I think Meghan is on the short side - about 5’4.

I think she’s a stylish dresser, but the sleeveless coat dress was horrid.

OK magazine says 5'6", Insider says "Most reports indicate that Markle is 5'7", but s ome other outlets report that Markle is 5'6"."

She's smaller than a UK size 6

I think she is 5’6” or 5’7” in heels as she looks very petite and most actresses are tiny in real life.

Slightly off topic, but enjoyed this Guardian piece about the Queen's coded messages via her brooches Smile

CurlyWurlyTwirly: Thanks for the linky to Tom & Lorenzo.
I love their commentary, the one on Kate “I’m back bitches” in the yellow Dolce at Wimbledon was hilarious! They are so funny about Diana too. Love them!

You're welcome Curly! I love TLo. Went to them originally for the Mad Men commentary and stayed for the royal posts. They had really good coverage of the royal wedding.

That Glamour article explains a lot. "If your outfit is on point, one thing has to be off for you to look perfect." Hence the messy bun. I agree Meghan can really rock a pencil skirt!

Quantumblue: I think the whole - bundled up in clothes a bit big- vibe is sending a message to say 'I didn't get here just because of my rockin' bod. Please take me seriously.'

This.

Andrew has not always made wise decisions with friendships and investments.

Oh yes, it was quite dodgy when he was seen with Jeffrey Whatsisface AFTER he was jailed for sleeping with underage girls.Confused

I noticed her shoes were size 39

5'6" isn't petite. I'm 5'4" and too tall for petite clothing.

bean - apparently she wears her shoes one or two sizes too big, which makes her a 38 or a 37, which is quite small. (I don't know how she doesn't fall out of them with them being too big, but there you go. Another fashionista trick I can't do!)

Sadly I am nowhere near a size 6 unless it's a USA size 6.

Being tiny isn't just about her height, though. She's very very slim - I think my arms are bigger than her legs!

The Eugenie wedding - the 1200 public invitations to stand outside in the grounds - I think there'll be plenty of people who'd fall over themselves to do that. I mean loads of people camp overnight on pavements to be withing shrieking distance of a royal even for just a few scant seconds.

I think it will do the image of the monarchy no good at all to have Princesses B and E pushed forward in the future. It will turn the general public off. The opposite direction - a streamlined royal family; Charles, Camilla, Princes William and Harry and their wives and children as the core group of royals is the only way to ensure it will survive IMO. Too many hangers on and slipping in from the side'ers will kill the monarchy.

I agree. A slimmed down monarchy is the way to go. Just the immediate family is big enough.

I think Eugenie has got it right today, lovely colour on her and the cut suits her figure.

Yes, that's a win for Eugenie. I'm feeling more hopeful re: the wedding dress.

To survive, the royal pride must expel some members. The York girls aren't the liability Princess Margaret was, but neither are they going to make themselves useful, Princess Anne-style, so it's for the best.

I think Eugenie is a bit hopeful regarding the interest in her wedding.

There were lots of people on the other thread who were going to apply for tickets. I would if I lived closer just for the atmosphere. My friends is going for tickets for her aunt who is a staunch royalist. I bet they all go

I just stumbled on this royal blind gossip item. It's from about 9 months ago but certainly intriguing, and a horrible situation if it's true.

My money is on it being Maxima and Masako of Japan, who has been off the radar for years because of alleged mental health issues.

Yes it is Máxima & Masako.
I guess Masako is just waiting till her daughter is old enough to go to uni in the USA or somewhere and will go with her & never go back to Japan. So sad.

Queen
Could it be Maxima noticed a 'neighbour' and wants to help ?
It could be closer to home than Japan.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/07/2018 08:36

I would apply to go to Eugenie’s wedding if I was in the country.
If anyone on this thread goes, please report back in minute detail on the frocks Grin
