@laska I really like the MV dress on you, you are too hard on yourself!

@melen nice dress but agree about the neckline. What’s the sizing like?

Good news from Daniel shoes - apparently the colour of the sole IS wrong. They were sent the wrong ones by the manufacturer. Going to exchange them and see what the colour is like. I really like them if not for the dark sole and haven’t seen anything similar.

twosoups1972 · 03/06/2019 22:15

RIP LK Bennett melen lovely shoes

twosoups1972 · 03/06/2019 22:23

I’ve tried this sale Jigsaw jacket but the M was too big and S is sold out

miffy the H&M dress is gorgeous! I always used to think I looked frumpy in long dresses but I’ve been drawn to them this year - you lot all look lovely in a long floaty dress.

Huffthepuff · 03/06/2019 22:27

@Laska2Meryls love that skirt on you with the green tee, great length and perfect for holiday or just summer wear generally. Love the kaftan and MV dress too 😍 I think the straps on the MV dress are very flattering. Gorgeous boho vibe. Great find Gin!

Fab jacket @NotAnActualSheep, really practical. Looks a bit big on the sleeves but only you can really judge size if it's feeling boxy. The chinos are a great fit! Love the sandals too

@dontcallmelen that dress looks so pretty on you. Maybe try with a couple of different bras and see if you still feel matronly in it but it looks fab. Especially with the gorgeous shoes. Does the top unbutton at all or is that a seam?

dontcallmelen · 03/06/2019 22:39

Soups yeahy good news with the trainers, sizing is a bit generous I got the size 34 which is a six & fits well.
Huff definitely need some new bras, I’m a small band & all boob so always always feel out of proportion, the front seam has hidden buttons so you can undo it, which I tried but didn’t make much difference to the ‘look’ not sure how easy it would be to alter the neckline, I think I’m a very strange shape😂

dontcallmelen · 03/06/2019 22:41

Not yy the chinos & vest, think the jacket is a little big but does look good on you.

Ellapaella · 03/06/2019 23:28

@NotAnActualSheep turn the chinos up a bit at the bottom and it'll transform the look I promise. They are a good fit on you but turning the up a bit will make them look less formal. I like the Boden jacket.

Ellapaella · 03/06/2019 23:28

Oh and @NotAnActualSheep the sandals are perfect 👌

Laska2Meryls · 04/06/2019 07:05

Thanks for the MV dress opinions, it is nice , just slipped it on again, but it's still on the think list for now.

Not yes I think those jigsaw chinos need to be a tad shorter on you , can you get them taken up ? ( it's worth it for what they cost ) I think the fabric may be a bit too stiff for rolling them, my ones are anyway . Yes size down in the jacket, I think..

len did you look at the stripe Emily an Fin dress? I think it would be fab on you !

Laska2Meryls · 04/06/2019 07:23

Twosoups trainer news sounds positive.. fingers crossed .....

twosoups1972 · 04/06/2019 08:18

@melen I’ve found recently Boux Avenue are good for small back size bras.

NotAnActualSheep · 04/06/2019 08:55

Good news on the trainers soups! Though you'd have thought for that price the manufacturers should have jolly well got it right! Love the jigsaw jacket too. Hopefully the Right size will come back into stock.

Thanks for the comments on the chinos/jacket etc! I'll give the chinos another go with the rolling as ella suggests, or try hoiking them up a bit to see if shortening would improve them! Yy, I think it may be that they just feel a bit formal. Annoyingly the size down in the jacket is out of stock, but I may have a chat with the nice folks at boden and see if they think it is likely to come back. As I used a voucher, I'd like to keep that discount so can't order a second while I've still got the first!! The navy version is growing on me too, so I may exchange for the smaller size in that colour...

Also, hopefully huffs maxi skirt is arriving today, and the matching top. I'm really hoping those are awful and need to go straight back cos my credit card could do with a rest, frankly.

Ninkaninus · 04/06/2019 09:34

Laska I like the dress!

soups I really wanted that jacket - saw it a few weeks ago but S was already sold out then and I knew M would be too big. Still smarts a little! It would have been perfect.

Ninkaninus · 04/06/2019 09:36

len I agree, dress would be perfect with a different neckline. Silhouette is gorgeous and the shoes are so pretty!

