Hi folks,

A swift glance at the Style & Beauty boards reveals ASOS’s popularity with MNers (where else can you get unlimited next-day delivery all year for a tenner?), but we wanted to know about Mumsnetters’ best ever ASOS purchases and pool the collective wisdom of our in-house style mavens.

So, whether it’s the perfect plain white tee or a party dress you can breastfeed in, we asked Mumsnetters to share their ASOS wardrobe staples and offered the chance to win a £50 voucher for their trouble. You can take a look at their top picks below and contribute your two cents if you like (though the competition is now closed).

This thread isn’t sponsored by ASOS, but we might use it to give us a steer on future content.

Update: we might add a link into your post if we think it would be helpful.

Mumsnet carries some affiliate marketing links, so if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale (more details here).

I bought my wedding dress from ASOS eight years ago. Plain black maternity sheath dress (I was 20 weeks pregnant with DD2). Haven't bought anythibg apart from a swimming cossie since. Must have another look!

BaconCrispsGone · 03/08/2018 12:04

Nothing specific to add but I did find they had one of the biggest ranges of maternity wear

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 03/08/2018 12:14

I bought this jumpsuit and have had so many compliments about it and it's been really comfortable to wear in the hot weather.

ASOS is pretty much the only place I shop now, it has every thing I need and the brands that I love (Oasis, Warehouse etc). I love the own brand label and the smaller brands like Glamourous too. My colleagues always hear the answer ‘it’s from ASOS’. Ive even converted a few!
I love that I can get everything I want, a smart dress or some Pixi beauty products so easily. The big winner for me is the delivery, I always Click and Collect at my local Asda, so I’m not worried about missing a delivery and I can pick it up when I get my shopping.

My recent loves are my Asos flatform sandals that go with everything, I’ve had loads of compliments about them too. I’m a big fan of Ridley jeans and just about to order some maternity versions too.

Livinglavidal0ca · 03/08/2018 15:09

I love ASOS, I’m a young mum but I think they have stylish clothes for someone my age, but also mumsy enough.

I also love the free delivery, I always order things in a couple of sizes and send back what I don’t need, the money is in my account within a couple of days!

beargryllshasabigrope · 03/08/2018 16:07

I love the ASOS t shirts, they're a lovely shape, nice and thin and I find them very flattering. My best ever find though has to be my wedding dress! I was up duffed so it was a maternity one, it was cheap and chips and just beautiful.

LOVE this from ASOS!www.asos.com/prd/9162557

My Best Buy has been a petite Vera Moda Parka. I think I got it for about £27 2 winters ago and it's so warm I can only wear it when it's freezing. I ordered about 4 (the beauty of ASOS is the free returns) and just kept the one I liked best.

rainingcatsanddog · 03/08/2018 16:13

My teens are massive ASOS fans. My daughter is particular is hoping that they expand their stationery and home wear section. Prices on ASOS are excellent, my style-conscious teens tell me that the clothes are on point and returns are very easy if they have changed their mind or the sizing is unusually off.

The section called Going Out-Out makes me 😂 because the name isn't formal language but spot on.

I think it's great that online stores tell you the height and size of models but I'd like to see ASOS lead the way in having a model for each size. So if I click on a product, I can see what it looks like on a size 6 model as well as a size 8/10/12/14.

Currently waiting on my most recent order to arrive which is this fab jumper

Roll on Autumn so that I can wear it Grin

I love the Farleigh Mom Jeans

They also have the best maternity selection

cakeandteajustforme · 03/08/2018 16:26

I liked the Asos maternity range for work dresses when I was pregnant. Whilst i did enjoy the low pricing I would have preferred it there could be a guarantee that it was ethical right through the supply chain. I worry with inexpensive clothes that corners have been cut somewhere, and usually to the detriment of those unable to change the system.
I found the long sizes really useful as I'm on the cusp height-wise but with a long body.

