OMG, the FIFTH WWW 10yy Boot Camp of 2007, all welcome

WideWebWitch · 25/06/2007 08:45

This is week ONE of the fifth boot camp of 2007 everyone is welcome.

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

I will post everyone's stakes as posted on the last thread later. Have a day off to spend in bed and at cinema with dh, who is out dropping off both children

Batters, how lovely about your friend and the compliment! Tigermoth, welcome.

Right, well, I think I may try a booze free month, I feel I need it. Had a lovely day yesterday but too much food and wine.

www, enjoy your day off

This is a new week and time to take stock as I've reached a plateau with regards to the weight loss in the last couple of weeks. I have lost 2 or 3 (depending on label) dress sizes since January and although I've not regained any of that weight I need to start shifting the rest.

I finally took decent photo's of myself yesterday and in fact suddenly I look so much better again. I am feeling much more grounded again too (for the moment).

Good luck everyone

Marina · 25/06/2007 09:26

After a real full on Bridezilla experience this weekend I am in the mood for flippers, quinoa, existing on plankton, whatever it takes auguguguguguh
Glad you had such a lovely dinner batters and that dd's party went well too MI
Am filled with at www's plans for the day, it's radically difference from mine, boo hoo
We had a great sleepover and aside from a few scraps over whether a shiny Empress of Racnoss is worth Toby Possessed, The Beast without His Mind and Matron Casp (we had four to tea and two came with incredibly tidy portfolios of cards to trade ) a good time was had. Even by dd, who relished following them round the house "BOYS! Wash your hands now! You must eat your pizzas".
Oh, but I'm tired. Diet over weekend was NOT good and I don't think inflating lilos, waving arms and shrieking are as calorie busting as eating sensibly and taking exercise!

I have just barked with laughter at your dd's put-down mrbatters! That was devastatingly, shamelessly rude! Respect

glitterfairy · 25/06/2007 10:35

Wow Batters how old is she and does she give lessons? Brilliant!

Have a smug emoticon on today as I too am working harder. Have been swimming for 40 minutes and worked hard (am waiting for my flippers MI) and now am drinking a fresh green juice for breakfast with spinach and green things. Just going to get changed and blitz into a two mile run in the pouring rain and then will get to work.

I am determined to have lost another two stone before my holiday in August and I will do it! Back to basics for me.

Cappuccino · 25/06/2007 10:37

hello I am still around

I have not touched a drop of alcohol for four weeks

my entire body chemistry has changed

also am very moisturised and full of healthy stuff

am pig bloody sick of it tbh

I have lost weight but it will all go back on once I fall off the sugar wagon

prufrock · 25/06/2007 10:37

Oh batters where doesyour dd get it from . Maybe you just need to teach her to have the thoughts, but not necessarily say them out loud.

I am invigorated anew as well. Lat week wasn't bad - it just wasn't brilliant either, and I lost only 3/4 of a pound. And I have only 3 weeks and 6 days until I am on a Carribbean beach.

My stake - I will look good in a bikini and fit into last years holiday wardrobe.

glitterfairy · 25/06/2007 10:39

Capps I wondered how you were. Has it worked though?

Cappuccino · 25/06/2007 11:03

glitter it seems to be doing so

I have had some swabs (tmi sorry) and will find out Thursday if thrush is finally gone but it feels to be

I might carry on with most of it till I go on holiday at the end of July - might start eating a bit of fruit maybe and having coffee

amazingly after a month I actually miss coffee and fruit more than wine or chocolate

how did you do?

WideWebWitch · 25/06/2007 11:19

pmsl at your dd batters, fantastic!
Capp, well DONE on no booze, I was wondering how you are last night, glad you're back
Winnie, I am going UP weightwise, I feel sure, so with you on the shifting from the plateau front, we will move on
Marina, what cards are they? Don't recognise them as Yu gi oh, are they Pokemon? We'll have you looking FAB before that wedding, mark my words!
GF, well done on running etc
Prufrock, beach is indeed v motivating, is it the lovely one you linked to before? Show us again, go on!

Today won't be great boot camp wise since we are going out to lunch at noon and then will go back to bed this pm, really looking forward to afternoon snooze as we were up until 1am last night and I can't do it, am knackered today. But hey, can't complain

Marina · 25/06/2007 11:29

Ds was born (or rather yanked through a large incision in my abdomen) EIGHT years ago right now. Have booked him in on a MissBatters "How to win friends and influence people" charm workshop as a surprise gift

cerys · 25/06/2007 11:41

hi everyone! I didn't post at all last week.Oops.

Happy birthday to your DS, Marina. My DDs were 7 and 5 last week so if anyone fancies popping in to cerys' House of Cake, they are more than welcome. I sent DH into work with strict instructions to leave slices of cake (Dora the Explorer and High School Musical!) in the tea room.

I have not done too badly on the eating front and have exercised quite regularly, but don't feel like I have lost any weight.

I ran a 10K race yesterday (finished nearly 30 mins after DH though ) but then undid the good work by eating Vietnamese takeaway and drinking beer in the evening.

Winnie, glad you are re-motivated.
MrBatters, PMSL at your DD - how old is she?
WWW - enjoy your day
Moo - I put on 10lbs in 10 days in France last year, so I feel your pain.

winnie · 25/06/2007 12:02

cerys, wow to the running
(I am not built to run lol but I do dream of it. As a teenager I ran and I loved it.)

Batters, how I chuckled at your dd's put down. Where has she picked it up ?

Glitter, two stone by August Do you intend to eat? (I am aiming to lose another stone by the 1st August and am in awe of your determination )

I think the best thing I can do is up my exercise levels too.
