MissElaineNeus · 06/01/2019 07:39

Hello, can I join?

Just went mad and splashed out on these Justin Deakin one cut flats in black so I'll be looking for some interesting and cheap trousers to show them off!

Also starting a mega diet tomorrow to fit back into my clothes again after a fairly tough 2018. So plenty of time to ponder clothes and inspire myself!

libertyonhertravels · 06/01/2019 08:40

MissElaine I flipping LOVE those - what colour did you get please say red

Longislandicetee · 06/01/2019 08:55

Hello and welcome MissElaine! Lib, that's so funny, I took one look at MissElaine's link and immediately thought of youGrin

We did the last of our Christmas things yesterday, took the kids to see The Nutcracker. It was their first full ballet - we have taken them to kiddies version before - and they loved it. It was lovely to see ds leaning forward in his seat absolutely enchanted. I was trussed up like the proverbial turkey - jeans, grey suede lowlands, red and white Me&Em breton top under navy and white breton cashmere sweater, cashmere bobble hat, cashmere scarf and cashmere gloves. I may have got a bit hot.Grin

MissElaineNeus · 06/01/2019 11:00

Sadly black - I've actually got his shoes in purple studded & monks in petrol blue with gold tips already! They go on for years. I really needed a standard black pair though.

His Jan sales are on at the moment - got 25% off.

Dreamqueen · 06/01/2019 12:41

Welcome to Eesha and MissElaine.

Sorry to read that so many had a crap time of it in 2018, hoping that this year is much improved.

Nice to see you back on here Topaz Sadly I can't do MU in March either, not sure about July but that week is usually our family holiday week. Nothing booked as yet so fingers crossed I might make it. It seems ages since I've been to a MU.

This morning I've cleared out a black bag for the charity shop and also went through the beauty product drawers. I have enough products to last for years!!! and thatsnot counting the advent haul from this Christmas.

Spurred on by a pictur of Shops lovely hair, I've made a hairdresser appointment for Tuesday and I'm not sure whether to just have a trim or do something more drastic. My hair is past shoulder blade length at the moment & whie I like being able to tie it up, the amount of time that blowdrying it takes puts me off daily exercise. So a question for those of you who have met me, "what would you suggest please?"

No spend January is going well, much better than January.Smile

Love that swimming cossie Dry

Justa you nearly tempted me with the yellow espadrilles then I realised I wouldn't be able to walk in 3 inch heels.

FedupNagging · 06/01/2019 13:02

Grin Dream my thoughts exactly plus ankle tie does not suit my short legs! Last time I saw you had a fabulous bob which really suited you. Let us know what you decide.

Waves to newbies.

I went sale shopping a few days ago but wasn't very successful - it was too busy & everything was in a jumble. I did chuck in a £10 black boxy polo neck in H&M with ds's haul which I''m wearing today with J Brand jeans and m&s flatforms - my kind of relaxed look.

Have also done a couple of online orders with Next and Boden for the shorter length trousers and jeans. Will link later. Also ordered a pleated skirt - several months after thinking it's a look I'd like to try I've finally done something about it!

Mara great Rixo skirt you linked; it's a good piece to take you through to spring.

FedupNagging · 06/01/2019 13:05

The skirt purchase is inspired by these looks. I have flatforms, ankle boots and stans

Shop, your hair looks gorgeous. I had mine cut short this summer and it was a dreadful mistake. Part of the problem is going to the local village hairdresser - not really up to a clever short cut I think but I don’t want to fall out with them or try someone else in case I have to come back. I used to work from home (currently fingers crossed for something new but have been unemployed, ahem, retired, most of last year).

So I think I’m growing it back and trying again for messy up do. I just can’t do hair.

DryWhiteagainW · 06/01/2019 18:28

Hello MissE nice shoes.
Fedup I keep trying that look, really like it, but all the skirts I try are too long. Where did you get yours?
I also need to loose a bit....4 weeks away from the gym (2 more to go) are making me feel terrible. The damage isn’t terrible but it’s good for my head iykwim.

