I’ll try it on with a few things over the next two days as my initial instinct when I chose it was probably right.
I knew if I went for a very bright one I wouldn’t wear it. You can see the Gudrun is stunning but hardly a very summery bright print
I’m often seduced by bright colours when in RL I go into my comfort zone so it’ll be good to wear something different and it has boob minimising properties on my G cup which is an unexpected bonus

Yes I have an old kimono (it is very auld going back 25 years now) which came from Japan so the real McCoy and has been my summer dressing gown the last few decades lets just say it’s seen better days and needs to go to the recycling bin so the new one is perfect and will be light to pack with my frequent travel (bonus!)

I’m trying to keep up with who has what/ordered, they are all beautiful.
Soy agree with never the middle one as a dressing gown they are all beautiful though, I now have serious kimono envy🤢 but am going to have a think about what colour/design I would get most wear out off.
I got this today navy off the shoulder top from M&S as it will go under lots of jackets & I thought look good with some wide leg tailored white linen trousers I have & have never worn.
Not a great picture, but is lovely n soft & seams at the front so makes it fit nicely £22.00

I like the first two best too @SoyYo. The Gudrun one is beautiful but.. that colour blue although lovely will be hard to pair with other clothes.. not sure it would work very well with black for example.
The first two are lovely - the first one (imo) will be more versatile and go with so many things, the second longer one is really nice and I am emoted to get one myself to use as a dressing gown/summer lounge wear.

Thank you, yeahy slightly off the bench😂 I paid the last of my CC bill today🍾🍾 but am determined to be sensible now, had a further cull of wardrobe/drawers today & will not be buying random stuff, only things that will plug a gap/or go with what I have, I’m even writing lists so I don’t get distracted!!

Kimonos. Wow - everyone looks fab! Mine came too (same as soy's short one) and i love it too - predictably. So wafty. I'll post photos in a sec (on phone). I'm debating whether I need a long one too now, having seen cherries and soy... (I'm tempted by nink's moorish one - thats lovely). The scarves are beautiful too - really big and in nice summery colours. The only uncertainty is a sort of cotton enbroidered "bolero" - that was only £12 - but Im not sure its great.. it doesn't hang as nicely as the other kimono. I'll post a photo and see what you think.

soy - I think you've probably decided now, but I love them all. The Gudrun one is stunning, and the colours really suit you - but I agree, if its twice the cost of the others, and doesn't really do the job of either of the others (either easy throw-on, or dressing gown) it probably won't earn its keep. I do think the colours of the botanical one suit you too, and yy - it may be easier to coordinate than a brighter colour would be. Plus, as never and nink say, getting out of comfort zone and all that... (Sorry your work's turned manic again!)

soups - Gorgeous, gorgeous bag. It looks so useful, and is a really good length on you. Grrrrr. I was hoping I wouldn't be taken with it as I could do without spending more for now - but I am really tempted. And my current cross-body has seen better days...

laska - Yay - glad you've made a decision on the wrens! Im sure you will love them both...and you seem to be the exception to the "you'll only wear one colour" rule - as yes, you did wear both Meryls a lot! Hope you're feeling a bit better today.

ellanotafella - (sorry, I'm not being formal using your full name, but I'll get confused with the other ella otherwise!!) I haven't tried any of those things - but I have to say I really like the look of the jet top and tropical v neck. I think a few people have tried the Laredo and thought it a bit overpriced for an OK top. Let us know how you get on if you try them!

Kimono, bolero thing and lovely scarf fabric. And new trainers . The bolero is odd...it has a neck tie, but the ties are reeeeeeealy long...past my knees. Tied up, it just looks a bit sack-like...but it can't be left loose or the ties look ridiculous. so in this photo I have sort of tied them behind...which seems to give it lapels!!

@len champagne! Can I just say that top is made for your figure? You lucky thing 😍 looks fab on you. I’m also so impressed with your discipline and I’m glad you sat all those months on the “no spend” bench because you make me think, really think, about my motivation and what my wardrobe needs.

@not Another win! Thank you for the lovely comments. Big yes to the scarfs and short kimono, beautiful! The bolero is not that bad, it looks good on you though nowhere near as wafty and I like the pattern (embroidery?) contrast at the bottom but if the non visible in the pic ties will annoy you then return. It’s not a great deal of dosh but if you won’t wear no point. Could you carefully cut off the ties and make it work?

@huff 😂😂 i know Gudrun prints are fab, it’s waiting to be packed and returned. Don’t want to tell DH because he’s the worst enabler and will also tell me to keep the lot...

Haha! We're all going to be wafting around our bits of the country with the same kimonos/ boleros!! Here it is with the ties undone. I could cut them off -but tbh, I think it works better with it tied back on me to give it some shape...it's rather big, and without the ties the collar bits would be a bit flappy, I think.

Also, the second scarf, showing the size!!

It all looks great @not. The bolero does look a bit big but it might fit your shape better as you wear it? You could cut the ties just to make them a bit shorter and not remove altogether? The scarf and other kimono are gorgeous.

Yes @not what I really like about the bolero is the colour combo of a neutral linen type colour with the orange. It’s really good.
The scarf is also lovely and huge! Could work as a beach pareo too or is it not wide enough?

Not I reckon unless you can figure out a solution with the neck tie then it will sit in the wardrobe, the scarf is beautiful.
Soy thank you, it’s been hard but has been a very useful exercise.
I have found it very difficult adjusting to my life as it is now, a much reduced income/giving up my career & not knowing what my place is in the world anymore, so I think I just spent/bought ‘stuff’ to try n make me feel better, it doesn’t work though (well maybe for a short while) then the guilt & worry sets in, but lesson learned & onwards n upwards.

Love both kimonos, especially the long one. I'd wear it out, to work even, no concerns. But then I work in the Arts so I can get away with quite a colourful work wardrobe.
The fabric is gorgeous, like silk or rayon (tho clearly not). The kimono is fine for wafting at home, too wide on the shoulders to wear out I think.
Will get a better full length pic of the green kimono tomorrow. The short one is very short at the back. I'm 5.6

Could send the short ones back. You have to pay for return postage but they are light as a feather. It's not worth it to send just the bolero back but if I sent the short one back too it makes sense... I love the fabric just not so keen on wafty things that don't cover my bum. Not sure. I've added them to the pile of things I'm not sure about (wren jacket I'm talking about you)

Thanks Never it's by far my favourite. Just love it. The patterns and fabric of them all have an appeal tho so may keep the lot. I do really want a £££ one from free people too tho 😂
