I have started many threads over the years about the non-surgical fixes I have had: botox, liquid face lift, threads etc... Anyway, about a year and a half ago I did realise that I was looking a bit done - my honest friend told me and she was right - I thought I was subtle but tweakage is cumulative and before you know it ... well, you know.

I am still very interested in all that shizz so I popped to my clinic and asked if there was anything that would not freeze my face, make me look less knackered but still my age (46) . That's when they recommended Profhilo.
It's a course of two treatments a month apart. 5 injections on each side of the face with pure hyarulonic acid which then spreads across your face and encourages your own collagen and elastin to rebuild.V clever.
I had my first round on Tuesday so expected no results whatsoever but woke up on Saturday with the skin of a baby. It already feels dead plump, pores have disappeared and there is some slight lifting. It's not even supposed to be working yet but I feel I look so much better.

Cannot wait to see full results after two treatments.

SD1978 It'll be winging its way over to Oz if not available already. It's been in the UK for a couple of years now but only generally available to Harley Street/Kensington types but the training is far more widely available to clinicians now.

If it's a small consolation, we have only just started 2018's MKR.

Seems like we are all leaving the Botox and fillers to the 20 year old ' Love Island' types who are ruining their lovely faces.

Thanks macymacy those no make-up in bright sunlight photos speak for themselves. You look fookin' amazing. I really do believe that everyone will have very happy results with this treatment as long as their expectations are realistic.

Thanks DameDoom, I'm really, really chuffed with it. No more Botox or fillers for me.
Now just need to be the neck and décolletage done! 😉

DameDoom · 22/08/2018 18:07

God I know... once you start. Was supposed to have my neck done yesterday too but had to cancel that bit due to total washing machine failure expenses.
Cleanliness must come before my own vanity necessary self-maintenance at the moment Wink

You look fantastic macymacy!

Agree Damedoon I think it’s the youngsters having Botox these days. I guess it prevents the lines from forming but I can’t imagine considering it in my 20s! Hate the over-botoxed, lips like slugs look that’s popular these days.

This is a fab thread!

I follow Alice Hart-Davies on Instagram and she’s written articles on profhilo. She raves about it and has had her neck done too with good effect. The neck is always a giveaway to your true age so anything that improves this area is welcome!

princesstiasmum · 22/08/2018 20:16

Looking foward to hearing [and seeing maybe] the results of the neck treatment, mine looks worse every day

Truckingonandon · 22/08/2018 21:29

Macy, you look fantastic and about 10 yrs younger than your actual age.

macymacy · 23/08/2018 10:09

Many thanks, I have to admit you can't see my neck in this photo, that gives the game away unfortunately, but that's next on the list!

TheOnlyAletheia · 24/08/2018 18:29

So I had my first treatment today with numbing cream. Profhilo veterans- can I ask whether you noticed much difference after the first treatment?

Truckingonandon · 24/08/2018 21:18

Well I'm no veteran and had my first ever treatment about 3 weeks ago. Have just started to see a slight improvement. It certainly wasn't immediate for me but I'm pleased with the effect now. It's subtle but I can notice it. Can't wait for the 2nd session.

Pinkandyellowandgreen · 24/08/2018 21:27

Profhilo users

Has anyone had it once and then waited (year or more) and not had it again - who can speak to the long term effects -whether once it has worn off, it makes you look older than if you'd never had it?

I'm interested in the long term effect of this. I've googled and read about it and the seems a general lack of information or understanding in fact (even from the science side) about how it works.

I'm interested to know whether you could have it once and not do it again and be fine - ie. look normal and not like you need to do it again.
In the way that people who have had fillers and then stop look about 100 years older than when they started - rather than how they would look if they never had fillers.

My theory is that that maybe because even minutely fillers will stretch the skin and so when you stop you are more wrinkly. There are some shocking celeb pictures of those who have stopped.

Delatron · 24/08/2018 21:51

I agree, there are countless celebs (Felicity Kendall for example) who have gone overboard with fillers and Botox then stopped and looked far worse than they would have. I guess the muscles atrophy from Botox and get overstretched from the filler.

