len they’ve not arrived yet. They are a little lower in the heel than I’d ideally have wanted (the jigsaw ones were perfect but just too snug in my size and none left in the next size up), but I love the sunshine yellow and I think they will look beautiful for a pop of colour with denim and black especially! I’ve got my fingers crossed that they’ll fit beautifully.

GinandGingerBeer · 03/06/2019 14:09

Nink same applies, although I've only had it 4 years, I have come a long way and I'm very interested in all the tech so i do a fair bit of research, belong to quite a few groups, DM the clinical director for diabetes on Twitter a fair bit too, he's fab! Grin
So if there's anything I can do to help, I will. 100% glad it's me and not one of my kids, and I completely understand where you're coming from Thanks
Do you followe her BG on an app atall? Pros and cons to that one I guess.
How come you don't have it on prescription yet @goodluckandgodspeed. DM if you prefer, but the criteria changed agin in April of this year. It infuriates me that we have such a battle when living with it is battle enough. Angry

GinandGingerBeer · 03/06/2019 14:10

@len I got some nice khaki ones from Oasis. Hang on will dig em out.
Few months ago now though.

dontcallmelen · 03/06/2019 14:20

Good yes I think they are the same ones, I ordered the six & refuse to order a size four, that’s just ridiculous my weight/size hasn’t changed in over thirty years & I have stuff in the wardrobe from years ago that are 8 & 10 & fit me.
Nink thanks I read your post wrong, thought you had them already.

GinandGingerBeer · 03/06/2019 14:20

Ooh @len getting them out made me realise they'll go really well with my kimono from 100 stars, teamed with a fuchsia vest top I bought from M&S last year (as recommended by @Laska iirc to go with the relaxed crop we all bought which I happen to be wearing!)
Pic isn't great they're nicer irl.

Ooh Nink they are lovely, will have a look on website later, I always forget about oasis Yy with fuchsia vest & kimono 👍🏼

twosoups1972 · 03/06/2019 14:36

Thank you @gin and @cherries for the dress pics, you both look great. gin it was me who is thinking of going to San Sebastian Grin

nink sorry about your dd and I totally get what you mean about wanting to make everything better for your dc. Don't feel bad about sharing on here, this is a lovely friendly thread and we can all support each other.

Well the £££ Daniel trainers have arrived and I'm a bit disappointed unfortunately. I thought when I had tried them in the shop that the flatform base was quite light, but it is dark grey and I'm not keen. For that money they need to be perfect! So I am now on the hunt for grey suede flatform trainers with a white base.

twosoups1972 · 03/06/2019 14:38

Feeling a bit clothes frustrated today, anyone else have days like that? When I was shopping this morning, I kept seeing really stylishly dressed women, why can't I look like that?? I did notice a bit of a theme - neutral colours and no prints. Bit boring though.

twosoups1972 · 03/06/2019 14:41

ninka that haul sounds great, can we see some pictures?

dontcallmelen · 03/06/2019 14:42

Soups I feel like that most days, also noticed a lot of brown about that was my school uniform colour, so definitely not revisiting that.

twosoups1972 · 03/06/2019 14:45

But on the positive side - dd1 had her A Level English exam this morning so I was obviously waiting around on tenterhooks. She finally phoned me just now and said the exam had gone well! Such a relief. She had a bit of a meltdown last night but it was all fine today and apart from being a bit tight for time, she thought she answered the questions well. Long slow wait for results now. If she gets an A in English and DDM for her BTEC she will secure her place at Birmingham. Then hopefully will have a relatively relaxing year at home taking the 2 other A Levels without pressure.

Ninkaninus · 03/06/2019 14:50

Yes sure will do it now!

It’s a little bit disparate I think but that’s because I’m really shopping now to fill holes in each of my separate styles (relaxed/smart/evening) so there’s no overall cohesion in the pieces iykwim.

Really lovely Nink the dress is sooo pretty.

miffy2 · 03/06/2019 15:33

Wow you guys move at lightning speed :) :)

I skimmed but can't remember all the replies and comments I wanted to make so I will blame it on 3 hours sleep and too many Px drugs. Hugs to all who need them, and kudos to those of you managing T1 as it can't be easy Flowers

HRT has saved me. I am coming up to 3 years on it, the first trial was a single hormone patch and I hated it as I got headaches every day. Now I take a single hormone pill (as I have a Mirena in) and my life is so much better. I no longer want to strangle everyone, all the time, I no longer have panic attacks/sweats/hormonal outbursts. The only downside for me is that the weight I had on is harder than ever to shift. But on balance I choose HRT.

I sit here in my pyjamas as I only slept from about 11am and have no energy to shower yet, but purchase-wise my May was busy enough.

From M&S I got those relaxed Ts I mentioned, plus the elusive Fran Bow shoes (a collaboration with an instagrammer and they are really pretty

www.instagram.com/p/ByHchpnhxfF/

I have collected the modal joggers from M&S but not tried on yet. I also got a fab fitted denim shirt from M&S that goes really well with my wide leg black hush trousers from a few years ago, and my pleated skirts.
2 dresses from H&M that I am still undecided about as I am not sure how much wear I would get from them. One is a palm print shirt dress (no longer on the site) and the other is this one:

www2.hm.com/en_ie/productpage.0733076004.html

Hush Sloppy joe in blue and wide striped jersey top, both of which are keepers, and the Nini dress on pre-order.

If I buy the kimono then that is it for now.

Laska2Meryls · 03/06/2019 15:41

Stuff has arrived! ( Only I am over the other side of the island right now...) Yellow espidrelles look nice ( but I have the mustard saltwaters coming.. )I just took back ecru to M &S but am keeping the yellow and khaki striped linen mix tops ..

Laska2Meryls · 03/06/2019 15:51

the Per Una tops are nice, not fussy as that range often is . The ecru and pink crop jeans were just far too heavyweight fabric for summer jeans I thought..

twosoups1972 · 03/06/2019 16:08

Actually going back to the Daniel trainers, the colour on the base looks totally different to the picture. Here they are on the website:

twosoups1972 · 03/06/2019 16:09

And here are mine

Hushistas drinking gin and planning their holidays
twosoups1972 · 03/06/2019 16:11

Even allowing for loss of photo quality, there is a huge difference in colour isn't there? On the website the base looks light grey, definitely lighter than the upper....

Ninkaninus · 03/06/2019 16:18

Sadly you simply can’t get an accurate idea of colour off internet photographs - it is impossible to ensure accurate representation. That’s why I no longer keep things if they’re not exactly what I’m looking for - I do most of my shopping online so I have to factor in the fact that probably 50% of the time it’s guesswork on colour and whether or not it’s just right until I’ve actually seen it for myself. And if it’s not just right I’m not going to keep it.

Sorry your perfect pair didn’t actually live up to expectations; it’s always such a disappointment when that happens.

dontcallmelen · 03/06/2019 16:39

Soups they do look a lot darker than the online picture, that’s always the problem with online shopping I find as well & yy if they are not perfect then definitely send back, too much money if you are not totally happy with them.
Gin I’m getting like just now mixing up posters, thanks for the pic of trousers.
This blinking dress better be worth it, the delivery was delayed & now today the courier has changed delivery three times, expected delivery time is now 8.30pm.

GinandGingerBeer · 03/06/2019 16:55

Ha ha. No worries len Smile
That's a great haul @nink. Stand out items for me are the white dress, suede jacket and yellow espadrilles, but it's all lovely. (That would make a nice outfit with some delicate yellow beads or a straw handbag with yellows in it...... I'm tempted Wink)
