I think it's unfair that the law on primogeniture was changed for the Windsors pre George's birth but other aristocratic families were not allowed to follow suit. Apparently some first born daughters are fighting it.

Yes, it is ridiculously unfair, especially where there are only daughters. My MiL is an elder daughter, I wonder if she has resented it ?

A bit of fashion for this afternoon.
Letizia in a rather sexy tobacco suede skirt and what looks like thigh high pull on boots.
Shame about the white / nude bra reflecting the flash.

Always black top, black bra as you never know when a camera flash will go off!

Like the skirt but I'm not sure on teaming it with what I think are thigh high boots and yes black bra with black is must!

Those boots are insanely long - they look like they come up to her waist! And Letizia isn't a short woman either. She just looks like she is because Felipe is a giant!

Wouldn't a tv series ( called possibly Victoria , Queen Mother of Europe) be brilliant. Each episode follows the life of one of Victoria's offspring.

Anyone remembers the Documentary about King Christian Of Denmark father Inlaw of Europe? It was brilliant!

There was a 70s drama series called something like Fall of Eagles which covered various imperial/royal families in the lead-up to WWI. I've not watched it but I think all the episodes are on YouTube.

There is also a 1970s miniseries on Edward VII starring Timothy West that is quite good. Annette Crosbie plays Queen Victoria.

Wax is descended from William of Orange who was the William and Mary Monarch.
The Grimaldis are just Italian Pirates. ( or something unsavory)

Just watching the Christian of Denmark documentary.
Queen Margarethe has the most incredible English accent.
Prince Joachim’s is pretty good too; but CP Fred definitely sounds forrin!

Oh yes, Margarethe's cut glass tones are incredible! In contrast, CPM now sounds more Danish. Even by her engagement interview her accent had taken on a more Scandi lilt. Naturally, the less generous bloggers claimed she was putting it on...