It’s so new I guess we don’t know the long term effects. I would hope that as profhilo just plumps up the skin gently, disappears and then your own collagen is stimulated then you wouldn’t get that over stretched effect? It’s a good question though.

Truckingonandon · 24/08/2018 22:07

Remember that you're still ageing 'underneath' the treatment. So if you have it once and then wait a year but feel that you look even worse, your skin is now a year older than when you first had the treatment.

Delatron · 24/08/2018 22:15

Would the new collagen offset that though? I’d quite like to press the pause button. I guess the question is, if you keep topping up every 6 months what would the effect be?

princesstiasmum · 24/08/2018 23:19

Why would you have to top up every 6 months if the collagen has been stimulated?

MrsMaisel · 25/08/2018 07:22

If you've had fillers in the area already can you use P at the same time... how long would you wait between the two treatments?

macymacy · 25/08/2018 09:40

I guess, as Delatron has said, it's relatively new so the long term effects won't be known yet.
I've had fillers but it's probably a year ago so not sure what would happen if you had them closer together.
I'm happy to be a guinea pig for new treatments, doesn't bother me in the slightest 😊 also happy to have top ups if the effects are as good, I'll just see how it goes.

DameDoom · 25/08/2018 17:39

Apparently collagen starts breaking down 1 or 2% per year after the age of 30 although genetics and lifestyle will have an impact on this so, I suppose, you are essentially slowing that process down. I should imagine if it's effective for 6-9 months then you'll look that much fresher for a good bit longer.
I'm seeing really marked results since my second treatment on Tuesday. Not only are my undereye troughs significantly filled out now but the crepeyiness is far less - I have done the pinch test several times and am delighted.
This is by far the best aesthetic treatment I have ever had. I am going to penny-pinch like mad to get my neck down as it now looks terrible in comparison to my face.

I had 1st profhilo 3 weeks ago and haven’t seen any improvement yet
I know I was told it probably won’t show any results till after 2nd treatment but I was hoping to see a little something
Was really hoping for an improvement in my marionette lines

newname43 · 29/08/2018 22:56

I tried the Promax which was supposed to do the same, £££ later nothing, after several sessions
I need to see results on others before i try anything else
I hope you see results soon,Mckmck123

rosieposey · 30/08/2018 14:27

I'm 46.7 and had my second lot of Profilo yesterday. Tbh I haven't seen much difference from my first lot although I did wait 7 weeks in between.

I lost 3.5 stone over the last two years ( I'm still in the high 14's though 🙄) and it's played havoc with the skin on my neck. It's crepey and there is a weird sort of dip, this has only happened since Iost weight. I'm hoping for great things from profhilo, I'll let you know!

I had boletero fillers a year ago and had a bit of Botox ( azzelure ) yesterday as I've got some serious grooves happening in between my eyebrows so I'm used to a bit of 'maintenance' facial aesthetics but I'm keen to see if the Profhilo makes any difference.

If it does I'll have it instead of fillers I think. I don't mind looking my age but I want to look healthy ( as I can for an overweight middle aged woman! ) and less tired so watching this thread with interest. I'm also putting up a pic of my dodgy neck and my face for reference Grin

Ps that necklace line looks a bit dirty 😱 it's not .. it's quite a deep line and I've St Tropez'ed 😎

newname43 · 30/08/2018 15:02

You have a lovely face, where did you have the fillers, cheeks or lines?
Hope the neck improves for you,its the downside of losing weight isnt it?

rosieposey · 30/08/2018 15:20

I had it in my cheeks, and my temples too plus nose to mouth lines but I think it's fairly subtle and I do have some lines still which is fine otherwise I'd look and feel a bit odd.

The fillers in my cheeks did amazing things for my tear troughs- see attached pic, they were bags for life before and whilst still there are dramatically improved. The other thing that vastly improved was the lines at the top of my cheekbones just under the eye at the corner so to spread, these have also not quite gone but look so much better.

I'm happy with a 'the best I can look' version of myself rather than a ' wow you don't look like you anymore' result.