Ninkaninus · 04/06/2019 09:38

sheep am I mixing up names or was it you who up until a few weeks ago didn’t want to show toes to the world? If so, I’m very happy that you’re converted and feeling the sandal love this summer!

Ninkaninus · 04/06/2019 09:59

Oh good luck on shoes, soups - it’s like a footwear rollercoaster!

Laska2Meryls · 04/06/2019 10:19

Wearing Keira cullottes, new M&S khaki striped top with khaki vest under green wren ( ithink it works as much lighter than the cullottes, and trusty Chester trainers ( I swear these were the best Hush sale purchase ever) .. I'd have worn the new olive saltwaters but it was raining when I left for work..

dontcallmelen · 04/06/2019 10:23

Thanks everyone, I tried it on with a better bra & does look better but it’s going back as the neckline doesn’t look right on me, very sad as it’s a beautifully made dress & the cotton really is lovely.
Laska thanks will have a look at the link later, just off to DD’s now.
Soups so annoying when oos, I have a very similar one from monsoon, which I got last year might be worth having a look.
Have a good day everyone, will catch up later.😍

Ninkaninus · 04/06/2019 10:27

Could you have it altered by a seamstress?

NotAnActualSheep · 04/06/2019 10:29

Haha! Yes nink - that was me Blush. You lot made me have an "oh, feck it" moment, and realise that you can hide a multitude of sins with a bit of heavy duty moisturiser and some nail polish. And I reckon it will be better for my feet overall to see a bit of sunshine (when it arrives) rather than festering in closed shoes. So there. If I get thrown out of anywhere for my yukky feet I'll have a rethink.

That sounds lovely laska. I have some khaki wide crop trousers not dissimilar to the keira ones so I might try those with the green wren (glad I kept both, BTW... They are both being used!).

NotAnActualSheep · 04/06/2019 10:36

Oh no len - it is lovely, but if it would annoy you then fair enough! No point keeping stuff that isn't quite right. Though if you are having difficulty finding a dress you do love I'd agree that you could see if a seamstress could do something, as it seems pretty much perfect apart from that. I know nothing about sewing, but as it seems to fit nicely on the shoulders, it should just be a case of removing some of the fabric and re-hemming ( if you can hem a neck?! - see, told you I know nothing).

twosoups1972 · 04/06/2019 10:38

@sheep I bet your feet are fine and all feet look nice with nail polish.

@ninka I’m going to keep an eye out for a S in the Jigsaw jacket, will let you know if I see it. It’s so nice but comes up huge. I tried the Matalan one (similar) that someone (melen I think) linked to but it was a bit too busy for me.

Ninkaninus · 04/06/2019 10:40

sheep I wasn’t joking when I said my feet aren’t pretty. I mean I can make them look pleasant enough with moisturiser and a pedicure, but my toes are squashed up, I have the faint beginnings of a bunion and my feet are really wide. I give no fucks. I wear beautiful shoes and just remember that I don’t owe prettiness to anyone! Like the famous quote says, being pretty is not some kind of rent one has to pay for occupying the space called female.

NotAnActualSheep · 04/06/2019 12:30

Yes, yes, but my feet are so much worse than everyone else's! Grin I would win prizes for the mankiness of my feet. They are impressively bad. Though that is a good thought to bear in mind Nink Re not owing prettiness to anyone! True, of course. We are all so critical of ourselves, with hiding bits we think others will disapprove of (well, I am), whereas really our bodies are pretty darn amazing with what they can do/ have done...and I know I don't go round judging people for wearing things they "shouldn't", so not sure why I think anyone will do the same to me! My internal critic needs to chill a bit, I think...

Annoyingly, huffs skirt is blooming Fab. Grrrrrr. Really swooshy and a lovely fabric. And lined, which I wasn't expecting. And it's lovely with the matching top, to make a "dress" with different sized top and bottom. Amazing for pear-y me. (The top is reaaaaaalllly big. This is a 10 and it's still loose even at the bottom.) The Monaco trousers are nice too, but they aren't really "wardrobe gap fillers" as they aren't a totally different look to the cropped easy trousers I got free Shock earlier in the year. Much better quality/ more substantial fabric though, and I do like the cuffs on the bottom. Also, they would make good pirate trousers, though not sure I can justify them on those grounds alone...Grin If they were available in the blue I may think again.
