Argh I clearly didn’t read too excited by the link

Oh no! Oh man I hope she changes her mind, I have a ds like that with clothes

maradesbois · 09/01/2019 08:48

Hi Everyone. Yes, definitely an age thing I think, male mid life crisis, who knows. Love dd’s coat, you’ll have to convince her of how amazing it is. Ds is getting funny about clothes too, I wanted him to have Chelsea boots for smart but a kid at school said they were for girls Confused so he refused point blank. We settled on desert boots!

I won’t get the skirt, at least not now. Trying to save and also putting money into my skin in January, booked a course of glycolic peels.

maradesbois · 09/01/2019 08:51

Lib am trying to cut out the takeaway coffees too. Crazy how weekday lunch/coffee spends add up. I’ve started having porridge for breakfast during the week using unsweetened almond milk and it has completely cut out my craving for latte/cappuccino. Also have an espresso machine on my desk at work Grin

Ambernectarine · 09/01/2019 11:13

Hello all

Sorry to hear some of you had a tough 2018.

Mine was dominated by work, but a lot of fun in there too. Probably too much as I am a right tubby bastard at the moment! Need to sort that out! Hopefully laying off the vino and making some sensible adjustments (ie. not troughing everything I lay my eyes on) will sort me out 😄

Dreamqueen · 09/01/2019 14:45

In the end I chickened out & only had a trim at the hairdresser.

Does anyone use estee lauder double wear or DW light? I"ve never tried it but keep seeing it mentioned on other threads so got a few samples in different shades to try.

My best buys of 2018 were

All Saints leather jacket

Osprey bag

I've got no ther items that stand out in my memory. My 2019 resolution is to make less impulse purchases that are Ok but not exactly what I want.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 09/01/2019 14:52

dream i use DW light, the original is too heavy for my skin bu tthe light is just right, good coverage without feeling heavy and mask like and if i blend it properly, it barely looks like i've got anything on, just nice skin. I don't wear it every day though, just the days i've got spots and need the extra coverage. I use the lightest shade as i'm super pale but they do have a decent shade range so you should be able to find soemthing that works for you Smile

Dreamqueen · 09/01/2019 15:31

Thanks for info One. She gave me samples of the original DW so will try that first to see if the colour is right for me.

Everyonelovessparkles · 09/01/2019 15:46

dream I use DW nude. I really like it. It gives good coverage but is still quite light but you can build it up. I did have DW and think this is good if you want a fully made up look (eg big event, night out etc) rather than every day.

mara and marsha I hope she will come round to the coat. I think once she wears it and it’s admired by her friends, I think she will be fine. Just seen though that wild and gorgeous has gone into administration. I did like there stuff for DD but only purchased in the sale as it was pretty £££ for what it was.

Everyonelovessparkles · 09/01/2019 15:48

Meant to say as well, will be interested to hear about the peels mara. My skin isn’t looking great at the moment (too much indulgence throughout December). I had been using the balance me vit c serum, which after a couple of weeks I think we having a positive effect. It’s since finished and I’ve just bought something from Vichy but I’m not loving it so far, but it’s still early days....

MarshaBradyo · 09/01/2019 16:04

Oh I didn’t realise that about W&G it must be hard to keep a children’s clothing brand going there are so many very pretty or cute brands. And it is ££

Lib I meant to say your in office routine sounds great. I saw something the other day where someone had a treadmill in their office which they used during meetings. I thought good idea

Queenchanel · 09/01/2019 17:03

Hi all, I’m totally in love with my jigsaw jumpers although I’m too scared to wash them in case I ruin them! I never used to wear jumpers but I feel too cold in a blouse around the house.

Queenchanel · 09/01/2019 17:06

Pressed post too soon.

My skin looks better when I take off my make up at night and use my oil. I’m currently using sanctuary products and I wake up looking ok if I do it. My skin feels really dehydrated at the moment which is unusual. Ive had dry flakiness but it just feels a bit dull and flat if that makes sense??