SequinsOnEverything · 03/08/2018 16:43

I love the range they have. At the moment I am deciding which of their many curve high waist sports leggings to go for. I think these ones might win

Love the beauty selection on ASOS - a real range of price points and fab quality! My slightly more guilty secret is the range of festival accessories - gems, glitter, feathers etc - which make summer for me!

purplecorkheart · 03/08/2018 16:48

I like buy dresses for black tie events at Asos. They always have a great selection compared to the limited selection on the highstreet.

EnFlique · 03/08/2018 16:51

In general I love the ASOS curve range; I’m broad shouldered and have a c section hanging over so struggle to get things that fit without sizing up, so it’s nice to be able to buy and feel confident they will fit properly.
My absolute favourites have been the ASOS curve basic vest tops, a wardrobe staple!
Also love my pastel pink converse & a green Junarose dress that I bought for a first date in January (7months on we are still together so that is definitely my lucky dress!)

busybear · 03/08/2018 17:21

I've worn this lovely dress to many weddings. It still looks lovely now I'm a size or two smaller.

I bought this skirt following a post by another mumsnetter and love it on holiday with the matching blouse.

The curve range is so lovely - I'm a little bit sad I'm too small to fit now. I like seeing the outfits on larger women as well as you can see how it fits round the waist, over the stomach etc.

These maternity feeding tops:
m.asos.com/asos-maternity-nursing/asos-design-maternity-nursing-top-with-wrap-over-top/prd/9601668?clr=nude&SearchQuery=&cid=5813&gridcolumn=2&gridrow=7&gridsize=2&pge=3&pgesize=72&totalstyles=187
I had several in navy, black, pink plus one had long sleeves. Really convenient for feeding and flattering too as they hide lumpy tummies.

I adore ASOS, been away for 5 days and returned to 2 deliveries! I buy from there about every 10 days, the returns policies are excellent and straight forward. Love the vouchers you earn for a close to pay day treat, the app is fab, especially the wish list.
Brilliant range of products and something for every occasion and budget.
I bought a white floral midi dress recently for the races, it had small orange flowers on and black buttons at the waist, I felt very glamourous and old school Hollywood in it.
Favourite purchase ever were some burgundy Vera moda jeans that I wore until they fell
Apart. They are still in my wardrobe as I can’t bear to throw them out!

My first every online purchase was from ASOS, a one shouldered yellow top with a face on- I loved that top! Took me ages to order it on our very slow PC, that was when it was As Seen On Screen. I think Edith Bowman or Fearne Cotton had worn it first.

I do miss primark being available on there and wish they had Ivy Park.

But overall it is the best!

christmaschristmaschristmas · 03/08/2018 18:22

Since having kids I've always struggled to find fashionable flattering clothes in any shop for those on the cusp of being plus sized (16/18) that are well thought out, nice pieces and not just 'sized up' (because those never fit!). ASOS Curve range has done all this and more!

After spending many an hour looking for some culottes, I found what I was looking for! (asos-curve-cropped-black-wide-leg-trousers-in-jersey-crepe). I wear them all the time, they can be dressed up or down and I feel fabulous in them - even on the school run!

ProseccoandPizza · 03/08/2018 18:32

Ordered so much from ASOS this year including the tall range for 6’10 DP as well as gym wear and dresses for me. My favourite purchase is my rose embroidered back t shirt dress. ❤️

asuwere · 03/08/2018 19:04

I like the ASOS curve leggings high waist and not see through! :)

BirthdayKake · 03/08/2018 19:12

My best ever purchase was my wedding shoes, which were only around £35 and beautiful! I get married two weeks tomorrow, and I can't wait to wear them :)

Picture of when they arrived!

What I like asos for is toiletries and occasion dresses. Only place you can get a nice maternity event dress.

They also stock ‘yes to’ toiletries and winky lux lip balm.

Hammondisback · 03/08/2018 20:08

I love ASOS! This is gorgeous for holidays and in the sale:

I love the videos - they give you a really good idea of how the garment will fall. I also like the, ‘Model wears size...’ - find it helpful.
Thinking of buying this at the moment:

Also, bought this a while ago and felt so special wearing it.

I've never shopped at asos as I've never been sure of the quality. I find it a right faff on sending stuff back and begrudge paying delivery for shite.

Time for another look I think.
