Face tinkerers - Profhilo is flippin' brill

I have started many threads over the years about the non-surgical fixes I have had: botox, liquid face lift, threads etc... Anyway, about a year and a half ago I did realise that I was looking a bit done - my honest friend told me and she was right - I thought I was subtle but tweakage is cumulative and before you know it ... well, you know.

I am still very interested in all that shizz so I popped to my clinic and asked if there was anything that would not freeze my face, make me look less knackered but still my age (46) . That's when they recommended Profhilo.
It's a course of two treatments a month apart. 5 injections on each side of the face with pure hyarulonic acid which then spreads across your face and encourages your own collagen and elastin to rebuild.V clever.
I had my first round on Tuesday so expected no results whatsoever but woke up on Saturday with the skin of a baby. It already feels dead plump, pores have disappeared and there is some slight lifting. It's not even supposed to be working yet but I feel I look so much better.

Cannot wait to see full results after two treatments.

I will Smile not expecting amazing results but any improvement would be great, I've looked into threading so maybe that's next.

newname43 · 30/08/2018 17:19

Does the cheek filler lift the jowls? thats what i need as losing fat from my face

DameDoom · 30/08/2018 17:52

newname43 cheek filler will definitely help jowls a lot - it literally hoiks your face up to where it used to be.

Rosie can I ask why you had 7 weeks between your Profhilo treatments? My clinic said it absolutely had to be 4 weeks.

It's been 9 days since my second round. I went to the supermarket with just factor 50 and mascara on today - I have worn foundation in public for the last 30 years as I have never been happy with my skin. I didn't even need creme blush to liven up my usually corpse-like visage.

Here is a pic of my results so far. I feel that my skin has been completely transformed. I have no make-up on at all apart from my mascara but obvs you can't see that.

Sorry about the slapped down hair.

DameDoom thank you, i actually had some botox yesterday, and asked about cheek fillers, she said my face was too small,i am sure the amount of filler can be adjusted, does this sound right to you? she said i would look like a hamster if i had fillers, Shock
I do have a small face though,

newname43 · 30/08/2018 19:01

Rosie threading hasnt got such good reviews, and really doesnt make much difference, some surgeons wont even do it, i believe

SD1978 · 30/08/2018 19:06

@DameDoom-
That's juts the profilla?! You look amazing!

Delatron · 30/08/2018 19:09

Wow DameDoon that’s a fantastic result. Your skin looks flawless. I’m so impressed.

DameDoom · 30/08/2018 19:16

Thank you - I am staggered by the results. There is no way I would have ever believed that a treatment could make such a difference and allow me to go without make-up but I was convinced when I saw the nurses' skin at my clinic. Their complexions are both completely flawless.

Remind me how much for two treatments?

I didn’t get on with Botox so excited to try this.

DameDoom · 30/08/2018 19:27

rosieposey I had a thread lift a few years ago. My jawline result was quite good but it didn't last as long as I had hoped. My face was black and blue for a week. I do bruise easily but sheesh. I had to sleep on my back for ages and I could literally feel every thread in my face. You're not allowed to open you mouth wide either. I won't be going there again.
newname43 she may not be that experienced in administering fillers or she may be correct in that they're not for you. You could have a few consultations with other clinics. Ask to see examples of their work and try to get word of mouth recommendations.

Dame that might be why it's a bit crap so far. The nurse that does it was late as she comes into the Clinc at Bristol from a fair ways way and then I got stuck in traffic so she said I'd have to make the next Clinc of hers which was 3 weeks after ... she didn't say anything about it being a problem to do it later but I most admit I haven't seen any improvement at all so far.

Yes I believe the fillers help with Joel issues as Dame said it is literally scaffolding and I have seen little improvements everywhere Smile

rosieposey · 30/08/2018 20:40

Sorry for all the spelling mistakes! Phone autocorrects stupidly.

I have heard a similar thing about threads and tbh the nurse didn't seem that keen on me getting them done as she said they were expensive and she wasn't sure how effective they'd be.

I would definitely be interested in a neck lift but only under a local - I can't bear the thought of a GA for vanity iyswim?

Wow Dame your face! Shock you look bloody amazing! I am seriously going to have a look at profhilo for my fave in the future, maybe combined with some gentle fillers as my cheeks were flat as pancakes before and that seems to be what's had the knock on effect of pulling everything else up.

I looked at me ten years ago and I had lots of volume in my cheeks and hardly any wrinkles - just those pesky 11's which have frankly plagued me since my mid 30's. It all went downhill from about 42/43 and I got one am glad for all the help I can get!

DameDoom · 30/08/2018 21:02

Thanks rosieposey. I would have a chat with your nurse - I think she has misled you somewhat. The treatment protocol is very strict. I think she should do you another treatment at no extra cost.

This thread is awesome!

I've given up on the idea of a threadlift. Fillers have never appealed to me. I did like the effects of the botox I did a few times a few years ago.

I'm going to try profhilo. I have something else I'm saving up for so this will have to wait a few months. In the meantime, I'm getting pretty decent results from collagen supplements.

Delatron · 30/08/2018 22:56

Which collagen supplements are you using @JustGettingStarted?

JustGettingStarted · 31/08/2018 05:39

Something that was highly rated and affordable on amazon. Its a powder. I'll see if I can find it...

rosieposey · 31/08/2018 09:50

Dame I've texted her this morning to ask!

poppym12 · 31/08/2018 11:14

I've been following this thread but thought I'd de-lurk to ask whether Profhilo can help tear troughs, jowls and lip lines? I'd love to feel better about myself as the aging of my face seems to have happened really suddenly but I don't fancy botox or fillers.

Smellyrose · 31/08/2018 11:34

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get treatment in London, Berks or Oxon?

The results on here are amazing and I definitely need a bit of help...

Springinglover · 31/08/2018 12:30

What is the difference between fillers and Profhilo? Is it not Hylauronic acid injected into the face still? I’m interested in this, definitely but would like to know approx costs, how long roughly it lasts and whether there is any difference from it to normal fillers?

Mckmck123 · 31/08/2018 13:11

Hi new name 43
I am feeling a bit despondent about profhilo and even thinking of not going for 2nd treatment as I am worried as I have not seen zilch improvent.does any one else feel like this

JustGettingStarted · 31/08/2018 14:36

I look up reviews on realself. Some people say that it doesnt last very long

Ooogetyooo · 31/08/2018 14:58

So is Profhilo an injection yet put into problem areas in the same way as Botox and fillers? Do they inject around eyes for crows feet ? I've been quoted £250 for one session that's at a clinic in Bolton , she says the second session isn't always necessary it depends on your level of decrepitness ( my words not hers)
