Oh noooo I’m trying so hard to avoid spending and I’ve had kimonos on my mind as the last thing I ‘must’ have for summer.... the ones you’ve posted here are lovely!!

Hello Hush friends. Told you my work oasis calm wouldn’t last, it’s been non stop TC’s since 8am/more to come soon so no kimono news here (yet) but the photos on @never and @cherries ones are Fab Fab.
Love them on you and excited to see mine now 😍
I did order the long hollicoks one that cherries shows too with a short one. You know me in for a penny in for a pound my idea is to use the long one as my summer dressing gown (I actually need a new one) but seeing it on cherries it may well be also for other occasions, though I’m a lot shorter and may be too long on me.
Anyway I’ll tell you when I actually receive.

Thanks for inviting me to stay, SoyYo, I think I’d enjoy it. But I’m trying hard not to spend much this year (overspent ridiculously last couple of years) so I’ll have to see if I can be strong and not get sucked into spending when I shouldn’t. One or two things a month is probably okay though...

Finally reporting back on the red Aurora London bag. It is lovely, gorgeous shade of red and quite roomy for that sort of style of bag.

Pictures here. I am 5’3” so you can get an idea of how it sits (strap is around the middle setting).

@huff no I didn’t get it personalised, it just seemed an extra expense. But for a gift it would be a nice idea.

I'd like to keep it, I'd been wanting a proper red bag for ages....but feel guilty as I've bought an expensive bag fairly recently (ended up keeping the Mulberry bought on BA as it was such a good price). I don't know.

I think it’s a gorgeous red. I’ve been looking for a small, crossbody bag in a good shade of red for aaages - half have my eye on the Gucci Soho Disco, but when I spend that kind of money it usually ends up being a Mulberry. I think it looks great and it suits what you’re wearing today which I always think is a good sign that it’ll slot in nicely and organically into your wardrobe.

Also pleeease May I request a photo of said Mulberry bag? I love a peek at bags in situ, it’s very different to seeing them on shopping sites!

Also...I went ahead and bought a kimono. I don’t know why I make a pretence of resisting...

But I feel I made a mindful purchase, for the following reasons:

a) I’ve been conscious of a kimono-shaped hole in my wardrobe for a while now

b) I needed something to wear for a party I’m going to in the summer

c) it’ll fit whatever size I am at point of said party

d) it fits into the perimeters I’ve set for my capsule wardrobe which I’m broadly sticking to atm (I had a specific event in mind for it, burgundy is one of my main colours, it can be dressed up or dressed down so it fulfils two purposes)

That’s my one and only purchase for this month until payday. Thanks for your help, ladies, and for the code!

@twosoups1972 it's absolutely gorgeous, and agree that it seems to suit your wardrobe already. Don't feel guilty when it's a snip compared to the Gucci version 😉

It was a close call between the two as green is one of my favourite colours, but it was the navy around the neckline that tipped the scales for me - better colour for me than the purple (or pink?’) on the other one. May we both be pleased with our respective purchases!

Oh, that was a bit sneaky of them! I deleted that mail - any idea how long the discount is for? Meanwhile, ordered the navy stripe marina which I’ve been waiting for a discount to buy, and the Marissa top for a look - didn’t suit me last year but lack of norkage may improve the hang of it.