Actually did an exercise class this morning and will be good to get back into a routine once I start my new job. mara I love the shred but can’t do it at the moment with my shoulder.

Has anyone made any 2019 purchases yet?

Dreamqueen · 09/01/2019 17:32

Everyone I'll go back and ask for a sample of the DW nude once I sort out the correct shade. Thanks for the info.

DryWhiteagainW · 09/01/2019 22:27

Evening all.....went for some Botox again this afternoon after a 8month break. Frowning was getting out of hand, said to the beautician “just go for it”......had left it for a couple of reasons, not sure how much better it made me look and felt bad about the £££......but, sod it, I’ve got over that Grin

Mara expresse machine on your DESK? I’d be hyper...that’s so cool. I hate lattes, too milky for me.

I’ve started batch cooking again.....big veg soup to last me the week for lunches at work, make omelettes for breakfast the night before so I don’t grab rubbish (and I don’t mind cold omelette) am staying off cheese and carbs. Boring.

MarshaBradyo · 10/01/2019 09:47

I have an omelette every morning too Dry

I love this Rixo, I know it’s not really me but can I buy it?
If not can someone else buy it, so nice

Queenchanel · 10/01/2019 12:07

I’ve never tried a cold omelette but I might like it. I’m also going to do a big batch cook next eeek before I go back to work. I’ll need to take lunches in with me as there’s no decent shop/cafe so need to get organised.

DryWhiteagainW · 10/01/2019 19:02

QueenC I add smoked salmon to mine...yum

DryWhiteagainW · 11/01/2019 07:38

I’ve killed it with my smoked salmon Grin

MarshaBradyo · 11/01/2019 08:15

Ha I do like smoked salmon, and probably buy too much ££

maradesbois · 11/01/2019 08:49

Not sure about cold omelette but hey I only discovered porridge last week so who knows where the breakfast adventures could lead!

Marsha I think you could do that top. I was tempted by it at the start of the sales but ended up going for this Ganni one instead which I love. Wearing it today in fact over a skinny black polo neck.

libertyonhertravels · 11/01/2019 09:06

.It was the cold omelette rather than the smoked salmon that killed it dry Grin

I love porridge Mara though my breakfast these days is berries and seeds with natural Greek yoghurt - seriously yum!!

Marsha your rixo link led me to a red version which was very tempting. So pretty. Your Ganni one is gorgeous too Mara.

MarshaBradyo · 11/01/2019 09:35

I really can’t do cold egg, lo if anyone interrupts me after I’ve cooked the omelette Shock

Dd has a choice of omelette or porridge, sometimes both, every morning, love it

Love the red one Lib

Mara that’s really nice, hmm maybe I could

libertyonhertravels · 11/01/2019 10:04

I really want the red one but it's £23 delivery to NZ Confused

FedupNagging · 11/01/2019 11:22

I’ve just had Christmas cake for breakfast Blush

I’ve kept the Next pleated skirt it & have worn it with the heather Uniqlo polo neck, black opaques and flatforms and was happy with the look. Ankle boots don’t work neither does anything tucked in (due to eating said cake for breakfast Grin ) Will wear with stans when the weather is warmer. Pleased to be trying a new look.

Apart from the skirt and this orange jumper (which I love so is my new favourite) I have returned absolutely everything. I know I’m fussy but still...

Queenchanel · 11/01/2019 13:41

mara love that blouse and love that you can manage to layer so well.
marsha that Rixo top is lovely. TRy it?

I bought some tracksuit trousers yesterday Grin. Also had a mooch around but it’s all the end of sales dregs. THeres some good bargains to be had on the whistles website but the blouse i like is still £55 and I don’t like it that much. I realised yesterday that actually I have enough clothes and it’s hard to imagine buying something new because i don’t need anything.

I ignored you all and bought a soup maker too as I realised that my hand blender no longer worked!
