Zara is killing it this SS!

I could have spent £1000 in Zara yesterday - I didn't, very restrained but everything was gorgeous and I never usually say that about Zara - can be very hit and miss. I'm worried I'm chanelling my old 20 something me as it's all cami bias cut slip dresses and Ghost style dresses and lovely baggy chambray trousers which remind me of Dash. And if I had a wedding to go to, which I don't, there are beautiful halterneck chiffon voluminous maxi dresses in vivid colours. Anyone else loving it?

LaMarschallin

The craic and The Siege of Ennis are highlights!

EdWinchester · 04/05/2019 19:16

I quite like Zara but find everything is quite cheap looking (I know it is cheap, but it really looks it) and the quality is reliably poor.

LaMarschallin · 04/05/2019 19:17

Huh! Now you're just taunting me with your amazing Irish weddings.... .

Well, we do really good funerals in Wales!

Um... yeah. That sounded better in my head Smile

jellyfish70 · 04/05/2019 19:24

The Crac is just the laugh and the drink! The Siege of Ennis is a group dance. All the better for a few drinks and depending who's in your family, you may or may not end up injured!

I know. I may not have exciting Irish weddings to go to but at least I have Google

Eustasiavye · 04/05/2019 20:20

I find Zara hit and miss.
Not keen on what the op has posted.
The pink trousers are ok but my problem with them is they are only ok in good warm weather and id rather have my legs out getting the sun on them if it's hot.

Gwenhwyfar · 04/05/2019 20:43

"I hope all of you who buy new clothes continually without any real need"

Define 'need'. My white summer dress that I've had for at least a decade, maybe even two, has yellow straps. Yes, I could still wear it, but I think people will think I never wash the dress. I do think I need a new one.
Some of my clothes have holes in them, fine for casual, not for work. Shoes fall to pieces after a while. Some clothes don't fit me any more.
Not everything I wore when I was young, make sense at my age now.
So, yes, I need new clothes.

LaCerbiatta · 04/05/2019 21:41

I also went into Zara today inspired by this thread. I'm on a no spend at the moment so didn't buy anything but there was so much I would have tried on! And the bright pink and orange tops and dresses by the entrance were stunning! Not my thing but stunning none the less!

MinesaPinot · 04/05/2019 22:52

I was in there today and bought this www.zara.com/uk/en/polka-dot-dress-with-belt-p01971077.html?v1=12588357&v2=1180427 which will be great for work, and also a white top with a deep frill (can't find it on the website).

I've also recently bought another summer dress and some lovely mock crock flat sandals.

In short I love Zara, but their website drives me to distraction, so I only buy when I can get to a store.

TapasForTwo · 04/05/2019 23:05

I like that dress as well.

I agree with you about their website. I started looking at it on the back of this discussion, but gave it up. It is irritating beyond belief.

Eustasiavye · 05/05/2019 07:23

The polka dot dress is lovely. Just wish it had sleeves.

HisBetterHalf · 05/05/2019 09:08

They have some stunning items this season

Mummadeeze · 05/05/2019 17:28

Funny you should start this thread. Zara is like crack to me at the moment. I spent over £200 there last weekend (and I hardly ever spend money on clothes) and then I took back some trousers and ended up buying three more things. I seriously want everything in there. It is really weird. It is like someone went in my head and designed everything I would ever want in my wardrobe. In a nutshell, I agree!!!

Taranta · 05/05/2019 17:31

I’m loving Zara at moment. I find the app is way better than the website too. I’ve just bought these slouchy darted jeans in khaki - trying to wean myself the skinny jean monopoly in my wardrobe. I really wanted this grey colour but they keep selling out by the time I read my email notification that they’re back in stock, frustratingly.
Also bought these zebra print sandals and they’re awesome.

Do you work for Zara?

Taranta · 05/05/2019 17:52

Do you mean me MissMoan ? Well no I don’t, I’m just sharing my finds Hmm

CornishGinger · 05/05/2019 17:54

This is some kind of weird advertising.

Every item of clothing posted looks awful, I would not be seen dead in any of them.

Greyponcho · 05/05/2019 17:55

This thread prompted me to check their maternity range - eurgh! Full of bland, shapeless grandad nightshirt ‘dresses’, the occasional garishbright item worn by models with no bra (no bra in pregnancy? Hmm ) but plenty of pretty (and impractical) hair clips.
Really can’t see what’s so ‘inspiring’ with their range.

Mummyoflittledragon · 05/05/2019 17:57

Your dress reminds me of the sort of thing dhs aunt wears over her clothes. She’s French, in her 80’s and were more popular perhaps up to the 1980’s. The skirts is more a line, the dress a little less fitted, usually floral and made out of polyester. Basically the French equivalent of the Nora batty dress.

I'm a 5'7" size 14/16 with a GG chest and I practically live in Zara clothes, I think they look great on and they don't break the bank for me. My DD wears a lot of their kids range too as I love the earthy tones and chunkier knit leggings.

MissMoan · 05/05/2019 18:21

No Taranta, I meant the OP, because if she doesn't she should! She'd make a great asset to their marketing. (And will get lots of discount)

Vivianebrezilletbrooks · 05/05/2019 18:53

No, everytime I've been in there I've found the whole place bores me and the fashion I've just yawned at. It's all just so frumpy and probably aimed at someone my age but I'd much rather dress half my age than look like a frump. Next is another shop I find terribly boring as well.

JustCallMeSliths · 05/05/2019 18:54

Zara just doesn't fit me. Never has. I find their clothes a bit unpredictable. They sometimes have something lovely but it's often surrounded by dreadful cheap looking stuff. I don't bother even going in anymore.

JustCallMeSliths · 05/05/2019 18:54

Nothing on this thread is inspiring me to rush back in thete.

JustCallMeSliths · 05/05/2019 18:57

@Vivianebrezilletbrooks Next is very safe isn't it? I'm hardly fashion forward but even I go in and yawn. If you want a sensible work suit or a practical jumper it's your place.
