Zara is killing it this SS!

I could have spent £1000 in Zara yesterday - I didn't, very restrained but everything was gorgeous and I never usually say that about Zara - can be very hit and miss. I'm worried I'm chanelling my old 20 something me as it's all cami bias cut slip dresses and Ghost style dresses and lovely baggy chambray trousers which remind me of Dash. And if I had a wedding to go to, which I don't, there are beautiful halterneck chiffon voluminous maxi dresses in vivid colours. Anyone else loving it?

Just spent ages on their website looking at dresses. Far better than hush for dresses in natural fabrics with pockets but the colours aren't brilliant for me this year, although I'll probably order Nancy's broderie dress and possibly this.

CountFosco · 05/05/2019 19:18

Last year there was what seemed like thread after thread going on about that Next linen shift dress and I kept seeing people wearing it in Sainsbury's and thinking 'why do people love that so much?'

pollymere · 05/05/2019 19:25

I'm loving Fatface this season. Amazing dresses and lovely cardis. They have hidden stretchy bits so they fit around the bust.

Taranta love those zebra sandals. I was eying them up but wasn’t sure how comfy they would be.

I also want these skirt, love the colour

I do think that Zara staff have strict instructions not to smile at any customers EVER... and to always look/sound snippy and as a rule - to NEVER be helpful. I like some of their clothes thoughGrin

fancynancyclancy · 05/05/2019 19:33

Didn’t spot that blue flowered dress CountFosco. I like it!

The only thing I own from Next is a planter, which was a gift. I’ve never ever bought anything from there & never go in there. Just not my style at all.

Liketoshop · 05/05/2019 19:50

Zara has some occasional nice bits but I bought some sweaters in there last autumn and they haven't fared well - just very poor quality once washed. Cheap tat on expensive price tag😕

MiaCulper · 05/05/2019 20:38

I like Zara. Our local one is clean and tidy and nicely laid out and the staff are very pleasant, but I never find anything for me. Both DD (17) and DM (76) seem to buy something every time we go in though. Hmm

mrsrhodgilbert · 05/05/2019 21:04

I find the stores infuriating. If you do manage to find something worth buying the queues are endless, snaking around the shop. The staff don’t seem concerned and rarely bother to open extra tills. They treat customers with contempt.

Sb74 · 05/05/2019 21:09

I agree this sounds like one big advert. How do we know we can believe op? The language used to describe the clothes sounds straight out of a catalogue. I can very much imagine this being part of a Zara marketing campaign. Good cover up with the NHS worker.

Taranta · 05/05/2019 21:10

fancynancy the zebra sandals are so great I’m going to invest in a second pair! Really comfortable. Wish they did the same style in a different colour.
Actually thinking about it, my other go-to store AndOtherStories has some similar in silver...

Sb74 · 05/05/2019 21:10

I’m not sure Fancy isn’t part of it too.

fancynancyclancy · 05/05/2019 21:11

Thanks maybe I will purchase them then although I just bought some white sandals so will have to wait.

Sb74 · 05/05/2019 21:11

.,,maybe there’s a bunch on here at it! A bit strange.

Sb74 · 05/05/2019 21:12

Mmmmm no vicious attacks back.... definitely suspicious.

Sb74 · 05/05/2019 21:14

So far for me in on the campaign is Taranta, Fancy and op.

fancynancyclancy · 05/05/2019 21:18

Yawn, line of duty is on so priorities. Besides your probably as boring to look at as your posts are to read.

Gruzinkerbell1 · 05/05/2019 21:19

This thread! Hmm It’s a blatant ad. Maybe they were hoping it would be picked up by the media as a nice bit of free marketing in the press.

“Mumsnet poster thinks Zara is amazing...but what do you think” Grin

Sb74 · 05/05/2019 21:24

... I think you’ve hit the nail on the head there, Gruzinckerbell! Fancy’s not part of the editing team though with “your”. Good cover up though. Just the right amount of nastiness. Your manager will be proud. I probably am a bit boring reading this thread.

Sb74 · 05/05/2019 21:25
  • sorry for extra “c” in your name!,
Taranta · 05/05/2019 21:38

Sb74 I’m not but maybe I should be thinking of a career change if I’m that convincing

JMAngel1 · 05/05/2019 21:39

Mumadeeze I've found my people!

This thread is nuts - can’t people discuss a shop without being accused of shilling? The Hush threads are a PR dream, but I would lay money that there is no brand spend behind them, and there are constant threads about Boden items. People like shops and talking about clothes!

FWIW, I am not generally a Zara fan, but do have a few bits. I am looking forward to getting the leopard print midi skirt from a few years ago out if it ever warms up.

fancynancyclancy · 05/05/2019 21:50

I think the people shouting ad are Boden or Hush marketeers who are scared another high street brand has dared to appear on the S&B boards.

I bloody wish I was a Zara influencer! 🤣🤣

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 05/05/2019 22:07

fancy I absolutely believe shilling goes on on these boards, but my understanding is that Zara doesn’t work with influencers at all, which is why they don’t pop up as often on Instagram.
