesey when first married etc, I don’t really think that’s Meghan’s style.

But now I’m really enjoying meghans take! I mean, why not, what’s she got to lose, she may as well do as she likes since she’s going to get tormented by the press anyway. I think her whole style and aspiration is quite gwynnie paltrow (who I quite like these days as well). She should just crack on and ignore the haterz. It’s certainly very interesting, and this is just her emerging from maternity leave! I wonder is she thinking of maternity time in the American sense, ie I’ve had a few months now let’s get back into things?

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/08/2019 18:35

It is very Goop isn't it? Gwyneth seems like someone Meghan would be BFFs but I've not read that they know each other.

I think you have a point there @Boilingfrog ...all my American cousins were back at work within 3 months of giving birth (jobs only protected for 12 weeks) - never heard them complain about it, they just got on with it!

beanaseireann · 03/08/2019 19:13

Penneys ( Primark in Ireland) has those headbands in black velvet with pearls. How Sloaney is that !Smile

Gooseysgirl · 03/08/2019 19:13

BTW not saying that it's right/wrong - just that it seems to be the accepted way of doing things there.

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/08/2019 19:15

That sounds very Anne Boleyn @beanaseireann!

Team Headband here.

I have 11! Blush Accidental Amazon click. But I've only worn two and they're all the knotted scarf type rather than the padded type.

TSSDNCOP · 03/08/2019 19:45

If dear little Archie is anything like my DS, MM by now will be sitting there looking at his comatose form thinking “right, what do I do now?”. I absolutely know it’s not the same for everyone, if you have a sleeper I learnt very quickly never to mention it, but honestly I could have rules the world when DS was 3 months old. It was a totally different matter when he hit 3, just in case anyone is planning to shoot me 🤣

Espadrille Haters: look away now

don’t say I didn’t warn you

trixiebelden77 · 03/08/2019 21:33

I like that Meghan’s trying to do something practical beyond ‘awareness raising’.

She’s in an awkward spot. You don’t get the profile to do stuff like this without being rich and famous (Sally Unknown the well-regarded engineer/constitutional lawyer/research scientist etc is never going to be asked to edit Vogue) but then you really struggle to remain credible once you are rich and famous (and hence insulated from most of the things you might campaign about).

Good luck to her.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 03/08/2019 22:01

Anyone watching the documentary on princess Margret?

MotherofPearl · 03/08/2019 22:27

Rhubarb, I quite fancy one of those espadrilles workshops! I know I'm in the minority with this, but I love a summery espadrille.

Not on board with the headbands though, sorry!

mathanxiety · 03/08/2019 23:51

That was an excellent Buzzfeed article.

Eamonn Holmes should be fired and should never work again in broadcasting.

MotherofPearl · 04/08/2019 07:23

Leti out and about in a b&w dress that I think we've seen before?

www.instagram.com/p/B0rq6yUhdP8/

She is looking very tanned!

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/08/2019 07:31

Leti looks great, as usual, but I actually want Infanta Sofia's dress! Both girls are so blonde - must be the Danish blood in them. I think SFF and his sisters were all blond as children.

OP posts:
ElspethFlashman · 04/08/2019 07:48

Leti is becoming downright mahogany. I hope it's fake but I suspect its real. Let's hope she doesn't go a bit leathery.

Horsemad · 04/08/2019 08:31

Love Leti's dress, less keen on the tan 🙂

Daisypie · 04/08/2019 08:34

Have always admired Leti but think her face is looking a bit worked on here. Wish women were allowed to age.

hopeishere · 04/08/2019 08:53

Picture from Sussexes insta. Cute additional message from Harry. Love this colour on Meghan!

Gooseysgirl · 04/08/2019 08:57

Loved that dress on Meghan - hope we see a rewear at some point!

beanaseireann · 04/08/2019 09:09

QueenoftheAndals
What is SFF please ?
I've just been down an internet rabbit hole on the life of Leti's mil and other Greek royalty.
Queen Sofia hasnt had it easy - King Juan Carlos and his female friends, her daughters and son in law financial scandal.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/08/2019 09:44

@beanaseireann Silver Fox Felipe! Lucky Leti gets to hang out with him and HSPM (Hot Spanish prime minister) on occasion!

I knew it was Meghan's birthday this month, lovely photo and sweet message from Harry.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/08/2019 09:48

King JC is a bit of a sleaze, rumour has it he tried it on with Diana too. Sofia is the very definition of the long-suffering wife!
