Hi Miffy! Old singer’s trick of sipping hot honey and lemon -with gin or whiskey- really helps the throat/mouth/sinus area as it increases circulation to the area to encourage infection fighting. Just need to avoid doing so when you’ve had any lozenges or sprays with anaesthetic in them or you will burn yourself. I do hope you feel better.
I too, have lost someone in the last 24hrs. While I was having a lovely, hedonistic day with my daughters yesterday, my lovely cousin died of lung cancer. He was 50. I’m terribly sad because he was one of the most intelligent, creative souls who never, ever had a chance thanks to the severely dysfunctional parents we were all dealt. I am reading the way you ladies describe your children and it fills me with so much joy!!! (Mine have been terribly smooched since I found out, too. Luckily they’re mostly very tolerant.)

GinandGingerBeer · 03/06/2019 06:25

God that's lung isn't it @just ☹️
Miffy I hope you're feeling a bit better? I'm awake tat the crack of dawn even though I didn't go to keep until about 1am.
I've just started HRT and I'm hoping it well help, fingers crossed. No work today though.
I ordered one of those strapless bras from Next that @never linked for me. Managed to refrain from ordering any hush stuff, the 10% off was tempting me towards those gorgeous turquoise earrings....but my bank account looks a bit depleted already for the 3rd of the month!

GinandGingerBeer · 03/06/2019 06:27

Oh god so sorry, what a terrible typo Sad
It should read 'young'
Apologies Thanks

Ellapaella · 03/06/2019 06:45

@justilou1 sorry for your loss Thanks
Thanks for the new thread cherries

justilou1 · 03/06/2019 07:55

Thanks, Lovelies. My kids have been adorable. (Youngest daughter wrote me a beautiful letter today and she doesn't even know about my cousin!!!). @Gin - I have been on HRT for a couple of months now, and I will say that it's been wonderful for clearing the impending sense of doom that hit with perimenopause. Probably made me a much nicer person to hang out with!

GinandGingerBeer · 03/06/2019 08:49

Well I felt great on holiday but that was holiday so let's see what real life brings! I've only been on it a few weeks,it's giving me massive boob pain/tenderness which I also experienced while on the minera coil. I'm going to give it a fair go though...
My kids have been my lifeline over the years in many ways. We jumped from bereavement to bereavement in the space of 5 years and my boys were very young at the time. I still had to drag my backside outta bed every day and be a mum. Their cuddles smiles and laughter got me through.
Glad to hear yours are being so sweet and lovely 😊

GinandGingerBeer · 03/06/2019 08:50

Oh yea, thanks for the new thread cherries, hope all is well with you Smile

NotAnActualSheep · 03/06/2019 08:53

Thanks cherries! Just marking my place... Fell asleep on the sofa last night (whoops) or I'd have started a new one!

So sorry to hear that justi. SadFlowers. Its all crap, isn't it...but your DD sounds lovely - what a nice thing to do! Yy to making sure all our loved ones know they are loved and cherished. The only time DS writes anything to me it's to ask for something... usually a chippy (or a "chipy" - really need to work on his double consonants).

Hope the medication is working miffy and you managed some sleep from your horrible ear. And gin - fingers crossed the hormones let you get a sensible amount of sleep too!

I'm off to get my ears hosed out. Yay to being able to hear across the entire auditory spectrum...

FuzzyPuffling · 03/06/2019 09:08

(I have a hospital appointment this morning.)

Hello Hushies!!!

dontcallmelen · 03/06/2019 09:37

cherries thanks for the thread.
Just so sorry for your loss, sincere condolences💐

Laska2Meryls · 03/06/2019 10:05

Thanks for the new Thread cherries
Oh justlou so sorry to hear about your cousin also..
{flowers} and to all Hushistas dealing with sad life things right now.

*never@ you asked about chub rub. I am fortunate in thta part of my body ( unlike the rest!!) in that I do have a thigh gap , despite my non exercise and recent best efforts to continue my weight gain and so have never suffered , but I did see in the back of the sainsburys mag the big bloomer comany anti chafing shorts. I just had a look and they come from size 8 so despite the name are not all big!! Might be worth a look ?

Laska2Meryls · 03/06/2019 10:08

Not i think you will be pleased with the Jigsaw crops when they arrive, I have already worn mine! and they are great .
expecting M&S stuff (which will be going back now except the tops ) and my Belle Lingerie bikinis today..
...... & maybe my Jigsaw kaftan dress also

ilovecherries · 03/06/2019 10:10

Sorry, a bit absent, got an offer of an urgent quick n dirty piece of work on Thursday which will pay for a nice summer holiday so I’ve been head down bum up all weekend. never, you need shirts from either chaffree or the big bloomer company. Life changers! So comfy, light and do some remarkable sweat diverting thing.

OP posts:
ilovecherries · 03/06/2019 10:11

Shorts. Not shirts. That would be a bit bulky and desperate.

OP posts:
dontcallmelen · 03/06/2019 10:18

😂 maybe put the shirt sleeves down your knickers.
My OS dress is due today, but if not perfect going straight back😇
Fuzzy hope appointment goes well.
Gin I’m absolutely no expert, but maybe if seeing no improvement shortly then the dose might need adjusting.

justilou1 · 03/06/2019 10:29

@never, I haven’t used these, but before I lost all my weight I was looking into purchasing some. It’s awful, isn’t it? (I still get it a bit, btw, and I’m quite petite now... it’s just the shape of my legs and it always has been, I suspect!) No thigh gap for me!!!

GinandGingerBeer · 03/06/2019 10:51

Yes, I need to do a bit of research myself too re the hrt combo I'm on (which the GP actively encourages me to do which I like) and I'm usually one all about being informed, but I've had a long battle on my hands getting a medical device on prescription which has taken over. I actually have it now, I won my battle!
I also have a bloody car parking company perusing me all the way to court and they're such arseholes, dregs of society...... The 'appeal service' is owned by the car parking company for example, that's just one of the many ways they try and con you into paying, it's all a scam...... but I won't pay..... I was legally parked...... Gin will have her day in court!
There's always something ........HRT research is next on my hit list......

justilou1 · 03/06/2019 11:01

OMG! How stressful, @Gin! Life is so bloody complicated and now there are those vultures!!! I hope your day in court clips their wings!!!

dontcallmelen · 03/06/2019 11:23

Gin I feel for you, they are the dregs & trying to deal with them is nightmare inducing. I have an ongoing saga with parking fines someone has used my address with fake documents & is merrily parking illegally all over London, I have tried & tried to sort it out sent info contacted various company’s (which is harder than talking to MI5)
Had the bailiffs at the door a couple of weeks ago, it’s a bloody nightmare.

goodluckandgodspeed · 03/06/2019 11:23

Ok - do these look too small? They are river island and I usually have an 8 from there but these are tiny tiny. I also have an insulin pump that has to fit down inside the waist. I’m wearing it here - can you tell??

goodluckandgodspeed · 03/06/2019 11:25

Front view - also I’m really old to be wearing ripped jeans. 😂

goodluckandgodspeed · 03/06/2019 11:28

Also new shoes. I love these shoes

goodluckandgodspeed · 03/06/2019 11:33

And dress. Dress is big - it’s an 8 but huge compared to the tiny tiny tiny jeans.

Ninkaninus · 03/06/2019 11:35

just 💐 so sorry.

goodluck they look perfect to me. And you’re never ‘too old’ to wear something, as long as you feel comfortable in it and happy with how it looks. I can’t see the insulin pump.