Dreamqueen · 06/01/2019 18:33

Fedup I like that look too but like Dry all the skirts i've tried are too long.

shopafrolic · 06/01/2019 18:46

Forgive the ask MissE but how did you see my hair? Insta?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 06/01/2019 19:03

blurgh. that's how i feel about clothes right now. Just not inspired at all to make any effort at all and i have so many lovely (Well it hink they're lovely) things to wear but i'm ending up in plain black skinny jeans, comic/music/tv print tee and a big either purple or black hoodie because i just C.B.A. i suppose its not really warm enough though for a lot of my stuff as it doesn't lend itself too well to layering it up as its all meant to nip in at the waist. ugh, ill get over it im sure and be back to it soon enough

MissElaineNeus · 06/01/2019 20:33

Not you? Image in this post a way back.

shopafrolic · 06/01/2019 21:24

Pic of ear piercing is me (but you can’t see much hair). I did post a pic of a model when I was considering cutting it all off.......

Dry, Dream skirt hasn't arrived yet but it's Next petite. All others I tried are far too long so giving this a go-will let you know.

Queenchanel · 06/01/2019 21:39

dream forgive me but I can’t remember what your hair was like. All I remember is you looking fab in red lips and glasses

MissElaineNeus · 07/01/2019 04:37

Shop - model sorry. I had a lot to catch up on!

littleredlipstick · 07/01/2019 07:10

I need to master layering for work and then buy appropriate clothing to do it!

I get the bus to work and wear warm clothes but when I get to work I'm sweltering.

If I can find some decent shirts/blouses that don't gape at the front it would be a great start but I have been looking for holy grail for a long time now

BerniceBobsHerHair · 07/01/2019 08:16

Happy New Year all. Was nice to read all your round ups, though apologies as I won't be able to remember them all!

I've been up since silly o'clock with baby DS so thought I would post Brew

Dry hope you are recovering well, I've also got my eye on a reduced seafolly swimsuit. Where are you off to (if you don't mind saying)?

Belated happy birthday to your DD Marsha! Cake. What are you thinking of doing about work?

Justa swoon at bag purchase! A Loewe puzzle bag is my dream bag purchase. In fact Voguettes, any suggestions for a similar bag at a cheaper price point? The only one I can find is the Yza satchel by Sandro but it seems to be sold out everywhere.

I bought this bag in the Black Friday sales, I like the look and colour of it but it is quite small and a bit of a squeeze to get things in and out of.

I also had a bit of a spree in the January sales Blush so need to rein it in for the next few months famous last words

I'm sorry to hear things are tough with DH Lib and also that things have come to the end of the road for you and DH Viva - I hope you can make it to a MU as it would be nice to meet you.

On a different note, I make a lot of soups but just use a stick blender - not heard of a soup maker, the blender way is pretty quick and easy.

Topaz nice to see you back, I always like your links. I think I remember you getting the Barbour for your daughter. Did she get it professionally re-waxed? I tried to do mine myself and it hasn't really worked at all. I should dig it out to see if it can be salvaged.

Mara well done on doing the shred, I have the DVD somewhere - should dust it off!

Look forward to seeing a lot of you at the MU. And hello to everyone I have missed!

FedupNagging · 07/01/2019 08:28

Golden Globes fashion - am not at work for another few days and everyone else is away so having a lazy start to the day looking at fabulous frocks.

As always some hits and misses - I thought Sandra Oh looked stunning in her red dress but also looked fabulous in the other 2. No idea who the chap is, but great cape work and Penelope Cruz's dress is gorgeous

Not normally a fan of dresses with lots of cut out bits but Thandie Newton looks amazing especially with her big hair and minimal makeup.

Our own dear Olivia Coleman needs to feature-lovely lace sleeves and neckline also bright lipstick.

Finally Jemma Chan for the beautiful colour of her dress.

Bernice hope ds is ok and that you manage to get some rest today. Nice Sandro bag-it looks fairly roomy to fit in all your clobber!

Forgot to say last night to Dream & Dry that ASOS also had petite pleated skirts in stock-I just ordered through next as wanted trousers too.
